Aurora stood up and looked directly at Lily and Angela. Then she turned her head and looked at Felix. “Felix,” she wondered, “have you mentioned me in a certain derogatory way? Have you got it into your head somehow that I am egotistical, or that I am in love with myself?"
Aurora said these words with a hint of irony in the eyes.
"Aurora,” Felix replied, “don't misunderstand me. All that I said was that I didn’t want to talk about our relationship. I do not understand how the one expression leads to your assumption…"
Felix was more than a little upset by Aurora’s words. Not only did he not want to argue with Aurora, but he wanted to foster a good relationship with her and, perhaps, one day, attain the jade that had so captured his thoughts.
