The Black Pilot

Norva enters the camp after distributing the food to all. As Paula and the others listen to Darr , Norva joins in to drink Wine.

"So as handsome as I was at 10 I was shy around girls" Says Darr as he continues his story.

"You mean dwarfies or whatever they are called. Tell me what's this Elf's World as everybody says is like" asks Gawwd.

"It's a magical world .There are no predators or beasts there only happy people." Says Darr.

"Well you were not like that when you were recruited "Says Gawwd.

"I saw a very grumpy little man with a black commando suit flying the corner of the island."Says Gawwd.

"You were there that time"asks Paul to Gawdd.

"I was recruited very young. I was only 22 when I was recruited. You know about me what happened to me and the master. But a year later after I was in, Charlie recruited Vaz ,and other  commandos. They said they needed a pilot commando after one of them got killed during the Kree and the skrull war. So they recruited Darr as I heard "Says Gawwd.

"Yes it took 6 more years to end the war" said Darr.

"You were talking about your early life, so what happened after that" asks Norva.

"Well at 10 I was saying I was handsome and we dwarves are fast growing creatures compared to elfs."Says Darr.

"Fast growing...."Says Paul.

"Compared to the elfs ok" Says Darr.

"Will you let him speak Paul. And what after" Says Paula.

"Well when I was 13 ,i met a girl .She was the daughter of the Leader of our planets defense army.

She was very beautiful. Blue eyes, Gold hair .We used to meet every evening after that. I wanted to become a pilot that's what I used to say to her as I saw aircrafts flying over us. I remember she kissed me when I said that" Says Darr.

"Wow I thought you never knew about love" Says John.

"Hey I am calculating my age in earth years ok. That makes me already 36 ok .What do you think I only fly space ships." Says Darr.

"Sorry. I was angry with you that time when I left the pod with the horse" Says John.

"Ok you can say that later. What after then" Says Norva.

"Apology accepted. And After then we couldn't be happy without seeing each other. We were madly in love. Everything was going perfect until the invasion happened." Says Darr.

"Invasion? what Invasion" asks Paul.

"The invasion of the space bandits. You know the one with the black knights or what they called it" Says Darr.

"Our king informed us that every boy who could fight would be recruited into the defense army. Apparently these space bandits were proving to be stronger than our defensive army .My father thought it was just a scheme for getting more recruits. So he let me be recruited. He knew I wanted to be a pilot so he let me be recruited in the aviation sector of the defense army. But what we thought was just a scheme was about to separate all of us." Says Darr.

"I along 300 of the young boys were recruited .I was sad most of the time  and only happy during the pilot training session. Then the worst thing happened. Those so called bandits with just a few men attacked us and killed the best men we had in the defense system. I only remembered the black armor with horses like your John except these were black who could fly. They were everywhere .Bullets couldn't kill them .I was still a kid to fight and fly. In just a moment they killed every living thing that was in their way.I hid in the navigation tower which they didn't raid .Almost half of our city was burned and most of the soldiers and the men were killed." Says Darr.

"And what happened" Says Paul.

"And they left ....My father was killed .Only my sister remained out of my family. They were not bandits .They did not take anything from our house or did not even want the kingdom. I heard they killed the king and mounted his head at the top of the castle to make the people see. Like they only wanted fear and chaos" Says Darr.

"Chaos. Did one of them wear a white armor and rode a white horse?" asks Norva.

"Well I didn't see all of them. But there atleast 200 of them in black" Says Darr.

"The death knights Ofcourse" Says Norva.

"You knew them. You mean as in the story about the white warrior and the black knights" asks Darr.

"Yes I fought against them" Says Norva.

"You fought against them. So all those stories are true then." asks Darr.

"The masters and the gravity well" Says Darr.

"Yes.I was 30 when they attacked .I still remember"

Says Norva.

"Wow I thought I was the older one" Says Darr.

"But you don't age after you become a protector ."Says Gawwd.

"Well I'm still 28 then" Says Norva.

"Yeah well I'm 27 then" Says Darr.

"You are not an offered one. And look at you. You already got wrinkles." Says Gawwd.

"Will you let him continue and then what happen after Darr" asks Paula.

"Well half of the population was swept, but we managed to survive. Everytime we used to be strong ,that head mounted in the castle with magic made us fear. I  was relieved to see my love still alive .Her father was injured during the invasion. When I met her ,everytime she was in fear. She was depended on her father and now her father was in a wheelchair. So I decided if I'll be a pilot I'll be in the defense. I trained hard all those years. And her fear vanished .At 16 ,i was the youngest pilot and she was at my side. I even learned to shoot guns. I thought i was good.2 years later I was recruited by the aviation army of the galaxy. I was the best at flying and also could kill bandits as I was provided with a pod of my own by the aviation. I used to roam through my galaxy with the pod. I used to kiss her and make love to her whenever I was home. At 18 I became a father, a loving husband and a pilot. And then they attacked again. Those black men with horses were flying everywhere around our home killing everyone. Our troops attacked them but to no avail. I was only a pilot . I took my way back and as I returned I say the most tragic scenario. My city was burning. My wife whom I couldn't imagine living without lied in a pool of blood. No One was alive except my sister who placed my son in my arms. I wanted to avenge my wife. If I were a fighter I thought this would have never happened. I feared next time it would be my son .So I joined the galaxy commandos and learned to attack from a pod. I trained for many years in the galaxy commandos. I had left my son in my sister's arm when I joined the commandos. That was the hardest thing to do in my life. But I didn't want my son to die too. So I trained with the galaxy commandos for 9 more years as I became the very best at flying. In 9 years i learned everything that is to know about the cosmos. The galaxy commandos had aviation, infantry men and riding men. Left Vaz was one of the infantry men leaders, I was the leader of the aviation men. I was offered a test by the protectors before which I refused because if I were selected I would have never seen my son. I went to meet the Captain of the Protectors to apologize that I wouldn't give the test until I heard that apocalypse occurred in my planet. My sister had died and my son was no where to be found. I searched for him everywhere with my men and myself alone .I decided this planet was a curse for me. Everything I loved died. There was nothing for me here. I  asked whether there was again another recruit. And this was the only time I felt lucky, one of the pilots had died in the commandos. So I was asked to give a test. I passed the test and then I met Charlie. The finest individual I ever met in my life I respected after my father. I learned many things about the cosmos, different stories .Gawdd and Baruto might remember the time. They were already one of the Protectors then. And the rest I'm sure Paula and you know Paul ."Says Darr.

"Wow your family was swept by the knights. That is a tragic story. I thought mine was tragic" Says Norva.

"Yeah little man. I thought losing an eye and an arm was tragic but you were very tough" Says Gawwd.

"The black pilot, I remember Charlie calling you. I envied you when Charlie always looked up to you more than the protectors. That's why he promoted you didn't he .So you could be with the protectors advising us. We were only two then but there wasn't any wise one like you until Paula. Well I was most of the time leading the infantry men, I didn't realize you were our aviation cover during our battles." Says Gawwd.

"Well that's my story" says Darr.

"Only Charlie knew my story. When he entered my mind. I told him not too. He cried when he entered my mind. But after a while he said that "we all are individuals driven by our ambitions no matter what good or bad but it's reaching the ambition that is important". I didn't realized what he wanted to say." Says Darr.

Everyone leaves to the aircraft to sleep.
