Chapter Seven

PART 2   Chapter Seven   Dillon   Seb and Hunter had been right, she was a pretty thing. The smooth planes of her face made even more charming by the fact that she was asleep. I definitely liked her better asleep, at least then she wasn’t thrashing about like a crazed animal. I wasn’t easily hurt but a head butt to the bridge of the nose will make even a man like me tear up. Thankfully she had passed out as soon as I stepped with her wrapped in my arms into the portal. It was always rough on humans, like being sucked into a spinning vortex of quicksand. There was no air in the void. No noise. Just a never-ending myriad of colours. It was beautiful in its nothingness. Just like she was beautiful, although she was about as far from empty as any creature could get. Her soul shone about her like a golden aura. A beacon to all the darkness of the worlds. A beacon to me. I settled myself back, cloaking myself in the shadows as I watched her sleep on, the colour returning to her cheeks as her body repaired itself. What would it be like to have appeal? To the have the powers she didn’t even know she possessed. It was wasted on her. It all was. The beauty, the power. Everything. Maybe not the beauty, my lips curled up. I did kind of like looking at her. Once she had properly trained, I would enjoy looking at her every single day for eternity. Of course, my brothers would come for her, especially Declan. Who was the only one actually related by blood. Yes, Declan would come, he could never stand it if I had such a prized possession and he didn’t. It had been the same our entire existence. He had always been jealous of me. And the others as well. They would come. But I wouldn’t give her up, not without a fight. She was my chance at getting pout of this hell hole, the purgatory of my life.  I wanted more than this. No, I shook my head. I deserved more. And she was the key to me getting it. “Wake up” I made my voice a bark, pouring all my considerable power into it.  “I said wake up” It was a shout this time and finally she moved her back arching. Pushing her plump breasts even further out of that tiny dress as her eyelids fluttered. “Where am.. did I pass out?” She moved to sit up, hand cradling her forehead. “Geez, I'm sorry man…” I knew it the second she realised she wasn’t at the party. It was in the widening of her eyes. It had been sweet that she thought she had passed out drunk but this was going to be so much worse for her than some embarrassment and a hangover bu the quicker she came around to her current circumstances the better. My brothers would be here soon. And I didn’t want to share her. “Where the f**k am i?” she was climbing onto her feet, her gaze sweeping around the room with a bewildered look bringing her eyebrows tight together. She was an intelligent woman, she must realise just by the décor that she was a long long way from home? “Where am I? Why... why the hell am I in a castle?” she giggled nervously. “And who are you? I'm sorry I don’t rem…”She sucked in her breath. She might not know my name but she knew who I was. I had seen her looking at us more than once.  “Where am I?” I groaned, finally pulling myself to standing. Just a tiny glimpse of power, enough to make her endless, pointless questions go away. I was tired of them. “Welcome to hell sweetcheeks” I flashed eyes at her, glinting red. It was only a second but that’s all it took. She opened her mouth and screamed. And screamed. And screamed.
