Chapter 9

-Ambrose P.O.V.- Jake gave me a look I couldn’t really decipher before sighing heavily. He then looked down to his hands that were in his lap. I looked to Seth to see if he knew what was going on in his mate’s head, but he looked just as lost as me. After a few moments, Jake finally looked up until he met my gaze. “I know that you know that your parents are close with my sister, but have they really told you things about her? Like what happened the day your brother was attacked? How Crimson saved his life? How she came to be what she is today? I mean, have they really told you anything about her?” Now this caused me to raise my eyebrows. “I am not trying to be disrespectful to you or to seem rude, but before I tell you about the things she heard, that rained down to be true, I need to know what you know. Does that make sense?” He asked me as he twirled his hand in a circle before dropping it back into his lap. I cleared my throat before responding to him as he didn’t seem disrespectful to me. He had a right to ask me these types of questions because this was pertaining to his sister. “Yes, that makes sense. Also, I do not view you as being disrespectful right now. You have a right to question my knowledge pertaining to your sister. That is your family and I get it. But to be perfectly honest, my parents don’t tell me a lot. I just know that your sister is close to my brother and that she saved his life. I also know a little bit about her job, but not much.” I tell him honestly. “I understand that.” Jake starts to say before Seth cuts him off. “Why does Ambrose need to know anything about your sister to know what was said to her that day?” I cut my eyes to Seth to see him looking at Jake with a curious look on his face. You could also hear in his tone that he was not being rude by asking his mate this question. I watched as Jake looked at his mate with soft eyes. “Because, in order to fully understand how her scar affects her along with the words that were spoken to her..then you need to understand her past.” “Okay. I get it.” Seth says with a shrug before he places a kiss on his mates cheek. Jake gives him a smile before looking back at me. “You see, Crimson has never been in-charge of her own life. From the moment she was born, she was thrown into training as well as watching over my brother and I. No, not watching over. She raised my brother and I. From the moment we entered that house, she was the one who raised us and gave us the childhood we had. But, things were still simple because she didn’t have to deal with the business or the things that came with the business. Then boom! Everything fell into her lap at 16. Her parents were killed so everyone was looking to her as well as the enemies. She dropped out of school, got her GED, and went off to take over. While still raising Mack, my brother, and I. Her life has never really been her own, but she does enjoy her work. She does like helping other Alphas with problems as well as dealing with the Nightwalkers. Even if they are a pain in her a**. Now with the business, comes getting hurt…a lot. So she found a witch that made this potion to heal her. This witch can also see into the future to see where you land, but it always changes as life is always going into different directions. Unless she sees who your mate will be. She saw that Mack was going to mate with a werewolf, and that I would end up finding a werewolf of my own…and…” Jake sighs before taking in a deep breath. “The day my sister saved your brother was the day that a life sentence was put over her head. She got that scar from the leader of the Nightwalkers. She also got told that if she didn’t find her mate by the time she turned 30 then the leader would come to take her. He would then turn her into a vampire by force.. My sister didn’t think this was true until it was confirmed by the witch. Now, the witch also told her that she could possibly be paired with a werewolf, but nothing was set into stone as her future is split. So, not only is that scar a reminder of what happened that day but it is also a reminder that if she doesn’t find her mate then she is going to turn into the very thing that she hates.” I am speechless upon hearing all of this. I have no words forming out of my mouth or in my head as I just keep repeating everything Jake said over and over. I know I have never asked my parents more about Crimson but I somehow felt guilty for not doing just that. It isn’t like I could help her in any way or somehow end up being her mate, but just hearing how she could end up turning into the very thing she hates is heartbreaking.. I finally gave my head a shake before speaking. “I honestly have no idea what to say to any of that.” I tell Jake honestly. Jake gives me a sad smile. “You see why I needed to know if you knew of her past or anything like that?” I give him a nod. “Yes, I see. Crimson’s life has never really been her own and now her own future might possibly be taken from her.” “Yeah..I think that is why your parents want her to attend Luke’s event.” Now those words have me peeking up. “My parents know about her possible futures?” I asked with a surprised tone. Jake gives me a slow nod. “Yes they do. Crimson has told them.” “Hmmm.” I just reply before Seth changes the subject. I don’t really listen to them going back and forth as my mind is running a mile a minute. Sooner or later, I end up joining their conversation for a bit before Seth is saying that he needs to bring Jake home. “I better get my mate home before Crimson has my head.” That has me laughing before I give him a smirk. “Scared of a human, Seth?” I ask him with a tilt of my head. Jake snorts at that which gives him a glare from his mate before Seth is turning his attention back at me. “Wait until you meet Crimson then you will be saying the same thing that I am. Come on, babe.” I just laugh as Seth takes Jake's hand before leading him out of my office. “It was nice meeting you.” Jake says over his shoulder as Seth is still dragging him. “It was nice meeting you too, and you will be seeing me tomorrow along with the others.” I tell him with a wave. Once they are gone, I deal with some business before going down to the cells. Madison may think that this is just some kind of punishment, but what she has done is beyond punishment. Her parents will be upset since I will be killing their daughter, but they will understand. I finish up my work and close everything out before I finally head down to the cells. I know Seth wants to watch but I am not going to wait for him. As soon as I enter the cells, Madison is already begging for her life. “I promise I will never do anything like that again! Please Alpha.” Her begging does nothing but bring Shadow closer to coming out. “You should have listened and heeded my warning but you did not. Now you have angered my wolf.” I tell her honestly which causes all of the blood to drain from her face. I smirk at this. Shadow: Let me out. I am done playing. Me: Have fun. (I tell him as he comes out. I sit back in my mind as I just watch him rip open the cells before snapping her neck. It was quick as Shadow could no longer deal with her scent or her breathing.) Shadow: Finally. (My wolf says as he retreats back into my mind while giving me back control. I just chuckle at that as I walk out of the cells.)
