Chapter Four

1199 Words
As the pale crescent moon shone like a silvery claw in the night sky, Keith's hand moved on the canvass, creating another image he had in his mind while drinking his favorite coffee. Keith's phone dings; he snaps out of his thoughts and looks at the phone. It was a text message coming from Reinhart. Hi, babe! I arrived at the Horizon safely and sound. Sorry for texting soooo late; George was keeping me busy. U wanna hang out tomorrow? Xoxo Keith immediately replied back and smiled. He went back to painting. He was so immersed he didn't notice he had finished drinking his favorite coffee. When he got the cup, he groaned, not feeling the weight anymore. "Damn it," he uttered and looked at the clock on the wall. It's already past ten. Good thing they had a convenience store near them that opens twenty-four hours for people like him. Keith took his jacket, keys, and wallet and headed out. He locked the door and went downstairs. The cool night breeze whistled softly, lightly blowing through his hair. Keith rubbed his hands together and walked to where the convenience store was, but while he was walking his way to the store, he felt someone following him. Keith became alerted. His senses were all open, ready to fight back. Then he remembered what Reinhart told him about the rogue vampire. "Fvck," he whispered. If it was really a rogue vampire, he's at a disadvantage. Yes, he can fight the vampire, but he doesn't know what he is capable of doing. The rogue vampire has already killed five victims. "Fvcking unlucky," he muttered again and increased his pace. The one following him sensed his sudden change in pacing and chased him without hesitation. Keith cursed under his breath and stopped. "Get out!" he yelled. The dark alleyway with only flickering lights was giving him the chills. A man suddenly went out of the dark, his eyes were bloodshot red, and he smiled sinisterly. "What do you want, bloodsucker?" Keith asked as calmly as possible. He was calculating his chance of survival while looking at the vampire in front of him. "You," the vampire asked and manically laughed. "Sorry, dude. I'm not into vampires," Keith said. The rogue vampire stopped laughing and glared at Keith. With his vampiric speed, he caught Keith and threw him against the wall. Keith breathed and coughed. He could feel his bones break at the impact. "Fvck," he cursed as he slowly stood up. The vampire caught him again and slammed him into the wall. Keith groaned and raised his foot, kicking the vampire away. His eyes glowed like a golden sun, power emitting from him. "Mutt." The vampire hissed and bared his fangs at Keith. He was about to attack when Keith tackled him to the ground. He began punching him, but the air around him suddenly thinned, and he couldn't breathe. "You think you can defeat me?" Keith felt like he was drowning. The rogue vampire he encountered was no ordinary vampire. It was a powerful one, but suddenly, the vampire flew away, making Keith gasp in the air. "Are you alright, mutt?" A voice asked. When Keith's vision cleared, he saw Darryl in front of him. His sea rover blue eyes were replaced with blood red color. "Hey, did he get you? Answer me!" Darryl said while holding him by the waist. Keith felt annoyed because Darryl was with the same kind of vampire who attacked him. He slowly raised his middle finger and flashed it to Darryl. "Right, he did not," Darryl said and let go of Keith, causing him to fall face-first on the ground. "I really hate you, fvcking bloodsucker," he whispered. "The feeling's mutual, mutt," Darryl replied. "Stay back. He's way out of your league. That rogue vampire annihilated half of his clan after going mad," he added. "You think you can beat it?" Keith said and stood up. Darryl's brow furrowed, seeing Keith walk towards him. "I said stay back," Darryl uttered, but Keith was too stubborn to follow. The vampire attacked them and used his power on Darryl. Keith immediately transformed into his wolf, bones cracking, and clothes were torn. He landed on all fours. He ran towards the vampire who was laughing evilly while attacking Darryl and jumped on him, biting his shoulder. The vampire yelped in pain and punched Keith on his side. "H-Hold him down! He can't use his power for a few m-minutes!" Darryl said while catching his breath. The vampire pushed Keith again, and this time he was successful. Darryl immediately caught Keith and gently put him on the ground before using his vampiric speed, slamming the vampire against the wall. The vampire hissed, but Darryl used his fire, and the vampire yelped, trying to get away. Without hesitation, Darryl pulled the vampire's heart on his body and sank his fangs into his neck. The vampire turned into stone. Darryl looked at the moon and wiped the blood on his lips. He kicked the stone-cold vampire, and it crumbled to the ground. Keith, who was limping, transformed back into his human form, but he was suddenly pinned to the wall. "You're one fvcking stubborn wolf! I clearly told you to stay back," Darryl said. His eyes slowly returned to their original color. "Yeah? And if I fvcking stayed, our asses will get killed, moron!" Keith answered. Darryl pursed his lips. "You're fvcking making me angry," Darryl darkly whispered, making Keith gulp, but he won't back down easily. "And? What are you going to do? Kill me just like you killed that rogue vampire? I dare you." Keith challenged. Darryl looked straight into his eyes, and Keith did the same. Desire roused like wildfire and burned their bodies. One minute they were glaring at each other, but then Keith found himself kissing back Darryl with intensity. Darryl could smell the amazing aroma coming from Keith, and he couldn't help but to want more. He pulled the werewolf close to him, feeling his bare flesh on his arms. He gently bit his lips, asking for permission which Keith gladly gave, and he kissed him harder, deeper, with a fervent urgency. Keith moaned and wrapped his arms around Darryl's neck. For god's sake, they were making out in the dark alleyway like they didn't kill a vampire a few minutes ago, but he liked it. It was a sin to like it, but he did. Darryl was kissing his nape when he froze on his feet, realizing what he was doing. "Stop!" Keith yelled and pushed Darryl away. Darryl was confused but, seeing Keith's flushed face, and he then realized he had broken his own goddamn rules. "Fvck," he cursed. "God damn it," he added and ran his hand through his hair. He looked at Keith, and seeing him naked sparks uncontrollable desire in him. He immediately removed his jacket and handed it to Keith. "Let's forget what happened today," Darryl said, to which Keith agreed without a second thought. He took Darryl's jacket and his torn clothes and ran back to his apartment, leaving Darryl in the dark alleyway.
