Alice's POV "HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!" Everyone claps and Nova is filled with smiles and giggles as everyone finished singing to her. Everything is perfect, except the tension I feel radiating off of Andrew, Chris, and my dad. They are being slightly overprotective of Star, which I understand. The night finally comes to an end and Nova has fallen asleep in Landon's arms. After all the guests have left the castle, only immediate family and friends remain. I told them they are welcomed to spend the night, which they agreed to. I walk with Landon and tuck our little princess into bed, giving her a kiss on the forehead. Landon had asked everyone to join in in the living room to catch up. Upon entering the room, I see that Landon and I are the last to arrive. "Sarah, you can place Franklin in the room next to Nova's. Her former crib is in there." She thanks me and carries the sleeping pup to the room. I had linked a guard to show her the way since this place is huge. We spend the next few hours talking and laughing, which I had missed so much. Words can't describe how much I love these people in the room with me. "Andrew and I have to leave soon, but I was wondering if I could talk with Rose, Kevin, and Jackson in private before our departure." Star spoke sternly, tension clear in the air. She and Andrew stand up, and I link her the code for my private office. My parents look between Star and the their best friends who look utterly confused. I feel the same way. I wonder what is going on. Star's POV Knowing that Andrew and I must return home soon, I cut to the chase and ask for Rose, Jackson, and Kevin to join me in a private chat. Alice linked me the code and I locked the door once the five of us were in the office. "Star, is everything okay?" Rose asked me, worry laced in her voice. I take a deep breath, "You may want to sit for what I have to say. She looks at her mates before sitting on the sofa between the both of them. I begin to feel nervous all of a sudden, scared of how they will react and what will happen to their relationship. They deserve to know the truth though. Andrew grabs my hand and rubs my back with the other. I begin to instantly calm down at the touch of my mate. "I'm sure you all know how Kevin use to be before meeting you, Rose. The whole partying and drinking in the human towns and being the flirt he was with she wolves and humans." I notice how Rose stiffens and lets out a low growl. Kevin looks ashamed and Jackson grabs Rose's hand and places a kiss on it. "That was in the past. Why are you bringing this up?" Kevin asked with an attitude. "Hey, there's a reason. Drop the attitude. Star is your future moon goddess! Respect her!" I look at Andrew with a smile. I love how protective he is of me. "Sorry." He muttered out, rubbing his hands through his hair in frustration. "I understand the outburst, but please just listen to what I have to say before asking questions." I state and he nods his head. "You and my grandpa Avery were out one night in the human bar, and you ended up spending the night with this woman." I pull my phone out and show him a picture on it. It's a picture that Selene had sent to me as proof. He stares at it for awhile before remembering her. Once I see he recognizes her, I continue. "She was not who you think she was." All three of them stare at me with anticipation. "Being the powerful woman she is, she disguised herself and scent with magic. That woman is Selene. The Moon Goddess." All three jaws hit the floor and I feel bad for Rose. I can see how hurt she looks mixed with the shock. Tears flow out of her eyes and my chest tightens with guilt. "Ar-are they mates?" Rose asked with a clenched fist. "No. She doesn't have a mate, so she will choose one." I explain. "NO!" Kevin shouts. "I will not leave Rose." I raise an eyebrow at him, confused at first. "Oh! No! I'm so sorry. I didn't mean it like that. She's not choosing you as a mate, don't worry!" I rush my words out to calm them. I hadn't thought about it like that when I spoke initially. "Then why are you telling us about this now?" Jackson speaks up for the first time. "I- don't know any easy way to say this." I start to fidget with my fingers until Andrew grabs them and makes me stop. "You have a daughter. Her name is Zola." I pull my phone out once again and show them her photo. The resembelance to Kevin is noticeable and can't be denied.
