I woke up a few hours later to Raven pacing and no sign of Markel. "Raven?" I said sleepily, and he was instantly at my side. "Where's Markel?" I asked as I rubbed my eyes. "He's...still at the west border. They won't stop." He said solemnly and I was filled with dread and worry, but I knew he was alive, otherwise Mari would have felt the bond snap. I was thankful for that small solace at least, that we would know if he were to die. "Is he okay?" I asked and Raven nodded, eliciting a sigh of relief from me. "He's alright, barely wounded and still standing strong. He's strong and tough, Avia. He'll pull through this no problem." He said and I lightly smiled. "Thank goodness for that. I was worried..."
