Chapter 6

JANA "What did you say?" my father asked, with a frown on his face. "Alpha Ashton has made it clear that he does not want me as his mate. He didn't appreciate our bond and would rather have me for only one night. Please, understand that our alpha dislikes me, father," I explained, in the hopes that they would at least try to listen to me this time. I know it's impossible for me to persuade them, but I'm going to try. I assumed that at least they would give me a second chance, but I was wrong. My mother rushed over to where I was sitting and grabbed my hair. I bite my bottom lip to stop the sob that is ready to escape. So suddenly, my father approached me and threw me against the wall without saying anything. "Believe me when I say I'm willing to risk everything just to keep my current position. Do you think I'll let you do whatever ridiculous idea you have just because you beg me?" my dad shouted. He grabbed my neck as my mother was still clutching my hair. I'm not sure why the moon goddess let this happen to me. I believe she sees what's happening and she’s aware of how my own parents abused me, but I am beginning to wonder why she is allowing this to happen to me. "Dad, no!" I scream. My father's strong hand fell on my stomach, a loud scream rang out at the top of my lungs. I could feel the anguish all the way to the tips of my toes. They have assaulted me more, so I shall comply with their demands. I was completely wrong when I believed that my father had stopped torturing me. He briefly left me in my mother's care before going to their chamber to take his silver flogger. My mother instantly called my father's name when she spotted him approaching. I didn't expect her to push me to the cold floor violently, and then my father began striking me with the silver rod. He holds it while wearing gloves to shield him from its effects, and I am the only one who is affected by it. "You're lucky you're still alive, dumb!" My father smirked while repeatedly beating me. My father was panting, yet he continued to abuse me. He had previously used this punishment on all pack members who had made a significant mistake with the alpha and I'm used to seeing it. I never imagined he'd use it to punish me simply because I disagreed with his demand to accept the Alpha "Be strong, Jana," Anaya pleaded in agony. She's right; I need to be strong right now and not show any signs of agony on my face that will satisfy my parents. I bite my lower lips, merely close my tearful eyes, and accept the terrible punishment from my own parents. They finally came to a halt. I can smell my mother's scent surrounding me, mixed with my father's scent as he approaches to see whether I'm still alive. My father carried my body and walked towards the front door. I expected him to send me to my room, but that didn't happen since I'm sure he had something for me somewhere. He flung me to the ground, and my forehead collided with something, causing my vision to whirl. My mouth only let forth groans after my father placed a silver collar around my neck. Without thinking that the cold weather would cause me to pass out here, he bound me to the large trees. The worst feeling I've had since then is the ache from the silver collar. After a short while, my father turned his back, leaving me with nothing but my tattered dress as he made his way back to the house. My dad really made sure that I wouldn't be able to free myself, so I had to force myself to release my hand. After a few hours, another agony gripped my stomach and soon spread throughout my body. It's like someone stabbed me several times and sliced my body into bits. "Are we going to die, Anaya?" With a broken voice, I inquired. "Jana, it's not going to happen. You are powerful; don't think that way," Anaya responded. "I'm not sure; it's too painful, Anaya." I whispered as my body trembled in pain. When Anaya informed me earlier that Alpha Ashton was having fun and engaging in s****l activity with someone else, while I was still experiencing the same misery, I came to the realization that my mate had betrayed me once more. I force myself to swallow my own saliva and close my eyes, but no matter how hard I try, the horrible pain keeps hitting me and eventually lingers in my head. My frail body got a shiver from the chilly breeze. I made a mistake and forcefully filled the straps in my hands. My skin was scorched by the metal collar, which made my situation worse. "I wish dad hadn't tied us up in this place. At least I can take action," Anaya lamented. "Think, Jana, there must be a way for us to get out of here," Anaya urged me. Anaya gave me several suggestions that I never imagined would help me untie and free myself. I attempted to use mind link with Stella, my best friend and the only person who could help me in this situation. "Who are you?" Stella inquired, her voice tired. "Hello, it's me, your best friend Jana," I said softly. "Jana?!" Stella said loudly. If I weren't in this scenario, I might have burst out laughing at my best friend's reaction. I'm sure she couldn't believe I managed to have a mind link with her because I didn't have this privilege previously. "I can't believe I'm hearing your thoughts right now, Jana," Stella exclaimed enthusiastically. "So you finally have your wolf and a mate now?" My best friend inquired happily. "I do, but I'm not sure how much I can explain to you right now. Stella, I desperately need your help. My dad tied me up outside the house with a silver collar around my neck. Please come here and release me." Stella, let out a deep sigh. She was upset with how my own parents treated me. She has seen my tiring condition numerous times, and she is the only one who has truly felt my pain while the others belittle and mock me. "I'm coming. Don't worry. I'll help you," Stella stated before closing the mind link. I feel like I've been waiting for her for an eternity. My eyes twitched as I heard twigs, someone approaching, and the slight scent mixed with the air told me it was my best friend, Stella. "Oh, great moon goddess," Stella said, her eyes widened and terrified after seeing my condition. "Jana, if I were you, I would leave this pack for my own safety. You don't belong here. No one treats