Chapter 7: Pleasant Surprise!

(Archer POV)

I take a deep breath before looking at my watch. Fifteen minutes were left in the meeting and I was bored beyond words. I don’t know why Leo was also restless but we both didn’t know the reason behind this restlessness.

Lucian was busy explaining the project details to the company, and I wanted to finish it as soon as possible.

“We will increase the share percentage this year. It will give us an extra profit and popularity,” Lucian explained and the manager of the finance department started asking questions. I gave him a bored look before looking towards my file aimlessly.

“Lucian! Finish this meeting as soon as possible. I am not feeling good,” I mind link him and he looked at me questioningly. It was not a lame excuse but the truth that I was not feeling right.

“I am wrapping it up, Theo is also feeling restless,” He informed me through mind link and I nodded. Leo and Theo were our wolf names and we both have very good chemistry with our wolves. He finished the meeting and all the members left the meeting room.

“It took more than usual to explain all the benefits of this project,” Lucian said before handing me the file of the signed project.

“Yeah! I wanted to wrap it up as soon as possible but they were behaving like idiots,” I said with a frown and a smile appeared on Lucian’s face.

“Cool, Brother! You have to learn how to be cool and calm in different situations otherwise, Your impatient nature will cost you,” He repeated his favorite sentence and I nodded like an obedient child. Someone knocked on the door and I said ‘Come in’.

“Sir! The owner of the Blue Light Security is waiting for you in your office,” My secretary informed me and I nodded.

“We will be there in a few minutes,” She left the room and I looked towards Lucian.

“What do you think about this investment project?” I asked and he shrugged his shoulders in response.

“I guess, I gave this project to you to study. You have to tell me about the pros and Cons of this project,” He asked and I nodded before telling him about the project.

“Well! This project is not so big at the time but yes, This company has the potential to grow up. Although This company has a few moles in it but it can prove profitable for us in the future,” I explained my research and he nodded before picking up his blazer.

“Well! We will decide the final decision after meeting with that owner. You know, I hate those clingy type girls and if she would be like this then this opportunity is a big No, no from my side,” Lucian said and I nodded before following him.

“Yes! I agree with you on that,” I informed him before opening the door of our office. She was present on the chair near the couch. I flashed a smile toward her but as soon as our eyes make contact, I froze in my tracks. Lucian started explaining the reason of our delay and didn’t notice her but when he turned towards her, His reaction was no different than mine. A surprised and happy look appeared on my face. I wanted to say to the Goddess that “What a pleasant surprise!” but when I noticed her reaction, lines of worry appeared on my face.

“No! This is impossible,” She whispered slowly and I became speechless after noticing the horrified look on her face. It seems She saw a ghost instead of her mates.

“I can…” I was about to say something but she fell on the chair behind her. I quickly picked her up. Lucian was looking more tense and worried than I. I quickly lay her down on the couch and tapped her cheek but she didn’t open her eyes.

“How can she react like this? I mean, We are not that horrible,” I tried to lighten up Lucian’s mood but he was not ready to forget it. He handed me a glass of water and I sprinkled a few drops of water on her face and she slowly opened her eyes. She started rubbing her temples with her fingers and looked toward us like she wanted to recall what happened before she passed out like this. I put my hand on her hand and a tingle erupted in our hands when our skin made contact and her eyes widened in shock.

She stood up quickly and looked towards us with a scared look on her face and without even a word, Left our office. I looked towards her bag and file, Which she forgot in her panic-stricken state.

“I have never thought that our mate will react like this?” I mumbled and looked towards Lucian, who was also looking conflicted.

“Yeah! It seems She had a really bad experience in the past,” Lucian said and I looked at him with shock written all over my face.

“What? Do you mean we are not her first chance mates?” My gut twisted with the mere thought of it.

“Maybe, I am not sure,” He shrugged our shoulders and I take a seat on the nearby chair. We both waited all our life for our mate and now, She didn’t even want to come near to us.

“Archer! Pick up that file and send it to her office. I need all the information about this girl as soon as possible,” Lucian said and I nodded.

“Lucian! I know, You wanted to know the reason behind her behavior but what will we tell our Parents?” I remind him and he looked at me with an anxious look.

“We will deal with that later but firstly, I wanted to know about our mate as soon as possible,” He said and I nodded before leaving our office. Lucian was so passionate about our business, so he handles most of the paper work and formalities of our business. I, on the other hand, really like to roam around and discover new things. So, I do all the research for the future investment plans of our business and I also love to find niches in this hotel business, so we can add them to our company and earn profit.

I really wanted to know more about my mate and I had had a few scenarios about the encounter of us with our mate but It was not even in my nightmares. An old oracle told us in childhood that we will share a mate and we didn’t have any objection to this but I have never thought that our mate will ignore us like this. I came out of the office building and headed toward the parking area.
