Eva
My heart raced as I took in the sight, my mind struggling to process what I was seeing. Lorenzo's gaze met mine, and for a moment, we just stared at each other, the only sound being his labored breathing.
I felt like I was frozen in place, my legs unable to move, my voice caught in my throat.
"Lorenzo, oh my god, what happened?" I exclaimed, rushing towards him.
But to my surprise, Lorenzo's expression turned cold, his eyes hardening as he straightened up, his body language warning me to keep my distance.
"I don't need your help, Eva," he growled, his voice low and menacing. "Just leave me alone."
But I refused to back down. My concern and worry gave way to frustration and anger.
"Lorenzo, don't be ridiculous," I scolded, my voice firm and stern. "You're clearly hurt and in need of help. Stop being stubborn and accept my assistance."
Lorenzo's eyes widened in surprise, clearly not expecting me to stand up to him. He seemed taken aback by my boldness, his expression softening ever so slightly.
"I...I don't need your help," he repeated, but his voice lacked conviction.
I crossed my arms, my gaze fixed on him. "Don't lie to me, Lorenzo. You do need help, and I'm offering it. Now, are you going to accept it or do I need to call someone else for assistance?"
My stern tone seemed to snap him out of his stubbornness, and he nodded slowly, his eyes never leaving mine. "Fine...Eva."
I helped him to his bedroom, his arm around my shoulders, his limp more pronounced with each step. I couldn't help but feel a surge of concern for him.
As we reached the bed, I gently eased him onto the mattress, his eyes closing in relief.
"Enzo we need to call the doctor",I said looking at him.
"My doctor is busy treating my men who are more injured than me.They need medical help more than I do." He tells me in a low voice.
"Come on then, I'm cleaning you up" I said in a firm voice so he does not argue.
He opens his mouth to say something than changes his mind when i give him 'Don't you dare argue on this right now' look.
"Okay.Fine" He says with a sigh.
I helped him to the bathroom, his arm still around my shoulders, his legs wobbly beneath him.
As we reached the counter I gently sat Lorenzo on it, his eyes met mine, filled with a mix of pain and mischief.I searched for the first aid kit in the cabinet below and I found it.
I cupped his face in my hands, my thumbs tracing the curves of his cheeks. His skin was warm to the touch, and I could feel his tension melting away under my gentle caress.
I began to clean his face, my fingers brushing against his skin with a soft, soothing touch. His eyes closed, and a sigh escaped his lips as he relaxed into my care. I worked slowly, carefully, my heart aching at the sight of his bruises and cuts.
As I cleaned his face, my gaze lingered on his features, taking in the sharp angles of his jawline, the fullness of his lips, and the piercing gaze of his eyes. My touch was tender, my hands cradling his face as if it were a precious treasure.
Lorenzo's eyes fluttered open, his gaze locking onto mine. A sly smirk spread across his face, and he teased, "You're enjoying this, aren't you? Playing nurse to the big, bad Lorenzo."
I blushed, my cheeks flushing with color. "Shut up, Enzo," I replied, chuckling softly.
As I finished tending to Lorenzo's face, my gaze drifted down to his torso, where his shirt was stained with blood. My heart raced slightly at the sight, my concern for his well-being evident.
"Enzo, I need to check your torso," I said, my voice firm but gentle. "Remove your shirt, please."
Lorenzo's eyes locked onto mine, a hint of teasing in his voice. "You want to see my abs, Bella? Can't resist my charm?"
I rolled my eyes, laughing softly. "Just remove your shirt, Enzo."
He raised an eyebrow, his expression serious, but his eyes gleamed with a hint of mischief.
As Lorenzo removed his shirt, his torso was revealed, chiseled and defined, with tattoos adorning his arms and chest. The ink was dark and bold, a stark contrast to his pale skin. My eyes traced the lines of his tattoos, my mind wondering what stories they told.
The cut on his abdomen was shallow, but still nasty.
"Well, that's not too bad," I said, my voice professional. "It's shallow, but I'll clean and dress it to prevent infection."
I began to clean and dress the wound, my touch gentle and precise.
As I worked, Lorenzo's hands slid onto my hips, his fingers wrapping around me like a vice.
He pulled me closer, his legs spreading apart to accommodate me. I felt his leg lock behind mine, trapping me in place.
My heart raced as I realized how close we were, our bodies almost touching. Lorenzo's eyes never left mine, his gaze intense and piercing.
"You're very focused on your work, Bella ," he teased, his voice low and smooth.
I tried to step back, but his leg held me firm. "Enzo, let me go," I whispered, my voice barely audible.
But he just smirked , his eyes gleaming with mischief. "Not yet, Bella.".
I felt a flutter in my chest as Lorenzo's hands tightened on my hips, his fingers digging into my skin. I tried to push him away, but he was too strong.
"Enzo, stop," I whispered, my voice firm but shaky.
He just smirked, his eyes gleaming with a knowing intensity. "I've been waiting for a reason to get close to you, Bella," he whispered back, his voice low and husky.
My breath caught in my throat as his words sent a shiver down my spine. No one had ever spoken to me like that before, with such raw emotion and sincerity.
As I looked into Lorenzo's eyes, I saw something there that made my heart skip a beat.
I felt a surge of emotions, my mind racing with questions. "Then why did you avoid me for weeks?" I asked, my voice barely above a whisper. "Why did you ignore me, pretend like I didn't exist?"
Lorenzo's gaze faltered, his eyes dropping to the floor. "I was trying to protect you," he muttered, his voice low and rough.
"Protect me from what Enzo ?" I pressed, my heart pounding in my chest.
Lorenzo's eyes snapped back up, his gaze locking onto mine. "From me," he admitted, his voice barely audible. "From my darkness, my demons. I didn't want to hurt you, Bella."
I felt a pang in my chest, a spark of understanding. "And now?" I asked, my voice soft. "What's changed now?"
I felt a shiver run down my spine as his hands were still gripping my hips. I don't know Bella" he whispered, his breath hot against my ear. " You get under my skin like no one else can."
I felt my heart racing, my pulse pounding in my neck. "You avoided me," I whispered back, my voice barely audible.
Lorenzo's eyes flashed with regret. "I know. I was stupid. But just for this once, let me hold you," he whispered, his voice cracking with emotion. "Let me feel you against me, just for a moment. I promise I'll let you go, I'll leave you alone, just...please, Bella, just this once."
I felt my resolve weakening, my body responding to his desperation. I nodded, barely perceptibly, and Lorenzo's arms wrapped around me, pulling me close. His warmth enveloped me, his heart beating against mine, and for a moment, everything else faded away.
