THE DISTANCE BETWEEN US

Episode 18

Ann and Mike went left the wedding just after they saw lisa.

"I am so glad you guys came"Lisa said excitedly as she held her new husband by the hand smiling.

"we really did enjoy ourselves here, it was so much fun" Ann said excitedly

"yeah, we did" Mike said smiling.

"we are glad you could come, Lisa really loves her dress" Lisa's husband said and immediately Lisa turned around showing off her dress. she was so happy and Ann and Mike just smiled.

"it looks like it was made for her" Ann said smiling as she admired the cloth one more time.

"we would be leaving now, have a wonderful night" Ann said then Lisa pulled her into a hug and did the same for Mike too before they left.

"I can't wait for my wedding, I can't wait to have my own happily ever after" Ann said dreamy as she and Mike walked towards the car. she turned around as she raised her hand up. she was a little tipsy too and that contributed to her excess happiness this night.

"it's so beautiful this night" Ann said as she looked up into the sky and at the stars.

Mike and Ann entered into the car and as Mike started the car to go and Ann just looked out the window as she thought about how her wedding day was going to be.

"I want us to go somewhere" Mike said and Ann looked to his side.

"where" Ann asked curiously.

"you will see when we get there" Mike said as he increased the speed. The road was very free. Ann brought out her head through the upper part of the car as she raised both hands up screaming happily and smiling.

Mike smiled from where he was sitted as he sped up even more. few minutes after they got to where they where going.

"where is this" Ann asked as they both got down from the car. Mike held onto Ann's hand as they both walked up a stairs. it was a building at the extreme of the town. they got to the uppermost part and the view was amazing. that was what Mike wanted Anna to see.

"This is beautiful"Ann said as she smiled widely looking at how beautiful the city looked from here. one could easily see the whole city from up there and the site was amazing.

"I know right, I always come here at night when I want to clear my mind and just be happy" Mike said as they both stared into space.

"how did you get to know this place though" Ann asked curiously.

"One of those nights I drive around, I just stopped over and found this place" Mike said

"so how many girls have you brought here" Ann asked looking at Mike.

Mike looked at Ann with a side eye.

"no one, you're the first one I am bringing here you know. it's my special place" Mike said as he looked back into space.

"I don't want to believe that, you're with girls flocking around you every minute and every time there is someone else"Ann said.

"That's the truth though, I haven't brought anyone here" Mike said.

"This place is really beautiful though" Ann said placing her hand on the pavement there still watching the stars.

"yeah"

"See, a wishing star" Ann said, pointing up at the star she saw and Mike looked in the direction.

"Make a wish" Mike said and Ann closed her eye for a few seconds and Mike did the same too.

"what did you wish for" Mike asked after a while.

"I wished to be happy" Ann said, "I know it's kinda of cliche but it's really all I want" Ann added.

"what about you" Ann asked facing Mike.

"I wished for the same thing though and it's not cliche. sometimes it's just really needed"Mike said.

Ann and Mike stood at the rooftop for some more minutes before they decided to leave.

They drove back into the core of the city and as Mike drove. Ann felt the sudden urge to take an ice cream and would do anything to get what she wanted.

"I want to drink ice cream" Ann said and mike looked to the side.

"I know a good place though" Mike said as he made a turn to get to the place.

they got to the place and bought the ice cream she wanted. they sat to take it there and as Ann took her icecream. Mike watched her. she looked cute doing it and Mike enjoyed just watching her.

"you look so cute"Mike suddenly said and Ann smiled.

"do you want some more" Mike asked as Ann finished the one she was taking.

"I am okay, I think we should go now, I just really want to sleep in my bed right now" Ann said as she yawned

"okay then" Mike said as he picked the car key and they both left.

few minutes later Mike got to Ann's place.

"have a great night and sleep tight"Mike said to Ann before she walked inside.

"you have a great night too" Ann said before turning around to go.

Mike drove back home as he thought about how great today was and how he hadn't wanted it to end. he loved Ann's company and today just made him read that even more. he didn't understand why he always felt the urge to take her out until now. he loved how she was, how she talked and the things she did. As Mike drove home he couldn't help but realise that he had started to really like Ann. but she had a boyfriend and he knew him much she loved him but he couldn't also stop himself from feeling what he was feeling. over the past few months he had grown closer to Ann than any other person in the past three years. he loved spending time with her. he wasn't sure what he wanted to do but he was sure he wanted her close to him and in his life.
