THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US

CHAPTER 19

Ann had been trying to call Troy all throughout the day but he wasn't picking or responding to her text. she figured something might be wrong but then she also remembered how he had told her how stressful the project had been and Ann knew how much this promotion meant to Troy and how much he wanted it. They had not spoken so much like they used to all through the week. sometimes Mike sent Ann texts when she was asleep and when she is less busy and ready to talk, he was probably asleep or occupied with work.

Their schedules seem to be so different from how it used to be. Ann had a lot of work to do in school. The shop had been taking up most of the time she had and so she had to make up for it. She had called the shop earlier today that she wasn't going to be coming and so she had gone to the library to read and do some course work.

Ann left the hostel in the morning to get to the library, she got to the library later in the day after stopping by to get something to eat.

Ann placed her books on the library table to read and immediately she sat, her phone beeped and it was a message from Troy. Ann was excited that he finally texted back.

"I will make it up to you tonight, what about a virtual date"

Ann smiled as she read through the messages, she couldn't wait for tonight.

Ann read in the library for almost 5 hours before deciding to leave. she wanted to get ready for her virtual date which was by 6PM. Ann got home, had her bath, changed into one of her favourite cloth, had her cologne on even though she knew he couldn't possibly smell it on her but she still wanted to have a nice scent for him.

It was almost 6PM now. Ann was expecting Troy's call any moment from now. time passed and it was now 7:30pm and there was still no call from Troy. A sad Ann was already tired of waiting. she was about to call when she received a message from him.

"I am so sorry babe, got caught up in something. we would do this some other time. I love you"

Ann dropped the phone on the bed sadly. she had kind of expected it but it was still very sad hearing it from him. Ann was stood and was about to pull off her clothes when her phone began to ring.

"Hey" Mike said

"Hello, What's up" Ann said

"Are you up for a quick ride. let's go somewhere"Mike said and since Ann was dressed already, she decided to go anyway.

"alright, no problem" Ann said

few minutes after the call, Mike got to Ann's place.

"hope I am not too dressed for the occasion" Ann said as she was about to get into Mike's car.

"you're perfect just the way you are, you look really beautiful tonight by the way" Mike said as he got into the car ready to drive.

"Thank you"Ann said with a smile on her face.

"so, where are we going this night" Ann asked curiously as Mike drove

"somewhere different, I promised to show you New York, didn't I?"Mike said as he looked at Ann.

"yeah, you did"

"so, let's explore" Mike said.

Mike drove faster, minutes later they packed by an area, it didn't look like a lot of people stayed around the area. it had grasses around too.

Ann and Mike got down from the car and Ann looked around wondering what this place could be and why they were even here to begin with.

"where is this place" Ann asked as she walked slowly by Mike deeper into the site.

"you will get to see soon"

"here" Mike said smiling as they got to a spot. it was a very big water place. it had a little water fall by the side too and the birds around chirping with the sky white and the water blue. it looked like a beach but with a bit smaller water and a greater peace was felt here.

"wow, you really do know amazing places" Ann said in awe as she went forward to admire the place more. she bent down to the side of the water a bit as she played with it.

"This is really amazing, it's nature with great peace of mind" Ann said smiling as she turned around to look at mike.

Mike started to remove some of his clothes in order to get into the water.

"what are you doing" Ann asked curiously as she watched him.

he moved closer to the bank of the river.

"diving in of course" he said and then jumped into the water.

"this is cold though, but great" Mike said from inside the water as he smiled happily.

"you should come though" Mike said to Ann and Ann just stared at him smiling. she wanted to go in and at the same time didn't want to.

"just try it and if you don't want, you can then go back" Mike said to Ann trying to convince him.

"okay, okay" Ann removed her clothing till it was remaining her underwear and immediately it was evident Mike had alread fallen in love with her. he was mesmerized by everything.

Ann also jumped into the water later

"cold" Ann said as she wrapped her hand around her self.

Mike moved closer to where she was and held her hands in other to make her feel warmer. Mike stared into Ann's brown eyes with l**t, he wanted to do so many things with her. but more than anything. he wanted to kiss her soft plump lips.

Mike moves even more closer and wanted to attempt to kiss her until she turned her head almost immediately to the side. she wasn't sure what he wanted to do. Mike was so sure he wanted her now even more than ever
