Chapter 10: Peter Umbly
Following a check-in with Yolanda Smitt, my vice president at the New York branch of Storm Executive Securities, and learning that all is well, I decide to head downtown for some afternoon shopping and lunch.
Once downtown, finding the day blistering with heat, I stop at a small store called Beachies and purchase a pair of fireman red shorts, three pairs of steel micro low-rise trunks, and a triple flat corded bracelet for my right wrist.
Two doors away from Beachies is a paperback bookstore called Turning Pages. A summer sale prompts me to stock up on gay story compilations and queer-themed novels, which I will devour in the weeks to come.
