"Renee! Good morning!"
"Good morning, Renee!"
"Let me carry your bag for you,"
"Hi, Renee!"
A band of students was already gathered at the front gate of the academy, waiting for the distinct black car that Renee uses to get to school driven by her personal driver. This has been their daily routine every morning before going to their respective classes, some of them were huge fans of the said teen actress, some were just trying to get to Renee's good side in hopes that they can get in the showbiz life by having connections with the famous actress.
"Good morning, everyone." Renee greeted them back as soon as she stepped out of her shiny car after being opened by the driver himself. The air was filled with their loud gasp and cheers by being noticed by her, although Renee has been doing this for already half of the semester yet these people are still not getting tired of waiting here so early in the morning.
She could not blame them, it was understandable, totally understandable. Who would not want to bask in her presence? The top teen star of the showbiz industry is right there in front of them, who would not scream out of joy?
Moving with much elegance, Renee runs her slim fingers through her warm brown hair which hangs over a fine, beautiful face. Each strand seemed so lustrous that it looked like it was lit from within. Sparkling brown eyes set charmingly within their sockets, the eyes that everyone was dying to get its attention but Renee would only look in front of her as she walks through the campus, indulging in the sweet, sweet feeling of fame as the students flock behind her, swooning. She is the queen, this is her kingdom, and these pathetic people were her slaves. What more could she ask for?
It is hard to describe a complex person like Renee Quinn but a whole lot can be said about her if someone were to truly look past her innocent and delicate facade to the public, the fact that she is venomous and egocentric is just the tip of the iceberg. To get to where she is now, she had to step on other people's lives and she had no remorse in doing so. As long as she gets to the top, it does not matter whose life she ruins, and what is unfair about it is that those people do not even realize that they are being used by her because of her fake persona. . . except for one.
"Renee, I have news from the headmistress's office. . ." A girl suddenly sprang out from the corner of the hallway as soon as Renee entered the building. She was small and petite that she usually gets mistaken for being a grade schooler rather than a high school girl, her hair had a bright color of red after numerous dyeing, something she had done to try and fit in with the vibrant appearances of the other students here but this attempt only made her hair look dull and frizzy. But despite her odd hairstyle, Renee acknowledges her presence and spared her a glance not because she is kind to people like this girl, but because she had no choice. She is Caitlyn Rossi, the daughter of one of the famous movie directors and Renee has to give this girl some sort of a promise of friendship even if it disgusts her through the bones.
"Morning, Cait. You sure come to school early," Renee raised her voice since the sound of footsteps and voices behind her was too overwhelming that hers gets drowned out. Caitlyn nodded in response while struggling to walk at the same pace as Renee. In reality, Renee was doing it on purpose, walking fast so that Caitlyn's stubby and short legs will not be able to keep up with her long and slim ones.
"Yes, well anyway, I heard gossip from everyone around just this morning and it seems like there is a new stude-" Caitly got cut off by Renee again when she turned to a corner and practically left her behind. Her short demeanor turned out to be a disadvantage since the crowd that was following Renee almost run her over, tossing and pushing her around until they left her behind in the middle of a now empty hallway since everyone else who was idly standing next to their lockers basically followed where Renee was going.
Caitlyn sighed and just continues to walk in the same direction where Renee and the rest of the students went, at a slow pace.
Once Caitlyn was in front of their classroom, she can hear their loud conversation even from the outside and she just stood there, trying to look for the courage to open the door and enter but something in her mind is keeping her from doing so, she knows that she has no kind of talent that is needed in the showbiz life.
Helvon Academy offers not only academic programs but also has various departments that offer different kinds of training. If there are students who only wanted to be a model, they go to the modeling department. If some only wanted to act, they go to the theater department. Some only want to become a singer, or an idol, or a dancer, and they all go to their respective departments. There is also a small portion of the population who only wants to work behind the camera, and they go to the production department. A few, however, was blessed with such talents that they get to be trained in all aspect, they belong everywhere. . . and Renee is one of them since she was able to sing, dance, model, and act.
Caitly fixes her uniform, brushing her pleated skirts in scarlet and they dangle down to about the top of her knees. They are paired with black knee high socks and brogue shoes colored in wheat and scarlet respectively just like the rest of the students here in Helvon since the academy follows a strict uniform policy even if some wanted to show off their amazing fashion sense, everyone still had to wear exactly the same thing. Every student, both boys and girls wears white long sleeved shirts, which are usually almost perfectly tucked into their skirts and pants and are covered with a fairly charming jacket during the winter but since it is spring, they ditched the jacket. Even though their uniform was stylish and looked voguish, Caitlyn's slightly chubby figure ruins it for her.
Amidst her internal struggle, she was interrupted when she heard footsteps coming from the end of the hallway. The distinct sound of heels clicking against the marbled floor made her head turn to look at who was approaching her but the sound only suggests that it was their professor, but boy was she wrong when she saw that the one who was making the click clack sound of heels was not any of the professors, but one of the students. . . the transfer student to be precise and she was not wearing the recommended shoes but elegant and chic black shoes that have at least an inch of a heel, further elongating her already long legs.
"Ah. . . Err. . . Hmm," Caitlyn was panicking with each step the transfer student makes towards her, and although Luna was being accompanied by their professor miss Lillian, Luna's presence was too overpowering that she did not notice miss Lillian was also there with them in the hallway. She felt like a mouse trapped in a corner and Luna was a tigress ready to pounce at her any minute, she can feel her aura resonating almost everywhere and it was dark and menacing. Caitlyn wondered how can Luna be this scary even though she was not doing anything aside from walking towards the classroom door.
"Miss Rossi, what are you doing over there? Class is almost starting," Miss Lillian pointed at Caitlyn with the pen she was holding.
Luna's ears perked up when she heard the name 'Rossi', the name of the award winning director, there is a rumor going around that every actor or actress who plays in one of his movies gets their lives changed.
"Go inside, I have to introduce our new student." Miss Lillian ushered for Caitlyn to go in first and she obediently did since being in the same place as Luna was making her really uncomfortable but she could not pinpoint the exact reason why. She can just feel her stare piercing through her skin and bones.
Miss Lillian then turned to face Luna one last time before entering the classroom as well, "Are you ready? Remember to give off a nice impression since they might be skeptical about your sudden appearance here in the academy." she was very worried that the other students might treat Luna badly since she got in the school without any struggle, some may think it is unfair and would push for her to get expelled if things go out of hand so as much as possible, Lillian does not want to go through all that paperwork and remind Luna to be kind to everyone.
"I understand, Miss Lillian. Thank you very much for your concern, I can already feel how lucky I am to be one of your students here in the academy. ." Luna's expression changed, she looked flustered and kept fidgeting with her fingers to show that she was really grateful for the guidance of Lillian.
"Oh, umm. . . It is nothing, just doing my job." Lillian said as she turned to face the door but she only did that to hide how happy she was to hear that from one of her students since everyone else was too busy trying to impress Renee Quinn.
Luna saw that and once the professor's back was turned against her, a satisfied grin crept up on her face.
If Renee was venomous, then Luna is toxic.
