Nora's POV
"Is that what you think of me? That I would use such abilities on you?" he asked, and I gulped, shaking my head. "Do you think I would use such powers against you?" he inquired, and I couldn't speak, only shaking my headin response.
He remained silent for a moment before explaining, "I only use that ability when I need to interrogate someone, nothing more." He turned to leave, but I grabbed his wrist, forcing him to face me.
"I didn't mean to accuse you. I was just curious about your other abilities," I pleaded, but the look in his eyes made it clear he didn't believe me. "I'm sorry, Lord Maddison," I added, still holding his gaze. He didn't say a word; instead, he held my gaze briefly, then removed my grip from his wrist and walked away.
