13 Woodhaven The trip from Mangin City to the village of Woodhaven took just under a week. It was a bit more than a seventy mile trip as the crow flew, but just as in the case of the trek through the forest to Mangin City, the road meandered around obstacles, sometimes going miles out of the way before making any progress toward their destination. If the obstacles had just been thickets in the wood, that would have been one thing. But they quickly left the forest of oaks and elms behind, emerging into a rolling grassland that became more and more interspersed with flat-topped rocky buttes.
