The door swung open, and Lucille walked in with a hurried air. Her eyes quickly found Lucas, and she asked, “Beta Lucas, can we talk?”
Before she could say more, her gaze shifted to me. I stood there in the form of Jay, hiding my real identity, with the mask concealing my face and scent. Lucille's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she studied me.
“Who is he?” she asked, her tone both curious and cautious.
Lucas didn’t hesitate. “This is Jay, my new personal assistant. He’ll be working closely with me from now on.”
Lucille’s eyes flickered with interest as she looked over me, head to toe, before nodding in approval. “I see.”
