Chapter 11: Hangout

“What is he doing here?” Travis said in a cold tone.

“Well, good morning to you too Travis, and hey thank you for asking me if I am now okay?” I joked to lessen the tension.

I can see how his expression changed, from a serious one to a worried one.

He looked at me in the eye before he sighed.

“Sorry..I’m just pissed of.. it is not wise for him to be here, and it will do no good to you. Believe me, you should have learned already-“ he stopped as if he realized that he had said to much.

My lips parted, I can see that he is also surprised by what he has said.

“W-what are you saying?”

“Ahhh..don’t mind me, it is nothing.. I am just spitting nonsense!” He said looking disturbed.

“But-“

“Please Ms. Brown, just let it go..” he said before he left me dumbfounded.

I don’t understand. I feel like somehow he knows something.

Why do I feel like he is giving me a warning?

I am sure, Travis is not that guy! Their voice is different! Plus, Travis is shorter than the guy at the party! So I know, he is not that guy!

If the guy is at the party, most likely he is an employee of Soleil! He might have been tracking me or something! I bet, he even knows where I live! Maybe I should move out of my apartment? But where will I go? Can I find a place that is as practical as my place now?

No! that can’t be! I will stay in my apartment and just add some more locks on my door!

Yes, that’s right! That’s what I will do!

“Hey, it’s still early! Why don’t we hang out first?” Lola asked as we are walking out of the lobby.

“Good idea! I’m so stressed with my calculus subject! I need to have fun!” Ava said.

“Uhmnn.. I think I’ll pass.” I said that made them stopped from walking and turned to me.

“Seriously Calli?! Come on! You’re always going home early! It’s not as if you have a curfew!” Polly teased.

“Well-“

“We won’t accept no this time!” Naomi said while smirking.

And before I can even protest the girls are already pulling me.

The girls brought me KELSTONS, it is a café near our office. They wanted to relieve stress by eating sweets and even though I really wanted to go home now, I can’t protest because this is the first time I joined them and I know they will feel bad if I will still say no.

It is getting darker now, I am now getting worried, maybe I will just take a service taxi even if that means I will spend a fortune!

“Oh..is that Paxton?!” Ava said while pointing at the counter.

I turned my head at where they are looking and they are right. Paxton is the counter buying some I don’t know? Maybe cake? Or frappe?

“Hey Paxton!” my eyes widen when Polly called him.

I almost smack Polly’s arm because of embarrassment.

Paxton turned to where we are and he smiled when our eyes met. He waved at us and motioned that he will go to us after his transaction.

The girls are having fun teasing me and my cheeks are already feeling hot.

“Hi girls!” he greeted them then turned to me. “Calli..” he called my name and I just gave him a shy smile when I heard the girls giggled.

“Hey Paxton! What are you doing here?” Ava asked.

“Just grabbed some sweets for my little sister.” He said while giving us a shy smile.

“Wow! What a sweet brother! I wish my brother is as sweet as you are!” Naomi said but Ava pinched her cheeks.

“You don’t have a brother my friend!”

“Oh.. yeah, I forgot!” Naomi said that made us laughed.

“You have your car with you Paxton?” Polly asked while smiling as if she’s thinking something naughty.

“Yes..” Paxton nodded.

“Well.. I was thinking, maybe you can drop Calli home if It is okay with you?”She asked which made my eyes grow wide.

“Polly!” I hissed.

“Yes! Can you drop her home? She’s not used to going home late!” Ava added.

“No, no! don’t mind them!” I said as I shook my head.

But Paxton being a sweet guy just gave us his boyish smile as he agreed without even blinking!

“Oh sure, no problem! I can do that!”

“Really, Paxton you don’t have to! I can take a service taxi-“

“Oh no, you won’t!” Polly said while shaking his head.

“But-“

“No buts!” Ava said in a serious tone that all I can do is to shake my head.

“Calli..come one, we will feel better if we know that you are in a safe hand!”

“Yes! Polly is right! So please? Please? Pretty please?” Naomi said cutely.

So all I can do is to look at Paxton who is hiding a smile.

“Fine!” I gave up.

“Yes!” they all said in unison that made my eyes roll and made the girls giggle!

We continued eating and Paxton sat with us. We had a good time that made us forget the time.

I am so thankful that Paxton is driving me home, or else I would be so nervous and scared right now!

“Thank you for dropping me home. I really appreciate it.” I said when we arrived in front of my building.

“Hey it’s no big deal!” he said before winking at me that made me blush.

“Well then.. I need to go.” I said before I removed my seat belt. I went out of his car and said my goodbyes again.

“Bye!” he said and waved at me before going.

“Drive safely!” I shouted.

I was all smiles when I entered my apartment. It is already almost 10 pm, and the building is really silent now.. seems like people are already sleeping. As I closed the door I look for the switch of the light. But before I got the chance to open it, someone grabbed my arm and covered my mouth before I can even scream!

My eyes widen and my heart almost stopped beating because of how scared I am!

Oh no not again! Oh please no..no..no!

And because I am so scared the next thing I know is that I passed out!
