Lerisa sighed, knowing she couldn't miss Anthony's birthday party. She had attended every year since his 8th birthday, and now he was an adult.
She knew that if she avoided attending Anthony's party, it might seem as though she was jealous or holding a grudge, and her parents would frown upon her.
Lerisa focused on the road as she drove out of the street, planning to take another turn before reaching the main road.
Just then, she saw a man and a woman kissing in front of a black car parked on the street.
Lerisa wondered who the shameless couple was, kissing in public instead of somewhere private.
She knew that mostly rich families lived in the estate, as most houses were individually owned and occupied by the owners and their families, rather than tenants.
As she drove past the black car, she recognized the woman as Anthony's girlfriend, Clara Harry, kissing a man by the roadside.
Lerisa's jaw dropped, and she slowed down for a better view.
Initially, she intended to look away from the couple. The man wore a white top and black trousers, while the woman wore a short blue denim skirt and a pink crop top.
Lerisa couldn't believe Anthony's sweetheart, whom he planned to propose to, was kissing another man.
She parked ahead of them and continued staring, unable to drive away.
"The same lady Anthony wants to propose to today," Lerisa's heart broke. She also loved Anthony and didn't know how to tell him the truth.
She considered calling Anthony on her phone to catch his girlfriend red-handed.
Lerisa didn't want to be the one to tell Anthony that Clara wasn't wife material and was cheating on him.
"What do I do now?" Lerisa asked herself, still seated in her car.
She thought about confronting Clara but feared the man's reaction, not knowing who he was.
"The man is so shameless, kissing Clara here. Who is he, a thief or a bad man?" Lerisa contemplated as she saw the man speaking to Clara, and then they kissed again.
Lerisa knew Clara had no regard for anyone, being rude, and if it weren't for her love for Anthony, she wouldn't care about Clara's infidelity.
Finally, Lerisa stepped out of her car and discreetly snapped photos of Clara and the man without using the flash to avoid alerting them.
She put her phone back in the car, locked it properly, and walked up to Clara and the man still kissing. The man was hugging Clara closely by her waist.
"Clara!!" Lerisa yelled, remembering how Clara often visited LH Group and spent hours with Anthony in his office.
Lerisa knew she had to endure Anthony's relationship with Clara, whom she wanted him to stop dating.
She had lied to Clara several times, claiming Anthony wasn't around, as she was Anthony's secretary.
Clara looked surprised to see Lerisa, not expecting to encounter someone she knew.
Her best friend had celebrated her birthday in a hotel the previous night, where Clara met the handsome man with her.
He was irresistible, and she couldn't reject his offer for a one-night stand. They exchanged contacts, and he offered to drive her home.
Seeing Lerisa staring coldly made Clara panic, knowing Lerisa would report her to Anthony. But she had lied to the man, claiming she was single before getting involved with him.
Clara loved Anthony, but he was a mummy's boy, doing whatever his parents wanted, which she disliked.
Clara also knew Anthony's mother didn't like her, which was why she didn't want to attend his birthday party at their family home.
Now, seeing Lerisa, she knew she must attend the party.
"Babe, who's she?" the man holding Clara by the waist asked, as Clara turned to face Lerisa.
"I don't know her, babe," Clara replied.
"Clara! What do you mean you don't know me?" Lerisa asked in disbelief.
The man's eyes shifted to Lerisa's face, taking in her appearance.
Lerisa finally approached them, and the man's eyes widened as he admired her beauty.
The sun shone brightly on her, and she looked stunning, her blonde hair glowing.
The man found himself staring at Lerisa, and Clara told him, "Don't listen to her, babe. I don't know who she is. When will you be going home? I need to take a bath."
Clara turned back to the man and kissed him.
Lerisa interrupted, "Since you claim not to know me, Clara, I'll report you to Anthony. So you really are cheating on him?"
"Excuse me, young lady! Who's Anthony? And who the hell are you?" Clara yelled, pretending not to know Lerisa.
Lerisa shook her head in disbelief. "So you don't know me, Clara? It's okay. We shall see."
Lerisa turned and walked away, disliking how the man stared at her.
She returned to her car, still watching them, then got in and drove off.
Clara frowned, as she still loved Anthony and his money. She told the man, Remy Creed, "Don't mind her, babe. I really don't know who she is... Imagine her accusing me wrongly."
"Hmm..." Remy replied, continuing to watch Lerisa drive away.
He finally said, "It's alright, April. I have to go now. It was a pleasure meeting you. We'll chat some other time. Goodbye."
"Okay, bye Remy," Clara kissed him goodbye on his cheek and watched him drive off.
