Chapter Four

Ten. Nine. Eight. Seven. Six. Five. Four. Three. Two........one.Go.

I felt my heart pounding as if shifted, my legs thrusting my body forward. I heard panting behind me and looked over my shoulder. Jade.

"Jade come quick, were nearly at the forest edge!" I encouraged.

"I'm coming" Jade called. She sped up a bit and joined me, running in harmony. When we reached the forest edge, I felt the trees tickle my fur as I swiftly ran around them.

"GO!!!" Alpha Carl screamed to the males. s**t. I heard the males shout teasing us. Jade slowed down exhausted.

"I'm too tired!" She panted.

" We can't stop now! We're half way there!" I yelled.She shook her head.

"The males have already been unleashed! They'll be here any minute!" I squealed terrified.

"Okay I will run." She said. She ran a little bit,then suddenly Rory leapt out of the bushes and knocked her over. I pounced on him my talons extending like daggers. They sank into his skin as he tried to gain his balance again. I slashed his eye, as blood poured out of his wounds,his dusty coat covered in blood he growled.

"Run Jade!" I shouted, holding Rory, pinning him down.She ran further.

"Don't touch her!!" I yelled in a fit of rage! I slashed him again and again, until I heard a scream. Jade. Rory was paralyzed couldn't move much now. I left him to find Jade pinned down screaming.

"It's okay! Calm down! I'm Yvi, I know your name is Jade because I saw you when you were ranked." Yvi said gently. I know this man is good.

"Yvi I want to go with you." Jade said slightly scared.

"You smelt me, didn't you?" Yvi asked.

"Yes, I think it might be.... the mate bond." Jade looked at Yvi. The mate bond is a bond where the couple can smell each other's scent from miles away. Jade was fine. Wait what about me? I had to leave.

"Jade I've got to go before I get caught" I whispered.

"Bye Kass" Jade whispered back. I ran once again. I had to make it to the safe area. I didn't want to be taken. I was near the safe area, I could feel it. Then suddenly Mason leapt out of the bush his wolf in control. s**t. I ran faster. He growled. I ran swiftly past the trees towering over me, stones flying everywhere.

The loudest howl I had ever heard erupted over the forest hill.Birds scattered around the sky, panicking. Mason was gaining on me. Then I smelt the most brilliant smell I had ever smelt. I tried to run but my legs didn't listen to me. I followed the smell, leading directly through Mason.

"Mates bond." Mason chuckled. But I ran straight past him it wasn't him, the smell was more intense now and I was close to its center. It smelt like fresh rain and the smoke when you set off a firework. It was majestic.

No.

I reached where the smell was coming from. Jason. Stood. Right.There. He growled maliciously.

"We're gonna’ have some fun" he smirked. His voice sounded so perfect. I snapped out of it. I had to reach the safe area. I ran the opposite direction. He was right behind me, pawing at my tail. The safe zone was in sight now. I felt so happy. I was going to make it. It was about a couple of meters until the safe zone when Mason took me down.

"Mason get off!!!" I yelled biting him.

"You love me admit it! I'm helping you Kass we can live together.... You and me!" Mason grinned.

"No not now, I'm not looking for a mate!!!" I roared.Suddenly Jason knocked Mason off me. He began tearing Mason to shreds. As Mason screamed. This was my chance. To run. I pushed forward shifting but Jason grabbed my leg.

"You’re coming with me!!!" He growled louder than any voice I had ever heard. He had shifted and grabbed my shoulders while Mason couldn't move. Tears fell down my face.

"Get off me!!!" I screamed. He pushed me up against a tree and tied me there in place with his shirt. I squirmed and tried to move. I was stuck, he had tied it tightly right around me. He placed his face close to my neck and smelled me. I felt his face move further down my body. As I cried and flinched. He whispered softly in a deep husky voice.

"Shh....kitten you’re going to enjoy this...." He whispered his finger to my lips. He shifted and licked his lips. Mason stood up his wolf struggling. His fur brushed against the bark of a towering tree.

"You don't deserve her, weak!" Jason scowled. Mason flinched as Jason clawed at his neck.

"Your pathetic, stupid, vile, you’re not nearly as strong as me!!!" Jason laughed as he bit his stomach. I scrunched up and slid out of the tight knot.

"Don't you dare, take one step closer to him!!!!!!" I said.

"Don't try kitten, it's cute but useless, nothing will make me change my mind" He said growling at Mason. I shifted into my wolf,Jason couldn't 100% smell me yet thanks for my Berry wiring. I licked it all off. Jason approached me slowly.

"You little devil, berry wiring, I knew it." He brushed against me pinning me down and breathing in my scent his cold breath beating down on my exposed neck. Mason growled loudly. Limping over to us. He tried to swipe at Jason but missed. Mason buckled up in pain as Jason bit his neck blood leaking out of his throat. I heard a crunch and Jason dropped Mason's body.

"How could you?" I asked so depressed I couldn't move.

"Kitten, I do this every day!" He laughed. I ran. He caught my tail pulling me back. He held me down whilst I screamed, tears pouring down my top. He was almost crushing me. I felt faint. I passed out.

JASON P.O.V

Kassidy was so cute. So vulnerable. Her little sweetheart Mason was gone now so it's my turn to be with her. She's mine now. Forever.

"You can't escape me" I whispered in her ear. She didn't respond. She looked floppy. s**t. She'd passed out. I didn't know what to do. What do I do? I howled to my mother and the pack doctor to come quick.
