First but worst day at office

He was continuously glaring her. Suddenly he realised the changed atmosphere of office. Everyone was looking at him.
“What’s your name?" Richard asked her harshly.
Patricia looked at him. She made eye contact with Richard. She immediately recognized him. She got nervous. This is the same man whose very expensive wine was dropped by her. She was terrified. This playboy, what is he doing here? Does he remember me? Because of him I lost my job. Will I lose this job too?
“Do you not understand English? I asked you what your name is." A sudden insulting and cold shivering voice came from that man. Patricia’s face became agitated. Words could not come out of her mouth. She hesitated and said, “Patricia Johns.”
Suddenly Richard stood up. He came to the. He grabbed Patricia's hand. “Okay Miss Patricia, come with me.” He pulled her to his personal cabin. All the interviewers and staff present in the office room were watching them.
Patricia could not understand what was happening. She tries to get her hand out of Richard's hand. “So Miss Patricia, if you consider yourself so capable and understand that you are better than others, then I want to give you a chance. If you are so confident about your work: You have one month. You will have to do the work that is given to you. If you are failed, you must be thrown out of the company!!" He said in arrogant voice.
Patricia was shocked to hear this. She got into thinking what is this all about.is it some kind of challenge? Is he taking revenge for spoiling his costly wine? There is no trust of these rich people. May be, they will throw her out of the company. She was not able to understand. Suddenly she saw that he was very close to her. There was a gap of few centimeters in their midst. He came even closer to the Patricia. Approaching her ears, he said to Patricia, "What happened, are you nervous?"
Patricia was sweating on her forehead. Her chicks were turning red with shame. As if she had become dumb. There was a complete silence in the cabin. Richard's eyes were staring at her as if he would eat her and she was stealing her eyes. He saw that the Patricia is not saying anything. He became exasperated. He asked the Patricia displeasingly.
“Are you dumb? Can’t you do it?”
Patricia thought that even though it is a challenge, this job is her dream job. She will not get such a job again. Sherry also came to know this job from a big source. If she is thrown out then no any other company in H city will employ her. She understood that she has already pissed this man off. Because of this man, it is not easy to survive in this company. She has to be very good at work and have to prove herself.
“Okay I will do it" She said with little confidence in her eyes.
Richard was watching her eyes. There is definitely something in this girl. Despite being in front of her, she is not nervous.
“Okay, then sign this employee contract and start working from now on.”
"From now??"
"Yes from now, otherwise you can go. I must say no any company in H city will hire you."
On hearing this, Patricia horridly took her bag and started to read her contract. She signed the both copies and gave one of the copies to him. Richard called his assistant to help her to show her cabin. This scene had become popular in the entire company. Someone spread the news that CEO grabbed the hand of an interviewer and took her to his cabin. Every person was looking at her when she came out. People were talking strange by looking at her.
Richard deliberately gave her desk in front of his cabin. He could see her from his office window. Patricia sat quietly on her desk. She took the file and started focusing on current work but Richard's sharp eyes were still staring at her. She could not understand, this man could be so overbearing.
"Patricia, take this project and work on it. This is one of very special project for us." Senior said smilingly.
“Okay mam." Patricia took the work given by her senior. She poked her head in files. She was closely watching the requirements of the new designs.
Suddenly a voice came " Patricia, Is that you?
Patricia turned and looked back. He was the senior of her college, Felix. He was looking very smart in formal dress. He was one of the good looking boys in the school. Patricia had a crush on him but she never told him anything. Felix had gone abroad as soon as school was over. Patricia never thought she would ever meet him again, and would not have thought this way.
“Hey Felix, how are you here? You were gone to abroad? When did you come back?" She asked excitingly. Her happiness was reflecting through her eyes.
“My studies were over and my mother was alone here so I came back. My grades were good; I got the job of senior executive here. You tell, how you here?" Felix was astonished by seeing her.
“I joined today for a designing staff” Patricia was as happy as him.
“So we will be working together. But I will be your senior just like in high school.” Felix laughed harder.
They were talking frankly as if they never be apart. Suddenly Patricia felt some cold wave, just like someone was staring at them with a great anger. She looked in other direction. Richard had folded both of his hand and was giving a sharp glance towards them.
"She did not join for even an hour and boys started hovering around her. Such a characterless girl. Last night she was in my bed and today she is luring this office staff. She is trying to attract all other boys on her side." He was getting offended. In his eyes she was a girl who can do anything for money. He left his cabin as he got a call from conference room.
