I can't even look Taylor in the eyes because I'm so enraged at him. I can't believe I just confessed to him, yet despite everything he's done, I still like him for being himself.
I don't mind his demeanor; I simply like him. I understand that there is a reason for his bitterness and grief.
I simply stayed on the rooftop after leaving my room last night. It's quite tranquil and calm. I just stood there staring at the night sky, unsure of what might happen next. I went back to my room after my quiet time. Taylor should still be at school, but he isn't. He had such a restful night's sleep. I, too, drifted to dreamland after turning out the light.
I'm currently staring at the whiteboard while my professor gives his lecture. I looked at him and he was still going about his business. Always staring out the window.
"Congratulations, Taylor. well done. as always. your research paper is excellent. also, Trevor, yours is amazing as well." the professor announced which causes to grab his attention. he just simply smiled.
"Chase, I haven't seen your works. did you pass it to me?" he ask me and made everyone turned their attention to me.
Right. that was my assignment that I should be passing but Taylor ruined it and I forgot to make a new one.
"I'm sorry. I didn't make them. I... uh... I got sick that's why I forgot." I reasoned out and look down at my desk.
"it's okay. I'll let it slip this time. but if you're not feeling well and can't do your homework, I'm expecting that you should give me an excuse letter. okay?"
I nodded.
At the very least, I didn't get in trouble for failing to turn in my assignment. I stare at someone because I have a feeling someone is staring at me. I turn around to see Taylor, who hasn't shown any emotion.
What exactly is this? Is he apologetic, or will he say something along the lines of "I’m glad you didn't pass your work, loser"?
WHAT
For a split second, we both stared at each other, and he quickly averted his gaze. I just let out a long sigh.
I just gazed at the school board's ranking after class. I still can't believe I'm second in the rankings while Trevor is third. I didn't see that someone was standing next to me when I was staring. He smiled as he wrapped his arm around my shoulder. He said, "Congratulations."
"Aren't you mad at me?" I ask him.
He frowned, "why would I be mad?"
"because it should be you at the two spots."
"Chase, you deserve it. I got the number three because I got lazy and didn't study well. Besides, I'm so sick to be at the top. I want to be in the lowest rank too." Trevor smiled.
I can't believe what he just said. But there's nothing to be embarrassed about, right? After a few minutes of conversation, he brought up the approaching tournament. I inquire about it with him.
"What exactly is the competition? Is it similar to a test?"
"Yes, and it is also dependent on your rank. In other words, both you and Taylor have a better chance of winning."
"Is this something that happens every year?"
“Nope. Only for seniors like us. This is a significant event. the main prize And if you truly want to succeed, you must study diligently and defeat Taylor. Oh, and don't forget that this competition began the day you registered. Your grades in all academics and extracurricular activities are adding up to a total for you to sit at the top, but what does that imply once you're there? You are the winner.”
Every word he says leaves me stunned. Wow, maybe that's why everyone in here is so focused on their studies. Even though they know they won't be able to beat Taylor, they are nevertheless putting in their best effort.
"Are you willing to beat him?" he asks again.
those words of him.
I paused for a second.
"to be honest, I don't know but what will I get if I win over him? he will still resent me until his death." joked and he laughed.
♡
I was waiting patiently in the cafe for my mother. Yes, she has just returned from Italy, and I am delighted to see her again. I miss her terribly. She was only here for fashion week; my mother is a well-known designer in Milan, and her designs are well-known throughout the world.
We are allowed to go out to the academy because it is the weekend. Some of the boys are at the mall or an amusement park, but I simply went out to see my mom.
Taylor, did you go out as well? Except for school, I never see him leave the dorm.
The bell jingles and I notice my mother waving at me. I got out of my chair and hugged her.
"Ciao, baby. mi manchi manchi. how's school?" she meant 'hi' and 'i miss you' while kissing my cheeks.
"Mama, stop. it's embarrassing." I chuckled.
"oh! my baby is already a big boy now." she laughed, "anyways, scusami I'm late. the models are really hard headed. we needed to rehearse again and again." she sighed and I just smiled.
"Va bene mama. I just arrived too. I thought I'm late since I passed my works late."
"oh perche perche, filgio? are you having a hard time why you submitted it late?" she worriedly asked.
i shook my head, "no-no, mama. uh, I thought I pass the right papers but it turned out that it's not the right subject." I lied but she bought it though.
We talked for hours and even went to the mall together. Some women took note of her and struck up a conversation with her, as well as taking a photograph with her. My mother is now well-known. She wants to take me to the fashion week venue, but I refuse because it's growing dark and my dorm's curfew is just 9 p.m. I informed my mother that she could stay in our penthouse apartment, but she declined because she was with the staff. As a result, she'll be staying in a hotel. the staffs. so she will be staying at the hotel.
My hands were full when I said goodbye to my mother and proceeded to my dorm building. I went out and got food and drinks because the little pantry was nearly empty. Taylor was leaning at the kitchen counter with a coffee in front of him as I opened the door.
"I need to talk to you," he said.
