Chapter Seven:
Aida’s POV
I dropped down from the taxi and paid, before rushing into the building. My first day at work at Diamond Group of Companies. As an intern, but whatever.
The sun was high that day, like it congratulated me for making it this far despite everything that’s happened so far. I met the receptionist at her desk and waved at her.
She replied with an eye roll but at least, she wouldn’t say I didn’t try to give her respect. In front of Sir Zachary’s office, I exhaled and inhaled again, to prepare myself for what was to come.
“You can come in.”
I froze. He could hear me from outside his door? I shrugged, walking in. “Good morning, sir.” I had a big smile.
“I wish that smile would brighten my day.” He said with a sigh.
Did he mean my smile? I smiled widely. “It just could, sir. Is there anything you need me to do for you?”
He looked around him, then took out a file. “I think this is the record of important guests we’d be having today.” He gave me another file. “And these are the cars they will be looking at.”
These were really good. The guests were all mostly young men and I definitely knew how to talk to young men. The other file was information and selling points for each of the cars.
“You should know, this isn’t your job as my P.A. It’s my duty as these are VVIP. However, I also have a meeting that I shouldn’t miss.” Sir Zachary explained.
This was probably why he wanted me to start immediately. I was glad that I accepted and would now work first hand with rich buyers. It was a dream come true at the very start.
“Very well, sir. I’d do my best so you wouldn’t regret passing this down to me.” I made a small bow.
“Yes. Your office is opposite mine.” He pointed in front of him. “But I couldn’t find a pink couch though.” He added lowly.
What was that? I chuckled, realizing it’d be another absentminded talk. “Thank you sir. I’d take my leave now.”
The office was huge, three times the size of my current room. Majority of the features were pink, except the couch. I chuckled, slapping my face to contain my excitement.
Without wasting time gawking and gushing, I plopped down on my seat and began reading the information about the cars.
One buyer would be dropping by in about ninety minutes and I needed to speak professionally by the time he arrived. After about an hour, I had finished and understood everything.
I paced around my office reciting what I just read, so it’d stick to my memory. “I think I also need to see the cars before the buyer comes. For mental knowledge.” I said firmly.
I kept on reciting till the most parts stuck before leaving the office. The receptionist was at her desk, and I rushed to her. “Excuse me but could you tell me where the cars to…”
“Oh, please come over here, fine Sir.” The receptionist ignored me, speaking to someone behind me. I frowned before feeling Dennis coming closer to the surface.
Why was she being active when I’m in a workplace surrounded by humans? Then I felt a hand go to my waist. I became alert yet my body couldn’t move.
“A curvy werewolfess. Rare find.” A deep voice said behind me.
I felt his groin on my hips. He was definitely a werewolf, and a strong one if my body refused to move before him.
Still, forcing myself, I shifted away from him and shot him a glare. My face softened on regrettably realizing something.
Indeed, he was a good looking red-haired man with finely shaped jawline and an intense gaze, but he was also one of my buyers! In fact, he was the one I expected soon. Neon, a businessman.
It was never said he was werewolf though, and I could feel that he could be an Alpha werewolf with the way he silently creeped on me. The receptionist had a jealous gaze on me.
What about my situation was something to be jealous about? Being creeped out by a man stronger than you? Neon leaned towards me making me shake. “What’s your name, little one?”
Little one? This wasn’t the time for pet names. I frowned. “I’d be the one taking you for the tour to decide the car you want to buy.”
“Hmm, you work here?” he looked around. “What can I say, you have excellent taste and must have the smarts to match.”
Strangely, I really appreciated the compliment. Getting into this Company was hard yet I slayed it and got a good role. Only blind men, like Alpha Red, wouldn’t think it’s impressive.
“Thank you.” I smiled then turned to the receptionist. “I will need the key to the garage please, where the new cars are.”
“The Manager has it dummy!” the receptionist snapped at me. Mr. Neon’s compliment to me must have pissed her off.
Next I heard was a low growl from Mr. Neon. He inched towards the receptionist. “Be respectful to your new junior, miss b***h. And could you kindly go get the keys for us?”
Miss b***h? I found myself humored. He definitely liked giving nicknames. I’d say my first customer had found favor in me. The receptionist left her desk and hurried to Sir Zachary’s office.
“This way please, I think it’s here.” I gestured to Mr. Neon but he only stood there wearing an uninterpretable smirk.
I’d have taken it as lust, which I was used to from men, but this one seemed different.
“I didn’t think werewolves were interested in cars.” He finally spoke instead of just staring.
“I thought the same.”
“What pack are you from, little—” he paused, “If you hate the nickname, you could just tell me your name.”
His gaze was really intense. “Aida Sundew. I have no pack.”
I noticed his eyes light up when I said the last part, he leaned towards me again. “Interesting.” I wondered if he as going to ask me to become his pack member since he seemed like an Alpha.
“You see, I’ve lived a long life with humans and I’d say, it was quite boring, especially the females.” He sighed.
I asked. “And your pack?”
“I have no pack.” He repeated my line. “I count it lucky to meet an interesting werewolfess like you, who’s free like myself.”
The receptionist returned with the key and I grabbed it swiftly. Enough customer service to this man, I needed to help him get his car immediately so he’d leave. I hurried towards the garage.
“Don’t be in a hurry, Aida.” I heard him say. “When I get my car, you’d still follow me for a short ride. It’s part of customer service.”
My skin crawled at the last part. This man was different shades of creepy, but I’d endure everything. How hard could it be?
