Luna and Lucas eventually went inside, just as dinner was being served to the pack. Lucas ignored the people as they stared at his Luna, knowing that this probably was upsetting her.
"Yes, everyone. I have found my mate and you can all quit staring." Lucas finally said, earning a relieved sigh from a blushing Luna.
"Thank you." She whispered quietly. He looked through her curtain of black hair and sw that her face was bright red, an odd contrast with her eyes. He loved her eyes. He loved the rarity of the multicolored windows that saw into his soul. He took her hand under the table and squeezed gently.
"How'd you meet her?" Zuki asked. Zuki was Lucas's little sister. She was only fifteen, the same age as his Luna.
"Luna is the Apollo Alpha's daughter."
"You call your Luna Luna?" Zuki asked.
"My name is Luna." Luna said, barely loud enough for anyone to hear.
"Your name is Luna?" Zuki scoffed. Luna's face reddened more. She looked down at her food and picked at it.
"Yes, Zuki, her name is Luna and I'd rather you don't insult my mate. Luna, that is my little sister, Zuki."
"N-nice to meet y-you." Luna muttered quietly.
Luna felt so out of place. Even her mate's sister didn't like her. She wanted to hide and be invisible. She didn't fit in with her old pack that she was born into, how would she fit in here? Her face burned as she stared at her food.
"How old is she?" Zuki asked.
"I'm, um, fifteen." She spoke when she realized that Lucas didn't answer.
"Are you a runt? You're awfully small." Luna's face reddened, this time in anger.
"I'm not a runt." She growled at the blonde hair girl as her head snapped up. Zuki's hair was in blonde ringlets. She had the same eyes as Lucas.
"Well, you're a runt or you're small. Which is it?" Zuki was nothing like her brother. Luna began to shake.
"I'm not a runt." It came out in a feral growl.
"Oh, really? What are you?"
"My mate. Zuki, stop." Lucas interfeared.
"I'm just talking to her. You may Alpha, but I'm your sister...Now, Luna Luna, are you a runt or what?" Luna stood, wanting to leave before she shifted and attacked Lucas's sister, and walked away. She got turned around in the large mansion and ended up in the garden. She sat next to the fountain and let out the tears that she'd held in. She was tired of being different. She should be back with the Apollos. She didn't deserve to be here. With Lucas. She missed her home. She missed her dad. Hell, she even missed her annoying step-mother. She hated that she was small, she hated that no one liked her. How did she end up with Lucas? Her wolf growled at her for being weak. Despite this, she knew that Drusilla, her wolf, felt the same. She walked up the black stairs and looked through the sky light. It would rain soon, she smelled it. She heard her name being called and wiped the tears from her eyes. She smelled Lucas before she saw him, even though the rain covered most anything.
"Luna, sweetie, I know you're there." Lucas said quietly.
"Yeah...just a sec." She managed to sound regular. She walked down to Lucas and saw the anger flash in his eyes when he saw her. He practically yanked her into his arms where she gladly went.
"I'm sorry about her." He murmured, stroking her hair.
"It's fine. It's my fault." She sighed.
Lucas felt his anger building again. Not at Luna, no, he could never. At everything else.
"Luna, how can you not see? Why do you let everyone walk all over you?" He asked.
"I don't." She said, looking up at him with shocked eyes.
"Yes you do. You act like you have no place because of your size. But guess what? You have a place. With me. You're a Luna now, you have to realize that that's your place. You're strong. I know you are. Act like it." He nearly growled. She jumped back, shocked at his outburst. Her lip quivered and he immediately regret being so harsh. With a deep breath, she bit her lip and inhaled deeply.
"You're right." She managed after another shaky breath. He bent down just a little and put his arm just under her perfectly rounded butt. Her lifted her, her sort of sitting on his arm. She wrapped her legs around his waist though he still held her.
"I'm sorry." He said, nose touching hers.
"Me too." Her eyes danced and captivated his. He leaned forward slowly, until she closed the gap. They kissed softly at first, before Lucas grinned.
"You see those doors?" He asked.
"Yeah, why?" The doors were connected to a large balcony that formed into stairs after a small gate in the gothic fence caging in the balcony.
"That leads to our bedroom." He whispered mischievously. She smiled and clung to him as he walked up the stairs. He felt her breathing in his scent just as he breathed in hers. She gently kissed the skin of his neck, making a moan escape his lips. She pulled back with a devilish grin before doing it again.
"Oh lord." He moaned. He managed to open the doors to their room and shut the doors. She brought their lips together and tightened her legs around him.
"Oh Luna." He managed, feeling her core rubbing against him. He sat on the bed, running his hands up her thighs. They were soft but firm, kind of like something else he could think of.
"Lucas..." She moaned. He grabbed her hips and moved her on his hips, making both of them moan. Her hands knotted in his hair, tugging ever so slightly. She leaned back, still rolling her hips, as she unbuttoned her shirt. He saw that he hands shook ever so slightly, showing she was nervous. He sighed and took her hands.
"Luna." He whispered. She looked up him and gave him a half smile.
"I'm sorry. My wolf is ready, Drusilla is screaming at me right now...but I'm just...not. I'm to nervous. I want you, but I-I..." He interrupted with, "It's okay, Luna." He kissed her sweetly and yawned.
She crawled off of him and sighed.
"Who's Drusilla?" He asked. He'd never heard the name before.
"My wolf. Isn't yours named?" She asked curiously, allowing his arms to encircle her once they lay on the bed.
"No. No one's is. Did you name her?" She shook her head.
"Nope. When I first shifted, I was really scared. She said, 'Shh, little one. Don't be afraid, I'm Drusilla, daughter of the moon goddess. I'll take care of you.'" Moon Goddess? Sure there were legends of a Luna strong enough to hold the daughter and the mother in one, but that couldn't be possible.
"Lucas, can I tell you something? Father said I could never tell anyone. That they wouldn't believe me." She whimpered.
"Anything you tell me, I'll believe." He assured.
"There's another wolf in me. She calls herself Selene." She whispered. Selene...the name was so familiar to Lucas that he felt stupid when he finally remembered the significance of it. Selene was the goddess of the moon in Greek mythology. In the legend the Cresent pack was raised with, Selene and her daughter fight and one day, they anger the Sun goddess with their fighting. Tired of the feud, the sun goddess puts them both into one girl. She made the girl small to limit the power as they feud.
"Lucas?" He was broken from his thoughts by his Luna's tired voice.
"Yes?"
"I love you."
"I love you too." He whispered and kissed her cheek. His wolf was still screaming inside him. His wolf wanted her and Lucas wanted her, but Luna just wasn't ready. He just hoped it would happen soon so the crazy wolf that was giving him a headache would quiet.
