Episode 5: Mysterious Marjorie

1000 Words
Isaiah left me after saying his offer, I sat at the edge of my well made bed, and think about what he said. It was a good offer, even though I'm his mate, he thought about my feelings. He considered my feelings. However, it doesn't changed the fact that I still hate him. Without his mark on me, I would have live a normal life with my parents, and Luke. I wouldn't have to leave my town in my eighteenth birthday just to go appeared in his palace. If I'm not destined to be here on this day, I would have been in my house celebrating with my parents, dancing with my father, my mother would laugh at us because she knows my father can't dance. After that, I would go to the place where I would fine Luke, he would dance with me under the moon. It would have been perfect. I looked at the crimson color of the wall, there's a small shelf on the side, with books I know I would read. I wonder how did they know I like to read this kind of books? My attention diverted to the small knock on my door. I sigh, and rose up to open it. "Hi, I'm Marjorie, your personal aid," a petite girl with long hair appeared in front of me with a nervous smile. "I'm Mikka," I said. "Come in." I opened the door widely for her. "I know your name," she said gently. "Prince Isaiah like to utter your name every day." I rolled my eyes as I closed the door. Marjorie looked at me, handing the box she's been holding. "I will prepare your bath, and this dress you need to wear this for dinner, I'll help you." Marjorie prepared my bath for me, she put golden flowers on it, I thought it was just a design to make the bath more inviting, but it was put there to make a beautiful smell that could soothe anyone's nose. "This is a rare type of flower," she informed me looking over at her shoulder. "It was picked by Elliot months ago for the preparation of your coming." Elliot. "Elliot was nice to me," I said. Marjorie nodded in agreement. "Elliot is very nice, and apart from that he is also a loyal servant, and the most trusted person of Prince Isaiah." She motioned the tub for me. "It's done, I'll wait for you outside." Without further ado, I take off my clothes as soon as Marjorie shut the door. I run my fingers through the bubbles popping them one by one. As I let my body feel the warmth of the water, smelling the fragrance of the rare flower, I think about how my life would be inside the Palace. It seems to me that Isaiah is harmless, and my visioned of him as a cruel Lycan Prince vanished when I saw his smile earlier. He's not that kind of Prince who would abuse their power for their own gain. Isaiah seemed different. I don't know, but I feel a deep connection with him whenever he smiles. Was it because I'm bearing his mark? Probably. "Pardon my intrusion, but the dinner will start soon. We should get ready," I heard Marjorie outside. I finished my bath, and take the robe Marjorie have prepared for me. I brush my wet hair as I opened the door of the bathroom. I saw Marjorie setting up a chair in front of a big mirror, when she saw me she smiled handing me a white dress. "Prince Isaiah choose the dress personally," she informed. "What do you think about Isaiah?" I asked. Marjorie turned her back on me when I let my robe slide on my back, creating a low thud on the turquoise carpet. I put my underwear, before grabbing the dress. "Prince Isaiah is a kind Prince, he's different from his older brother Ivanson. Prince Isaiah is the one who will inherit the throne, according to the prophecy," Marjorie said. "What about Ivanson?" "Prince Ivanson will remain as the commander of the army," she replied. "It made me wondered, where's the Queen?" Marjorie cleared her throat. "I am not in the place to tell you about what happened to the Queen, my apologies." Her voice came out low. "Perhaps, Prince Isaiah will tell you soon." The sudden shift on Marjorie's voice made me think that something happened to the Queen. It made me think that my question alone happened to reopen an old wound that did not heal for the past centuries. After I put my long dress, covered with golden beads, Marjorie made me sat on the chair as she started to make my hair. "Happy birthday," Marjorie uttered softly. I smiled. "This day supposed to be my great day, but this happened." I sigh. "Although I know it will happen..." I couldn't finish my sentence. "I know it was not easy to have your destiny set the day your were born, but your lucky because it was Prince Isaiah's mark." I looked at her over my shoulder. "What do you mean?" I asked. "I shouldn't have said something," she regrettably said. "Tell me, Marjorie," I ordered. She sigh in defeat. "Lycan's are not the only creature that give marks to their mates, their are werewolves, and the vampires. Well, the vampires give their marks by biting their mate, exactly opposite to the Lycan's," she said. "Most of them are cruels, that's why your lucky to have Prince Isaiah's mark." I didn't say a word. What will happen to me if it wasn't Isaiah's mark? "Prince Isaiah's mark is different from everyone, that's what I heard. His mark will give strong protection to his mate, that's why you remained unharmed after all these years." I squinted my eyes. Confused. "What do you mean unharmed?" Marjorie chuckled, amused. "Prince Isaiah has been protecting you since the day you were born. He marked you intentionally. He chose you."