you nicely, and even your own parents are always hurting you." Stella moves really quickly. She untied me and freed my legs and hands. I only have the silver collar in my neck right now, and I have no doubt that she will be able to free me. Stella struggled to get the collar off my neck. She utilizes her entire force and works hard. After a while, she was able to remove the collar and I'm finally free. With tears running down my cheeks, I embrace Stella. I'm grateful to her for always being there for me when I need her. I adore my best friend and am grateful that she is in my life. Except for her, no one treats me better in this packland. I ran with her with a sad heart, clutching her hand tightly as though I was afraid to leave her here now that I had decided to run away without looking back. "Don't worry, you are blessed and protected by the moon goddess, Jana. Go and don't come back here," Stella said, her face mournful. I hugged her once more tightly. I hate leaving her here alone, but I don't have any other options right now. "Thank you, Stella," I replied, my voice trembling. It's painful to say goodbye to the person I care the most about, but I don't have any other choice. Now that I'm leaving this pack land, I feel like I'm losing part of me. "Go now, you need to hurry while no one has noticed that you've gone missing," Stella remarked, tapping me on the shoulder. Stella gave me a sorrowful smile. "Remember to always wear this necklace; it will protect you from any harm that may befall you. Don't worry; we'll see each other again one day." I looked into her blue eyes and nodded. I shake off the despair I'm experiencing right now. It is not the time to get emotional. "Goodbye, Stella," I mumbled as I turned around and rushed into the forest. "Jana, run fast and don't stop!" Anaya prompts me when I pause and blink my tearful eyes. I'm losing my vision and becoming feeble as a result of the silver collar my father tied around my neck. I'm Omega, and I'm weak, which makes it tough for me to run fast. "Can we shift, Anaya?" I inquired of Anaya, who shook her head. "Jana, it's not the right time yet. We can't shift right now because we're both exhausted. The effect of the silver is still in our system; forcing ourselves to shift is dangerous," Anaya emphasized. She is absolutely right; shifting now is a bad decision. For the time being, we cannot risk our safety. The best we can do is run fast while no one discovers my escape and disappearance. I don't mind the sharp objects and stones that s***h my skin every time I leap high. I kept running as if there was no tomorrow till I reached the river. I recall the elders telling us in the pack house when I was younger that the strong current of water would surely consume anyone who tried to cross it. "Where are you now, Jana?" Stella inquired via our mind-link. "I'm not sure, but I am across the black river," I replied, my eyes darting everywhere. "You must run faster. Your father is in my house; he has already learned that you are missing. Alpha Ashton has gone to your parents' house in search of you," she stated I ran to the dangerous jungle after hearing the news from Stella. Someone is looking for me and I can sense some pack guards and warriors approaching me. "Someone is coming my way, Stella," I muttered nervously as my legs continued to move quickly. "They can't find you, so don't be afraid. The moon goddess will undoubtedly shield you. It's important that you keep the necklace around your neck in place. The pack guards simply believe that you are headed to that area; I'm not sure how, but I believe Alpha Ashton has managed to locate you at this very moment," Stella explained. "Does it mean they can't see me? I asked her full of curiosity. "No, they can still see you, but they can't smell or track your scent. There is no evidence of your existence in a location where you went and passed by," Stella explained. I can't believe such a thing exists. I had no idea Stella had this incredible gift that is now incredibly useful to me. I responded to Stella while gripping the pendant of the necklace that was hanging around my neck. "Thank you so much, Stella; I owe you a lot." I found myself running after saying farewell to her and closing the mind link. The urgency to get out of the pack land territory increased my desire to run swiftly. "Jana, keep going, they're coming," Anaya murmured behind my back. She was telling the truth, and I knew it because I could feel someone approaching me from behind while they were sprinting to this location. I wasn't going to let them catch me, I exerted more effort. It is better for me to enter the frightening woods in front of me, which everyone avoids since it is a part of another territory, even if I am aware that doing so unintentionally would be extremely dangerous for me. Even though I am aware that no wolf or rogue has ever been seen alive again after entering this zone, I am willing to take a risk by heading there right now. I can feel it. The pack guard and warriors are only a short distance away from me. I exert all of my might and sprint as quickly as I can to cross the border. My eyes widened in surprise when Alpha Ashton appeared in front of me. I was shocked to see him here, but I know that as the new Alpha, he will be in charge of searching for me. My mate appears to be dangerous; he moved forward in an attempt to approach me, but I retreated because I wouldn't let him even get close enough to touch me again. "Do you believe you can get away, Jana?" Grinning, Alpha Ashton questioned me. I gave a resolute response, "It's preferable for me to die in someone else's hands than to suffer endlessly beside you." After hearing my words, Alpha Ashton's face had an odd expression on it that I noticed, but it quickly vanished. His frightening expressions now warn me of what will happen to me if he catches me. He poses a threat, and it appears that his alpha wolf has shown up. As he stares at me down, his eyes shift hue. He shifts in a split second and leaps in front of me. His behavior really frightens me, causing me to take a step back, turn around, and quickly flee into someone else's territory without caring what would happen to me later once they caught me.
