Chapter Eight

2200 Words
~Aiden~ I lost control of myself with Faith and part of me hoped she would stop me, that she would push me away, slap me or yell at me for kissing her, yet instead she answers my kiss, she intensified it trying to pull us closer together and that only makes my control slip even more as I hover over her, nipping her lip gently so I do not break her skin as I kiss her. "We can't hurt mate, we have already proven our saliva heals her and I'm sure matting with her will help heal her as well," Fang speaks in my mind as her scent overwhelms me, everything about her does, yet I need to stop. "Why do you keep denying our fate? She belongs to us as we belong to her," Fang growls in my head as she parts her lips, allowing me to deepen the kiss even more. But that action actually sets Fang off within me as he ponders why she seems experienced and the thought of anyone touching her other than us drives him mad. Fang already insisted when I first got her back here to heal her, we took extra time healing her so our scent was on her. He is dead set on not allowing me to leave her. It is not that I do not want her, I want her badly, but I am not human and not just that, I am a rogue. She will never be safe with me. Her hands move under my shirt as she explores my upper body while we continue kissing. As I break away from her lips, I look into her eyes for a moment. I need to know this is really what she wants. She has been through a good amount today and even more in the past few months, and I do not want her to see our actions right now as a mistake. It takes almost everything out of me to push myself away from her for a moment. Her eyes now search mine for a moment. "Why did you stop?" she whispers. "You have had a rough day. I don't want to take advantage of your state right now," I admit to her. "I like you too," she whispers. "You are not taking advantage of me. I would have told you to stop, but I appreciate how you don't want to do something you think I may regret. But I promise what just happened, I do not regret," she says to me. "You wanted me to kiss you?" I ask her. "You surprised me, but once you kissed me, I didn't want you to stop. I still don't want you to stop, so don't unless it's really what you want," she says as I pull back up the bed and with the rest of my control, I move next to her instead of kissing her. I need to face the fact that, even if I think I'm a danger to her, I would never be able to leave her. Fang alone would stop me, I don't want anyone else to have her. If anything, I need to keep her safe. The Moon Goddess chose me for her. With that, I can't take things further with her until she knows the truth. I know well that if I were to sleep with her right now, she may hate me when she learns the truth afterwards. "I don't want to stop, but I don't want to go too fast with you. So for now, I'll just stay with you. And if you want, I'll hold you so you can sleep, since you still need more to fully recover. If you want, I have t-shirts in that top dresser drawer. You can change into them so you're more comfortable. They'll be long on you, so you can use it as a night shirt," I offer her. "Thanks," she says as she gets out of the bed for a moment and grabs one. Then she goes into the small bathroom. She doesn't take long and then comes out dressed in one. It drops down right above her knees, but as I look at her, I notice several large bruises on her legs. "I thought you said you weren't injured from the fall," I say worried. "I wasn't bad. I just bruise easily. See," she says as she shows me her arm and I see bruises where he held her. I snap out of bed, knowing well that when I saw her, he had his hand wrapped around her. "Faith, are you bruised anywhere else?" I ask her. "Yes, but I'll be okay." "Show me," I say, trying to stay calm, but I need to know just how bad before Fang goes wild within me. "I would have to lift the shirt," she whispers. "I need to see," I say to her. "I understand," she responds as she pulls the shirt up, not only up but off. And, she only has panties on. She has several bruises working up her body, one under her chest. Some seem older than others as I move closer to look at her. She seems calm, too calm standing so exposed like this. I had not noticed any of these bruises earlier when I was healing her and had no idea if my saliva would do anything for these. "You already know what will heal her," Fang speaks in my head as I reach my hand out, brushing my finger against the one under her chest without even thinking about it while she stays still. "Why are you so comfortable like this?" I ask. "I've spent a lot of time in hospitals being examined to treat me, and I understand your need to know I'm okay since I'm with you right now," she says. "So, are you going to start kissing my bruises like you did my cut?" she asks, surprising me. "I felt your lips on me before I passed out from the drugs you gave me. You healed me, so I did not want to question it too much," she says. "Yes, I did. Let's get your shirt back on, and then I'll try my best to explain," I say to her as I grab the shirt and pull it over her head, my hand brushing against her bare skin momentarily. She feels perfect, and then I help her into the bed. I honestly do not even know how to tell her as I gently pull her against me. "Are you comfortable with me holding you like