Caleb
I was becoming very impatient! Nate and his dad were still not here. They said an hour. It has been more than that! I was due to head out. Max had found a possible location for where they are. He has just left. I didn’t want to drag him into this more than needed. I was pacing the room, frustration taking over me. I have been checking my phone every two seconds. I had not heard back from anyone, not this far anyway. Finally, I decided to try calling Nate again. I lifted my phone, hitting the call button, but it rang out.
“f**k!”
I shout, pulling at my hair and throwing my phone on the bed. I haven’t felt this let down in a long time, and all it is doing is making me angrier by the minute. I paced back and forth some more then my room door chapped. I haven’t ordered anything, so it can’t be room service, and no one knows where I am, and the people that do know don’t know what room I’m in.
“Who is it?” I asked as I stood with my back against the door.
“Take a wild guess.” The male voice replied.
I knew that voice anywhere. I unlocked the door and swung it open.
“Nate, I didn’t think you were ever coming by. How did you know where I was?”
“Remember who my dad is.” Nate laughed as he reached in for a man hug.
“That is true,” I said, hugging him back.
When we pull apart, I realise Nate is alone. I thought his dad was coming with him?
“Where is your dad?”
“He had to go and meet with some people,” he said nervously.
“What? He is supposed to be finding Scarlett, not meeting with some people,” I snap.
“And he will, soon,” Nate said, resting his hand on my shoulder.
Soon? No, not soon. I want him to find her right now! I can see Nate just staring at me. We have worked together long enough for him to know when I’m fuming.
“Honestly, buddy, my dad has this under control,” Nate said calmly.
“I want her found now, Nate. It has been too long since she has been taken from me.”
“My dad is going to be calling me very soon. He said as soon as he meets up with the people he needs to see, he will call.” He said.
I do not know what they expect me to do right now, but all I know is I cannot sit here for much longer without knowing what is happening. I went to get a glass of water as my phone started to ring.
“Hello,” I answered.
“Logan, it’s Jacob. I have seen Scarlett.” He responded to me.
“You have? Where is she? Is she OK?”
I hear him sigh on the other end, and the moment he did, fear took over me. The worst thoughts possible started running through my mind.
“She is OK, for now,” he said, “But Caleb, she doesn’t have long until they start really hurting her,”
Jacob is one person I know who will always be honest with me, no matter what.
“What does that mean?” I whimper.
“They have given her until tomorrow to start talking, or they are going to start torturing her,” he said.
I didn’t know how to respond to what I was just being told.
“I have managed to get myself in the group that take shifts at going into her with food and drinks.” He said with a cheerful voice.
“Well, that is good news, I suppose.”
“Honestly, I am doing everything I can on this end,” Jacob said.
“I know you are, and I am very grateful. I will see you soon, mate.” I told him before hanging up.
I could see out of the corner of my eye Nate just staring at me with rage in his eyes. He must have picked up what I just said to Jacob and realised what I meant by seeing him soon.
“You are not going there, Caleb!” Nate said firmly, “You don’t know where they are,”
“Yes, I am going,” I said firmly, “Jacob confirmed where I thought they were,”
Nate’s rage turned to concern quickly. I get that he is worried about me! And I know I shouldn’t be doing this alone, but I don’t care about any of that right now.
“What use are you going to be? One against God knows how many,” he said, beginning to pace.
“Nate, they are going to f*****g torture her because of me! I am going, and you or no one else is going to stop me,”
“Come on, mate, my dad is all over this,” Nate said.
“Not quick enough, so I am going,” I said as I walked towards my room door.
“Caleb, please stop.”
“No,” I said as I stormed out of the room, slamming the door behind me.
I can’t believe I am doing this, but I need to get Scarlett out of this trouble I have gotten her into. I went straight to the lift and pressed the button to take me to the underground car park. As I approached the car, I got straight in and started the engine. I pulled out of the space I was parked in, and as I made my way to the exit, I saw a convoy of black jeeps making their way in. I didn’t look to see what was happening. I had other things on my mind.
I headed for my destination. I knew where I was going. I knew this place like the back of my hand. I had to when I was on the streets and working with the gang. You need to find the most secluded places to do business. It was about a twenty-minute drive.

I had arrived. It was an old abandoned factory they were keeping her. I made sure to park out of view, but somewhere I could see what was going on. There were two guys out front, and I knew them both. They were horrible human beings who have no limits. I will need another way in. I may not survive this, but I am sure as hell not getting killed at the first hurdle!
I have been here a few times in the past to do drop-offs and pickups, but I have never been in the building. I know there is a side entrance, though, as I have had to collect from there a few times, so I will check that door. Surely they won’t have people on every door for one person they have got captive unless they have more which wouldn’t surprise me.
I peeked around the side of the building, and no one was around, so there is only one thing for it which is to make my way over to the door. I am going to attempt to get in. After having one more look around to make sure there is definitely no one in sight, I started strolling over to the door. Reaching out and placing my hand on the handle, I gave it a turn, and it opened with ease.
This moment can change everything!!!
