Chapter 6

Mihai POV

I hope she’s okay, I didn’t mean to give her a panic attack. And why did she start panicking? I only asked her for her name, I could hear her heart racing and her blood pulsing through her veins I knew she was in panic. What is she afraid of? Or rather who? I must say, she is very beautiful for a human that is. Belmont is lucky, well sort of, he did wait over 450 years for her, I liked Eveline but I knew she wasn’t his beloved. I was still sitting at the table, I didn’t want to leave her like this, he’ll go berserk if he knew and I didn’t make sure she was fine. Although her eyes are dull, like all her happiness have been taken away, sometimes I wish I could read minds like my dear mother, then I would know what is going on. Well for now we will do it the old fashioned way, make friends, gain her trust, introduce them and voila! One happily ever after.

Suddenly I picked up her scent and saw her walking over to me, a very fake smile on her face. Oh how I hope he can put the spark back in her eyes.

“You’re still here? Did you need anything else?” she said, still with the fake smile.

“No, I just needed to make sure you’re fine. Are you though?” I asked with concern.

“Yes, yes I’m perfectly fine thanks. Sorry again for scaring you.” She said and this time she was being honest.

“Well then I’m glad, see you sometime Alice. You make sure to eat something okay?” I said standing and heading to the door.

“I will thank you.” She gave me a small wave and turned to the other customers as I exited the diner and walked to my car. I was about to get in when my phone rang.

“Your High…” I got cut off

“Where is she?!” he bellowed

“She’s at work sir, I just left. I am heading to the apartment now.” I said calmly, something is up with Belmont.

“Okay I’ll see you there.” He hung up

Well that’s rude, but that’s Belmont, he must be upset about the spy and the fact that I am alone with his beloved, or Mate as they say. Speaking of I think I’ll call my beloved on the way there, I do miss her and the children terribly.

Belmont POV

Where is he? What’s taking so long? I’m going out of my mind not knowing. Come on Mihai! I’m so on edge I just want to punch something! I looked around for something to punch when my eyes landed on the coffee table, I walked over to it and just as I was about to smash it into pieces I heard his voice.

“Really Belmont, going all out Hulk now? Since when are you so aggressive?” he asked calmly his arms folded over his chest he looked at me sternly. I sighed and plopped down on the couch defeated, tired, worn out and still in pain.

“Sorry, I don’t know what’s going on, it’s as if I can’t control myself anymore and that frustrates the living s**t out of me even more. I need her Mihai, I feel as if I’m dying. A slow painful death.” I felt the tears sting my eyes and I blinked them away, great now I went from Hulk to a crying school girl is 2 seconds flat. Wonderful, I’m out of control. I rested my head in my hands taking a few deep breaths.

Mihai placed his hand on my shoulder and spoke calmly

“Belmont, let’s go to the gym. Get some of the frustration out, what do you say?” I nodded and stood up heading to my room to get my work out clothes. I changed and when I entered the gym Mihai was waiting by the punching bag.

“So punching the bag first?” I said walking up while loosening my shoulders and neck. Rolling my shoulders and head and jumping from foot to foot “Why do I hear Eye of the Tiger” Duke joked and I chuckled at his words. Mihai waited for me to get into position before he cleared his throat and started telling me what happened to my mate. By the time he was finished I was shaking with anger my eyes glowed bright gold and I let out a growl that shook the room.

“I think she’s afraid of someone Belmont, and you felt her pain didn’t you? That’s why you were so on edge.” He said as calm as always, I on the other hand punched the bag so hard it exploded, I then turned my attention to him, he hurt my mate. I’ll kill him! I stormed at him with lightning speed and threw punches left and right, not landing one. He has vampire speed, but he just kept dodging. It infuriated me more.

“Keep still so that I can f*****g kill you!" I screamed but he didn’t, he anticipated my rage even before I came in here. After what felt like hours I was on my knees, exhausted and breathing heavily. Mihai was also out of breath but still on his feet. He is the best after all.

“If you’re up for it, I do have a plan though. Care to listen?” he asked holding out his hand to me. I nodded my head yes and grabbed his hand getting on my feet. I looked around the wrecked gym and turned around leaving to get a shower. I hope his plan works.

When I got out of the shower I heard Mihai talking and then a woman’s voice, when I opened my bedroom door I recognized the voice instantly. Walking into the living room I smiled brightly at the beautiful woman next to Mihai.

“Valerie how are you my dear?” I took her hand and kissed it lightly, she gave me a small curtsy and smiled.

“Very well your highness.” She said in her soft motherly voice. She had silver white hair like Mihai, but her eyes were a deep purple but except for my mate, her beauty is unparalleled. But do not underestimate this lovely delicate lady, she can kill you in a hundred different ways in under a minute. She is one of our best assassins, she is the ultimate femme fatale.

I looked over to the dining room table and saw the servants are serving dinner, my stomach growled because I skipped breakfast and lunch. Not sure how, I usually eat a lot. So I gestured for them to join me and we took our seats. We dished up and ate dinner with light conversation. After dinner we moved to the living room and I took a seat opposite them.

“So Mihai, you have a plan?” I asked

He and Valerie shared a look and she turned to me “Yes your highness”

“Please call me Belmont, am I not family?” I asked her with a smile she smiled shyly and nodded

“As you wish, Belmont I will befriend her, your beloved. It is clear of what Mihai explained that she does not trust, well men.” She said, and for the first time ever I could see a little bit of fear in her eyes. This hurt me, that my friends, nay my family was scared of me. But I knew why, Mihai told her what happened in the gym. I regretted my actions, this is not the man I am. Yes I’m a fierce ruler and I have little enemies because I’m feared, but I am and never will be ruthless.

“Mihai, my friend and brother I must apologize for my actions earlier. I acted in bad form, while you were trying to help me. Can you forgive me old friend?” I asked sincerely.

“Of course Belmont, I understand your actions. Being away from your beloved, especially when you just found her is tough. No judgement brother.” He said smiling and I felt the relief wash over me.

“Thank you, I truly don’t deserve you. So Valerie, please tell me how am I going to get my mate?”
