ch.1 Ceremony

The new girl Su is driving me insane. She’s always persistent on dressing me up for parties. Definitely the strangest girl I’ve ever met in my twenty years of life. Dyed blue hair to match her eyes, skinny, beautiful, bold personality, which suited the black silky dress she's wearing now. She always knows things about me that I never mentioned before, like my favourite colour and who my old classmates were. That’s just the tip of the iceberg. Every time I try to question how she knew something, I would get the brush off and told we use to go to high school together. I really have no recollection of her. Although one would think I would have at least one memory of this girl. I feel bad for not remembering. Hence the guilt trip to get me into this gaudy outfit. I'm in a silk white sequins dress that flowed down to my ankles, and a low V neckline that exposes quite a bit. If you include my black hair in an extravagant up-do and the make-up, it was quite the confidence booster. I had to admit I looked really hot. Something I will never let that tiny tornado know about after all our arguments. I was lost in thought while Su drove us to this new popular club that she swore was the hottest one in town. Though no one at college seemed to know about it. I got the brush off again when I mentioned it to her. She claimed it was for the elite and you have to be invited. Mentioning her boss was an elite and does business their all the time, bringing her with him to learn. I guess it makes sense, she seems to only own expensive brands. I don't even want to know how much money she spent on the dress I'm wearing right now. "Carrie... Carrie. Are you listening to me. I said we're here. Come on. " Su interrupted my thoughts. I heaved a big sigh of disapproval before we stepped out of her car. Walking up to a warehouse that looked abandoned was the nightclub. I noticed my best friend, Melanie's car in the parking lot. Thanking the big man upstairs that I won't be the only awkward one here tonight. I decided to text her that I was here as well, sending her a picture with a peace sign and puckered lips. It was our little inside joke. I waited a few minutes for a text back that never came. It must be too loud inside to hear her phone. I will just have to look for her when we get inside. As we got closer to the club entrance, I started to get a bad feeling. The parking lot seemed to be at full capacity, with loud music coming from the building. It seemed normal enough. There was just something about this place that didn't sit right with me. We walked through the door and you could see a few rooms with people dancing in them. No sign of Mel yet. The bouncer was a tall man with dark skin with a muscular build. Faint intricate tattoos reflected off the light everywhere you looked on this sexy beast. The most shocking part was his green dyed hair. We gave him our ID and I swear I saw a flash of green leaves in his eyes when he skimmed Su's ID. It must have been the pre-party drinks making me hallucinate again. He nodded motioning us to follow him to the staircase. "You and your friend can go upstairs to the blue room since you are a regular guest here." He directed all his attention too her. Well she seemed very important and rich. Probably best to try winning her favour then mine. It made my confidence dissipate quite a bit. Knowing I didn't deserve to have a handsome man look at me, even after the full make over. Su motioned for me to follow her up the short staircase. With a sad sigh, I started up them. "Let's just get this night over with. I'm not feeling the best." I told her, not wanting to be here anymore. Su as usual, knew and understood. She let out a little tinkling laugh like bells. "Oh Carrie I already told you that I wanted you to meet my hot single and very available boss. Don't worry about a nobody like him." She said before opening the door to the blue room. That’s when my whole life turned upside down. I was motioned to go in first while Su closed the door behind us. I was not prepared to see a bunch of girls passed out and shackled. Before I had time to react someone came up behind and grabbed me. I felt a sting at my neck as they injected something into my system. I caught sight of Melanie being carried through to another room unconscious. Everything started becoming blurry. I only had time to take in the fact all these women passed out were all wearing white dresses, including Melanie and I before I loss sight of her. I felt someone catch me before everything went dark and, hearing a faint, " .... sorry.... Carrie....." from Su, than nothing.
