Tyler's POV.
I stared out the window as my car sped past the beautiful landscapes. I am Alpha Tyler Vincent of the Blood Moon pack. I am on my way to an important summit that is held annually. During a full moon, notable Alphas gather in the center of the werewolf kingdom, which is the capital city of Fangoria, to discuss matters arising and matters that would play a significant role in our politics.
I hate conventions like this, but when you are the Alpha of the leading werewolf kingdom, some things are already decided for you. My father had created the summit and it was up to me, his legacy and successor, to ensure that his achievements and laws were recognized and obeyed across all the twenty-four kingdoms that make up the werewolf world.
So the bottom line of the whole scenario is that, even though I hated meetings like this, I had no choice but to attend. It's my duty as the Alpha of the Blood Moon pack and my responsibility as a son.
It sucks, right? Yeah, I know.
"How much longer?" I groaned.
"We will be arriving..." One of my warriors in the front seat said, but he had not even completed his sentence when a truck suddenly appeared from the bend in front of us. The impact was quick, unexpected and brutal.
It sent our car rolling off the road and into the woods. I felt my head smash into the window and the pain that followed after... Well, I can't find the right words to explain it.
The car finally stopped spinning but it had landed upside down. I tried to move but my leg was stuck. I kicked at nothing in particular as I struggled to free myself.
"Boldheart!" I yelled, but the warriors in the front were not even moving. I stretched my feet and nudged the unconscious warrior beside me in the back seat of the car and he stirred.
"Get up! We have to get out of here." I ordered. He opened his eyes but the blood that was pouring down his face had been enough to blind him. I knew he wouldn't make it but I kept quiet. He freed himself and managed to help me lift whatever had trapped my leg.
I kicked the door with whatever strength I had left and rolled out of the car. He followed immediately.
"Well! Well! Well! So this is the powerful Alpha Tyler, reduced to a bleeding pup in the middle of nowhere." I froze at the sound of that familiar voice, my blood ran cold and I felt my wolf stir.
"Xavier!" It hissed somewhere inside me. Xavier used to be my beta until he went rogue a few years back and got kicked out of the pack. The elders had suggested that he be put to death but, in a bid to taunt him, I banished him from the kingdom.
Now, I am seriously beginning to contemplate the sense behind my decision.
"You should have just killed me when you had the chance." He said as he approached me, swinging the pistol he held with such enthusiasm. "Now, I am going to enjoy making you pay for everything you did to me."
"Trust me, Xavier..." I winced in pain as I struggled to get back up on my feet, "you don't want to do this." The third warrior that had somehow managed to get up on his feet so quickly rushed towards Xavier but he was quick to put a hole in his chest.
His body collapsed with a loud, "Thump!"
"Look, Xavier, I really don't want to do this, so I suggest you turn back right now and I will forget this ever happened. I can't help you once he is out." Xavier let out a shrill, cackling laughter.
"You and I both know that you haven't been able to get your wolf under control yet."
"Really? Are you really going to let him talk like that about us?" I said to Fenris, my wolf, through our mind link. I didn't have to wait at all for a response, I felt my bones shift and the hairs grow out of the skin rapidly.
Tyler was gone and in his place, stood Fenris, a large white wolf with attractive blue eyes. Xavier quickly let out his wolf and he ran towards me, aiming for my throat. I dodged his claws and turned around to dig my fangs deep into his neck.
I didn't let go until I felt his body go lifeless under my fangs. I dumped his body and watched him morph back into his pathetic self.
I felt my bones shift again and my normal body returned. Taking Fenris form has done a lot of good for my human form. The wounds sustained from the accident were beginning to heal, I could feel my body rearranging itself back to the way it...
Bang!
I felt a sharp pain in my side and when I looked down, I saw blood rapidly soaking my shirt. I had been shot. I turned around to find someone wrapped in a black outfit standing over Xavier's body with a gun pointed in my direction.
The blood was now pouring out of me, my legs were already shaking as wave after wave of pain washed over me. The figure began to approach and I knew at the moment that if I didn't run, I would be dead in a couple of seconds.
Fenris knew exactly what I was thinking, I felt him stir inside of me as I let him take control. I was shifting in and out of consciousness as we ran as fast as we could deeper into the wood and further away from the figure back at the car crash.
I could still feel the blood pouring out of me as Fenris began to slowly lose control. I urged him on, at least until we were safe, but it was too much already. We had lost too much blood and didn't have enough time to gather strength. We collapsed and everything went blank.
