I thought my happiness depended on it. I sleep with it, eat with it and play with it all the time. I cling to it as if my life depended on that piece of fabric sewn to imitate a cuddly creature which in reality isn't something you should hug at all unless you want to be strangled and torn into pieces alive. When I got older it changed. My infatuation for a fellow student had me thinking that my happiness depended on whether I would see him in school or not. That includes watching him flirt with girls who were ten times prettier than me and I was devastated. Well, I said I was older, not wiser. When I was finally more mature, my Mother taught me that happiness shouldn't depend on anything or anyone but yourself. Moreover, you shouldn't put your happiness in someone else's hands. She said happiness is a choice that you should hold on your own. I believed her. In fact, I agree with her. I just wish it was that easy...