Patricia continued her working on her desk. She thought herself lucky to have a job in such reputed company. She should thank Sherry. If it’s not because of her, she would not get this job.
It was around lunch time. Felix came to her desk again.
“Let’s go Patricia, have some lunch."
Patricia was waiting for this day since her school time. She always wanted to have lunch with him but her afraid he might refuse it. Now he is the only one asking her to have a lunch with him. Patricia became so happy. They both left the desk and walked towards the canteen. All of her colleagues were so jealous of her. Felix was known for his conservative nature. He was in this fashion company since 4 years but he didn’t ask anyone for a lunch. All the female staff was looking at them and feeling envied of her.
“She might have seduced our CEO Sir to get this job." One said.
“Look how she is seducing Felix too." Other one added.
“She is a total slut."
All girls were talking rubbish about her. They want her to be thrown out from this company.
Patricia was unaware of all these things. Felix brought food for himself and for Patricia. They have a lot to talk about their friends, seniors and teachers. Felix and Patricia having a good time together. They recalled their school time. Patricia was so busy in talking with him that she was unable to notice a tall man standing behind them.
"Don’t you know how to respond to your boss? You don't have manners in you? So busy in Chit chatting in canteen that you forget to stand." a domineering voice made her expression blunt.
Patricia looked back. He was the CEO of his company, Richard Benn. He turned red in anger. Patricia looked around. All the staff was standing except just those two.
Patricia felt ashamed. She stood up, bowed down and told her boss “sorry sir.”
“I have given you a month to prove yourself, not for chitchatting and making boyfriend. An arrogant voice came from his side. His glance was showing cruelty.
“Sir we were talking about our current project hence we forget to greet you, please forgive us.” Felix came in forward to protect Patricia.
This made Richard more unsympathetic. He did not say anything and left the canteen immediately. He walked towards his cabin.
“she served right. She deserves this kind of treatment.” All the staff looked at Patricia and started gossiping and said in a confused voice.
“My crush Felix, she would snatched him from me.” one said.
“Don’t worry; we will take care of her. Soon you can see her being thrown out of this company.” Other evil one.
Patricia went to her desk and continued her work. Suddenly she felt a cold glare from one side. She headed up. It was Richard again. Throwing his cold glares on her face. Patricia decided to ignore him. Patricia always hated rich people. She had seen many rich boys in her school. According to her, these people do not have any feelings for anyone. They were complete spoilt brat. They used to bully all weak and poor ones. This man is no different than them. Just for sake of wine this man is going this extent. He has not left a chance to insult her.
Richard felt her ignorance. No one dared to ignore him until today. He felt his ego was crushed under a feet by someone. His expressions were aloof. His anger has grown to an extent. No girl in the city wanted to miss a single chance to attract Richard and this girl, not even giving it a thought
“What does this girl think of herself? Overlooking me again and again. I will definitely teach a lesson to her." All of sudden his phone rang. It was his close friend Max. Who was also the owner of Hotel Della?
“Hey Richard, What has happened to you? I heard you left the hotel room so early last night." He said teasingly.
“Why? Can’t I leave early? And why are you asking? What do you have to do with it? Richard was completely pissed till now.
“Why do you keep getting so angry? Not good for your health.” Max was little concerned.
“I am not in good mood. Tell me what happened?” Richard said in irritatingly
“Are you free tomorrow? I have a plan. We did not drink together for a long time. Let's go to the Retro bar?” Max was enthusiastic guy. He was always ready for some night party.
“I don’t want to go anywhere and also I have some work. You should carry on with your plan.” Richard was sounding so rude.
“Are you coming or do I say to Suzy that your health is bad? Then she will come to your house and…”
Are you my friend or enemy? I am coming tell me what time to come?
Nine pm sharp. I will pick you." Max hung up.
It was eight o'clock. Office hours were over. Everyone was putting their desk stuff down and leaving for home. Patricia received a call from the hospital. On this entire hectic day she forgot that her mother's operation was going to happen. She came quickly down the office by lift.
As soon as she came to the parking lawn of building, she saw that Felix was waiting for her. Felix's polite smile could make any girl crazy.
He called her “Patricia, will you coming with me? I would drop you to your home."
Patricia was like she is in her dreams. She did not have any kind of talk when they were in school but now he is offering her a drop. Unfortunately she was going to the hospital.
"Thanks Felix for asking, but I have to go out for some work today."
"Then tell me where, I will send you off."
