-- Davina -- *Bonding Ceremony* I stared in awe at the clear reflection in the gold engraved mirror and thought if the woman was really me or not. Covered in an elegant midnight blue gown and adorned with jewels that I'd hardly ever seen, dolled up in the prettiest way. She looked beautiful, graceful and magnificent, just like a Queen should be. Growing up in the small town as a farmer's daughter I wasn't any of that and unexpected circumstances lead to this day were I was being crowned the most important lady of the kingdom. A Queen has many responsibilities that I was doubtful I'll be able to fulfil but I had to give my best because I chose this, I stepped forward and accepted this fate along with the casualties that came with it. "My lady, he's waiting for your arrival." Elizabeth said from the other side of the door softly, taking a deep breath I stood up carefully and opened the door for her to come in. "It's time, My lady." She bowed little and smiled softly, her motherly warm features offered some comfort to me. "Elizabeth, I've told you to call me Davina when it's only us. Please come in." "Force of habit, My lady. It will take some time to get used to." "If you say so. I need your help getting the veil up." I asked gesturing to the long sparkling veil placed on the bed. A veil was only used during weddings but I wasn't being wed. The bonding ceremony wasn't like weddings, it bounds the soul and breaths of two through oath and is unbreakable, much more powerful than an easily breakable matrimonial bond. The King was generous enough to let me wear a veil to fulfil my wish of feeling like a bride. The veil wasn't the customary white but same midnight colour as the gown I was wearing, it had many more sparkles though. Once my veil was on Elizabeth guided me out of the dressing room and towards the grand hall were most of the kingdom was waiting for my arrival along with the king. Grand set of stairs laid before my feet as we stopped just before it. My fingers tighten around Elizabeth's hand and my veil covered face left neutral. Soft instrumental music flowed like a beautiful scent in the air as we took slow step towards the waiting crowd. Hundreds of eyes were fixed on me and his was one of them. A Queen is not only a Queen when she becomes one, the duties and decorum started before and remains after. So with my chin up and stead steps I confidently moved towards the stage where my King was waiting for me.