this?" I ask her. "Yes, I don't like being alone when I sleep since I tend to focus on memories I want to forget, so this is nice," she admits. "Faith, if I tell you the truth, you need to promise me you will listen to me until I'm done, and you won't run," I say to her. "Is it really that bad?" she asks. "It's more so something you won't believe," I say to her. "I have the ability to heal you because I'm not human," I start off. "Not human, as in like an alien or something?" she asks, surprisingly calm. "I'm a werewolf," I answer. "Werewolf, like in the movies?" she asks. "No, those are pretend. I was born this way," I explain as she pulls out of my arms for a moment and turns so she is looking at me. "Show me," she says, surprising me. "If you're a werewolf, prove it to me. I'm someone that needs to see things to believe them," she states. This room is too small for me to shift, so instead, I allow Fang to partially move forward, allowing wolf ears to form on my head and my claws to extend. As predicted, she finally loses her calm as she gets off the bed, but she does not run. "Y-you are telling the truth," she stammers. "Yes, and for my kind, we are given a destined mate. For humans, it is similar to what you call a soul mate. We are made for each other, and as a werewolf, I can sense my mate by smell. But not just that, I can heal my mate. Faith, you are my Fated mate. We were made for each other," I continue. "You can heal me because we are soul mates," she whispers. I know she is trying her best to process this. "Can I touch your ears?" she asks, surprising me again. I slowly move closer and bend my head so she can. "They're real," she mutters. "So, you are a wolf, and I'm your mate," she repeats. "Yes, there is much more, but that's at least a start," I respond. "These men after me, were they like you?" she asks me. "Yes," I admit. "Why do they want me?" she asks. "Because you are special, but to get the full answer, we need Josh since he knows more," I explain. "Josh, is he like you?" she asks me. "No, he is a witch," I respond. "I guess that makes sense. He says weird things," she mutters, still a lot calmer than I imagined she would be. She gets back on the bed. "You promise over time you will tell me everything," she says, looking me in the eyes. "Yes, I promise," I respond. "Then, I want to be with you. I don't understand why, but you're the first person I've ever been able to feel calm with, and your touch feels safe. I want to get to know you, even if you are a werewolf," she admits. "We can't leave, mate. She accepts us," Fang states in my mind. "She accepts some of us, but yes, unless she asks us to leave, we will stay with her," I say to him in my mind. "Thank you for healing me. I have a feeling you did so in the hospital as well, and thank you for showing up when I needed someone the most," she admits as I see water in her eyes. It is clear she keeps her emotions locked away, when in reality, she is suffering. "I'll be here for you as long as you want me to be," I promise her. "I too have no one. Most werewolves are members of packs, but I am not. I am a rogue wolf, meaning I am unwanted and unwelcome, seen as a threat by many pack wolves. If you want to stay with me, your life will never be easy. I have to move around a lot and am constantly up against danger, since most packs will attack rogues. I'm strong and have survived well on my own, and I know I can protect you as well. But if you choose to be with me, you will have to stay with me, since when any other wolf learns you are my mate, they may use you to get to me. And you already face other dangers. I promise you will learn the truth," I explain to her, as she needs to understand. "I have nothing going for me here. I basically work to pay my medical bills. I don't mind moving around. I know you were able to heal me these two times, but I do get sick a lot, and I could also be a burden," she admits to me. "I'm going to find a way so you don't get sick often anymore. Since we are mates, I should be able to help with that. Even if you decide not to stick with me, I'm going to find a way to make you better," I promise her. I understand what she means as I can feel how her health is not good due to what she is facing, but I am hopeful that possibly being with me will help her. "For now, I want to be with you, and I'm sure the more you tell me will not change how I feel, because I already like you and feel safe with you," she admits. "You said we are soul mates. If that is true, maybe that's why the thought of you disappearing from me, even when we just met, scares me because I already don't want a life without you." "Mate is human, yet it is clear she feels a strong connection, maybe due to what happened to her. We need to put our mark on her. I have a feeling it will help her," Fang insists. "We will, when the time is right. For now, she has learned enough for the night. I refuse to mark her until she knows the truth about herself and what my mark means," I admit to my wolf in my mind. I pull Faith into my embrace again, allowing her to get comfortable so she can get the rest she really needs. Once I am sure she is asleep, I whisper against her, "I am already deeply in love with you, a feeling I never imagined I would experience. Even if you are not my kind, I will keep you safe." I promise as I relax, knowing she is safe in my embrace.
