The Hidden Heiress

Chapter 2

After saying goodbye to their daughter and their mother, Ohvin and Charlotte left the old lady’s mansion and drove to their home.

On the way back Charlotte looked tensed, she seemed worried. Ohvin noticed her worried expression.

“Char, why do you look so worried?” Ohvin asks lovingly to his wife. Charlotte just sighs.

“I don’t know Ohvin. I am just feeling like something bad is going to happen. What if something happens to us!! Who will take care of bambina!? She is too small and innocent for this cruel world? What if somebody hurt her?”  Charlotte says about her worries. Ohvin holds Charlotte’s hand, while driving with the other hand, and rubs her hand trying to calm her a bit.

“Char, I know you are worried, but you need to calm down. You are just being paranoid. Nothing will happen to us or our bambina. We both will be there to take care of her,” Ohvin tried to console his wife. Charlotte smiles at her husband and kisses his hand.

When they were half the way away from the old lady’s house, an elderly couple were asking for a lift at the highway. When Ohvin’s and Charlotte’s Car was coming to their way, the old couple tried to ask for lift with them, hoping that Ohvin and Charlotte would give them a lift and drop them to the next town.

“Ohvin, looks like they need some lift, let’s give them the lift and drop them to their destination.” Charlotte suggested to Ohvin.

“As you say my love,” Ohvin answered to his wife.

They stopped the car in front of the elderly couple and offered their help to them.

“Do you guys need any help?” Charlotte asks as she opens here window.

“Yes dear, we had to go to the next town, would you please drop us there,” the lady asks Charlotte sweetly.

“We will be passing the next town, so we can drop you guys on the way, miss. You guys can get inside the car,” Charlotte says and asks them to get inside the car.

“Thank you so much dear,” The lady says, and gets inside the car along with her husband.

“So, you guys are from this town itself?” Ohvin asks as he was driving.

“Yes son, we are from this town itself. We heard that there is a new food stall in the next town, and my wife here wanted to taste the food over the. Now what kind of a man will I be if I don’t fulfil my wife’s wishes?” the man says and laughs. Ohvin and Charlotte laugh along with him. The lady just shakes her head.

“Where are you guys from? I have not seen you here before,” the lady asks Ohvin and Charlotte.

“We are not from any town near here, but my mother’s house is at London. We have our small business, which my mom handles.” Ohvin answers.

“That’s great, you guys are married?” the lady asks.

“Yes, our 15th year anniversary will be in next month,” Charlotte says and smiles.

“15th year? That’s great. Gorge and I just crossed 30 years last month,” The lady says.

“That’s great,” Ohvin says.

“So, you guys have kids,” the man asks.

“Yes, we have a daughter, she just turned twelve,” Charlotte says and smiles.

“What about you?” Ohvin asks the elderly couple. The elderly couple just sigh.

“We had a son, but he died in a accident at his college years back. Now it only the two of us,” the lady answers sadly.

“Oh, we are really sorry to hear that,” Charlotte says, sympathising the elderly couple’s situation.

“It’s alright dear, you don’t have to be sorry. It is all written in our fate. We can’t to anything about it, other than just accepting it. And we know that our son is in a better place than here. So, don’t worry,” The lady says giving a sad smile. 

Charlotte nods and smiles at the elderly couple.

All four of them were speaking about somethings and Ohvin was driving the car smoothly.

When they were almost near to the town, all of a sudden, a truck came in a full high speed from the other direction, and hit the car, Ohvin was driving, sending the car flying out of the highway and landing on the sideways.

Seeing the car fly away to the side way, two people got down from the truck and went towards the car. The car was so damaged that no one would be able to understand who was inside the car.

“Do you think the job is done now?” the first man asks the second man as he was looking at the scene in front of him.

“Seeing the car, I don’t think anyone has survived the crash. They are probably dead,” the second man says to the first man.

“You are right, lets call boss and tell him the news,” the first man says to the second man.

“Yea, right. You call boss. It’s your turn to speak to him,” the second man says and laughs.

“Yea, whatever.” The first man says getting annoyed by the second man. The first man takes out the phone and dials to a number. When the person from the other end picks the call, the first man speaks with respect and fear. But mostly fear.

“Sir, we had done the job. Everyone in the car are dead,” the first man says to the man on the other end of the call. The man on the other end laughs evilly.

“Good job boys!! Finally, the only people on my way to the treasure are out of the picture, or should I say this world!! Good job!! Now clear that place and make sure not to leave any clue to make it seem suspicious. It should look like an accident. Understand?” the man on the other end of the call orders to the two men.

“Ok boss,” the first man answers. Hearing his answer, the man on the other end cuts the call.

“Now what will you do Madam Davis?” the man screams and laughs evilly.
