Chapter 9“So that’s why I was able to meet you for dinner tonight. Mrs. Anderson’s watching Mama and the pups while Jason’s at bowling,” Arnie told Collin after he’d finished the story of Mrs. Anderson and her intervention with her husband on Arnie’s and the puppies’ behalf. “That’s great,” Collin said, in a somewhat flat tone. Arnie c****d his head. “It doesn’t sound like you really think so.” “Oh, I do, I do,” Collin protested. “It’s just, well…” He smiled at Arnie. “I had this crazy fantasy of your landlord finding out about the pups and you being evicted. I’d come riding in on my white charger and save the day.” “And how would you do that?” Collin’s smile turned sheepish. “By asking you to move in with me.” Arnie was blown away. He’d only been dating Collin for a couple of weeks.
