NOVENA
A strong arm catches me by the waist, pulling me back into a solid body. I know who it is without having to turn around and see. Oddly, I wonder why my body seems to come alive when our skin touches. I wonder how he makes a single cease feel like a million tiny sensations spreading like wildfire. I lean into him, enjoying his hand wrapped around my body. I don't care if I'm supposed to hate him. I don't even care that he is the reason my father is dead. I don't really care about much right now. I hear him hiss as I move my hips against him. He snatches the glass from my hand and sniffs the content.
"Daemones vinum. Devil's wine. You better start talking." He growls, his voice slimming in rage as he throws the glass into the closest wall.
I hear it smash into tiny pieces and still I find a bizarre smile curving the edges of my lips. Pallas continues to grin with pride over the edge of his cup, while I can't seem to pause my dancing even with the tension between the two princes.
"Showing your stunning mate here how to have a good time. All you do is lock her away." He complains on my behalf. "You should be ashamed. She dances so beautifully." He says running his eyes over the length of my clothes.
Zelus moves so quickly he makes my head spin. Pallas no longer has an uninterrupted view of my body.
"Best you make yourself scarce, cousin. For a long while, before I have to explain to our grandfather why he is minus one grandchild." He growls out between his teeth.
Zelus takes hold of my arm and escorts me from the room, but not before I see Huntley straining against new chains around his wrist while three women taste his skin. I find Selene laughing at his efforts to keep them away from him. Not before I see the five humans tied in the nude at the far side of the room. Blood coated the once clean floors as werewolves toss their heads back and laugh, throwing knives and darts into the defenseless humans fleshes. I meet the eyes of one women. Young and in the prime of her life, smiling at me as if she cannot feel anything happening to her. For some reason, I smile back.
