The Divine Quest

360 Words
The Archangel Raphael showed unto me; He came from Heaven, and his words be: Go forth, man of the Divine's choosing; Tread unto the damned King's dwelling. . . . . . . Abandon your worries, have no fear, Bid your farewell to your lovely dear. For tonight you venture into the darkness, Where nameless horrors and tortures you'll witness. . . . . . . I, the Archangel, shall grant you my gifts; To see through the dark, as light through mists. Take this sword, of steel and Heavenly fire; It will cut your enemies, no matter how dire. . . . . . . To you I grant this Angelic shield, A silver barrier only you could wield. It will grant protection from the fires of Hell; It will guard you from the evils that in shadows dwell. . . . . . . I give unto you the Gauntlet of Heaven; Crafted by the greatest of the Angelic brethren. Take the Belt of Strength and wrap it around your waist; It will grant the you the power you need to make haste. . . . . . . The Helm and the Breastplate are yours to keep; They will make even the vilest creatures in fear weep. The Angel's Halo is the last of the gifts I'll give; It will grant you the light to arrive and leave. . . . . . . All these I grant unto you, my blessed warrior; Heavenly gifts in exchange for a Heavenly favor. All that I ask is that you banish the Demon King; For Asmodeus desires the rise of Hell's Second Ring. . . . . . . This is not a challenge, nor is it just a game; For it will grant you peace and blessing beyond riches and fame. This is the Quest, handed down by the Divine; This is the journey that will ensure the safety of mankind. . . . . . . The Divine Quest; as recounted by Amias // A poem from the Novel: Reborn: Age of Heroes by Matthew Spades. . . . . . . Copyright Protected. All rights reserved.
