Thor came up on deck. He had been napping after his forenoon watch. He stretched and gazed about. The sea was rolling and blue. The sky had only a few puffy clouds and there was a fair wind. The Alexandria was a day out of Port Royal and making good time. Thor smiled. He loved his life at sea. He looked up to the poop deck. Miguel was there, along with Brewster. Iakob was steering the ship. Miguel waved and motioned for him to join them. Thor climbed up to the deck and stood with the men as the ship cruised peacefully along. “Good weather and a fair wind,” Mr. Brewster said. “If this wind holds, we will have a pleasant voyage home.” Just then Raphael, who was on watch in the crow’s nest, called out, “Sail ho! One point on the larboard bow!” The men looked in the direction indicated. Th
