"On today's Celebrity Talk Show! We have a very special guest and she has been dominating the showbiz world at just the early age of 9. Give it up for the 17-year-old actress Renee Quinn!" Along with the sound of the bustling city from outside a small building apartment, comes the voice of the host speaking from the old television as well as the booming applause from the audience just by hearing the famous name of 'Renee Quinn'. From the corner of her eye, she saw the appearance of an old friend- or rather- it would be more acceptable to call her a long-time sworn rival than a friend. It was an exceedingly hot afternoon, probably the year's hottest day, the windows were wide open to let in a cool breeze but it wasn't enough since she was still dripping with sweat as she lay comfortably on the red velvet sofa, keeping her eyes fixated on the interview being shown on the television. "Miss Renee, your acting in all of your films was magnificent! Your style of acting is something I have never seen, especially the way you frown whenever you're in a sad scene." It was obvious that the host was a big fan of Renee by how he speaks to her as if he was faced to face with a goddess. Of course, only a person living under a rock wouldn't be charmed by the young Madonna of the showbiz world, Renee Quinn. Renee had only laughed quietly, fanning herself with her freshly manicured hands as she answered back with a lovely voice. "Thank you, you could say that I developed that technique myself." "Heh," With a scoff, the girl watching from the sofa grinned menacingly as soon as she heard that Renee came up with that style of acting herself when in reality, Renee had got those unique acting styles from her. "After all those years, sweet little Renee is still a big fat liar." Already bored with the program being shown on the television, she stood up and stretched her hands skyward, revealing a bit of her slim waist as her pink shimmering top raises as well. "Hmm~" She hummed excitedly, even though Renee had just claimed something that she came up with, she looked like she was even glad instead of brimming with anger. Like a hunter, delighted that a stupid deer was dumb enough to waltz in her trap. With a swift motion, she took out her phone and dialed a specific number. The person on the other line immediately answered as if they were expecting her call and answered with a very enthusiastic high-pitched voice. "Miss Luna Lovell! The chairman mentioned you, I have been waiting all day for you to call!" From the sound of it, the person speaking sounded like a middle-aged woman, and hearing something so old made Luna scrunch her nose in annoyance but still answered back with the same gusto as the woman. "Hi! I am calling to know if the apartment that I am going to move into is already finished, I believe the chairman of Helvon Academy had already talked to you about that." The voice she used was completely different from the one where she was talking about Renee Quinn, from a voice filled with abhorrence to a kind and cheerful one, almost as if she flipped a switch inside her. Since she would be moving closer to Helvon Academy and the person she is talking to is the personal secretary of the chairman, the pitiful man who was forced and blackmailed into enrolling Luna into his school only for the elite and gifted students. Luna was a prodigy and although she is considered a highly intelligent person at the age of 17 years old, it was a rare case for someone to get enrolled all of a sudden without any sort of requirements since students who got into Helvon Academy must go through a series of exams and challenges to get accepted, so when the chairman's secretary found out that the chairman personally enrolled Luna into the school then that means she is someone very important hence her enthusiastic behavior towards the new transferee. "Your deluxe apartment located a few blocks away from school is already prepared, we are only waiting for your go signal so we can send a car to your location to come to pick you up." "Gosh! Thank you so much for all your hard work miss. . ." "Oh, my name is Jewel--" "Miss Jewel!" Luna immediately interjected before Jewel could even finish her introduction. If someone else was listening to their conversation they would know that Luna spoke as soon as she heard her say her first name since she did not want to be bothered about knowing her last name at all. "The chairman must be so glad to have you as his personal assistant, you get a lot of work done in just a short time!" "Oh, it's nothing, just doing my job," Jewel spoke in a sing-song voice, flattered that someone like Luna complimented her. "Anyway, if you would like, I will send the car to come and get you right now." "Sure! That is really kind of you, Miss Jewel." Luna smirked as she lets her gaze wander around in her small living room that would soon get left behind now that she has a new goal in mind. Putting Renee Quinn back to her place. The call ended with miss Jewel's high pitched and cheerful voice to which Luna answered with a calmer tone to balance out their energy. A few moments later, the sound of a car pulling up in front of Luna's apartment door was an indication for her to grab her stuff and leave. When she got out, the driver had already opened the car door for her that made her smile and nod to the man before glancing down at her numerous bags and luggage. The man caught her gaze which was fixated on the said items and volunteered to carry them, Luna only used her eyes to make the driver follow her order and carried her things to be placed at the trunk of the car. "That is so nice, thank you." She uttered as she got inside. "So, I guess I will be driving back to Helvon Academy, then?" The driver asked, making eye contact with Luna through the rear mirror of the car. She nodded elegantly, "Yes," she answered, hoping that the driver won't make any more small talks since she is not in the mood for that. "I see, then you are also one of the talented students." He mumbled that made Luna realize that this driver knows a few things about the academy and decided to wring him dry of information. Luna leaned forward and scrutinized the driver, his uniform was neat and decent but the colors were already fading indicative that he only had one set and the constant washing of his uniform every night made it lose its original color. This man is miserable. Luna thought as a small smile crept upon her face. "You seem to know a lot about Helvon, you must have been working there for a long time then? That is so admirable." The driver widened his eyes in shock from receiving a compliment and followed it with a chuckle, his eyes were focused on the road while he converses with a curious Luna. "Well, I only work as the chairman's driver but sometimes I work for the headmistress." "The headmistress?" Luna's eyes glistened with delight as soon as she heard that and spoke in a way as if she could not believe that this pitiful driver is working under such an important person, hearing that made the driver feel as if he needed to speak more in order to receive acknowledgments from Luna. "Oh, you know, Victoire Quinn? She's the mother of that famous teen celebrity, Renee Quinn and you know what? She just recently transferred and since then a lot of students wanted to get into the academy to get the same training as her to get famous. The academy is now incredibly rich from the overflowing students who wanted to get in even if it means paying a considerable amount of tuition." Luna kept nodding attentively while the man talks, letting him know that she is curious and is listening to him, something that the driver had never experienced since everyone in the academy was ignoring and looking down on him, to which Luna noticed hence why she kept wringing him dry. "What was Renee Quinn like on campus?" Luna continued. "Oh, that girl is very friendly. A lot of people might think that since she is famous she would be a total snob but that is not the case, she even stays late at school to help other students in their club activities related to acting and performing. Such a nice kid she is." Luna scoffed lightly after hearing that but the driver was not too keen to hear that sound of disgust coming from Luna, she recomposed herself and leaned back to relax as she stares outside the window. "So you're saying, she is like the campus' queen bee?" "Um, I guess so?" The driver answered that sounded more like a question since he was not aware of the meaning of being the campus queen be, it was someone who is at the top, and at the moment, it was Renee. "Hmm. . ." Luna just hummed softly, crossing her arms and with a villainous smirk she said "How exciting," She could not wait to go to school and dethrone Renee.
