Chapter Seven: Crescent Fang Pack Part One Aurora POV: "Rora, wake up." I heard someone above me as they shook my arm. Ugh! I wanted to sleep some more! The conservation I had with everyone earlier had done a number on my brain, and not to mention apparently being brought to another universe by a freaking portal which explained why my body was screaming at me. Life was taking a whole new meaning; astrophysicists would blow their minds if they ever came to know about this. "Goddess Rora, get the hell up; you've been asleep for more than thirteen hours now." Said the voice, which now I could tell was Kai. Wait, did he say thirteen hours! That caused my eyes to pop open insistently and look around my surroundings. Wow! I don't remember when I slept this long. With Med school, rotations and daddy's health, I hardly slept more than six hours a day; thirteen was like a new record. Gosh! I really must've been exhausted, more like my brain, but still. Rubbing my eyes to clear the sleep out of them, I prop up on my elbows and see Kai staring at me with an amused grin on his face. Okay, what is the little dweeb planning? That smile is no good. Before I could open my mouth and threaten him not to mess with me, he beat me to it. "Get ready, sleepy head. I'm taking you on a tour of the pack. Oh, and mom and dad want you in dad's office; they have something to discuss with you." Said Kai, then walked out of my room. Discuss! God, no! I couldn't afford to lose more neurons; I was legit going to hemorrhage. Next thing I knew, they were going to tell me today that I was a flying turtle or something. God, I knew that was impossible, but apparently, I was already a Lycan with a repressed creature in my head, so why not become a flying turtle as well, while you're at it. Groaning, I stretched out my limbs, popping my back; I slid out of the heavenly sheets I had slept in the entire night and half of yesterday and walked into the bathroom. The moment I walked in, my eyes that were half closed with sleepiness were now wide open; if I thought the room was glamorous, the bathroom was a whole different level. White marble tiles adored the floor and walls, with strikes of black running on them. A long counter with his and her sink was on one side with golden taps and an edge-to-edge mirror. There was a white marble bathtub right in the middle with the same black chandelier above as the one in the room right over the bathtub. Behind the bathtub was a glass shower with the same golden taps that could fit at least three people. The whole place was beautiful; the i********: pictures here would be amazing with the lighting. Jumping into the shower, I cleaned my hair and conditioned it. Everything was already there, the same products I used back home. I wondered if this place had a Walmart or a Sephora, since all of those things looked like they were from earth. Another thing to ask mom and Shawn when I see them. If I was going to live here, I needed to know what was available and what was not. And, if not, where that so-called portal was, if I needed to drop by earth to get something. God! Even thinking of all this was messing with my head, like I needed a portal to drop by Walmart. After finishing my shower, I jumped out and dried my body, applying the moisturizer I found in one of the drawers; I wrapped my hair in a towel and went towards what was to be the walk-in closet. Walking in, I was stunned. Not only were my things from back home neatly hung, but there was a bunch of new stuff ranging from pants, jeans, and shirts to dresses and a whole bunch of them. I knew mom and Shawn must have done this. It warmed my heart at how much they had done to make me feel at home. I appreciated them for it, but they didn't need to get me a whole new wardrobe. However, I was still thankful; it saved me an awful long pending shopping trip. Grabbing a cute red sundress with black polka dots over it, I put it on and paired it with some black pumps I found on the shoe rack at the back of the closet. I let my long black hair fall down my back since it was still wet so that it could dry. Then walked out of the room. Kai had mentioned me going to meet mom and Shawn in his office, but I had no clue where it was; opening my room door in hopes of finding Kai lurking around, I came face to face with a cute little girl who probably wasn't older than fifteen or sixteen. I saw her lock eyes with me, giving me a shy smile; I smiled back at her. "Alpha has asked me to escort you to this office. If you can, please follow me." Said the little girl. Alpha? When it hit, she meant Shawn. He said that he was known as alpha and mom as Luna. It would take some time getting used to those titles or names, whatever they were exactly. I smiled back at the girl and nodded, asking her to lead the way. As we walked down the hallway, I couldn't help but gasp at the place. It was beautiful and so big. Shinny white marble floors ran throughout the house, with chandeliers placed every few feet from one another on the ceilings, plants and portraits decorated the hallways. It was beautiful! You could tell mom had set the place up; it was just to her taste, giving it a boho vibe. It felt oddly like home when she lived with daddy and me. Maybe living here with Shawn and her won't be so bad. I was broken out of thoughts when we stopped in front of large mahogany black double doors. The girls knocked on the door, and Shawn's rough voice could be heard from the other side telling us to come in. Turning around, I smiled at the girl and asked. "What's your name, sweetheart?" I said. The little girl looked surprised I was talking to her. Strange, I was easily very approachable. "Nina." She said, smiling a bit. I returned her smile and put out my hand for her to shake. "Well, thank you for bringing me here, Nina. I'm Aurora, by the way, but you already knew that, I'm guessing" I said. Nina laughed and shook my hand. Giving her head a little pat and promising to meet with her later, I went into Shawn's office and saw him sitting in a fancy executive chair with mom on his lap as they groped one another; I couldn't help but blush! Ugh! Kai had mentioned they were clingy. God! I didn't need the PDA. It was awkward enough. They were so lost in each other they hadn't noticed I was standing there. I cleared my throat, gaining their attention. Seeing me, mom quickly shuffled off Shawn's lap and came towards me; I could even see a slight blush on Shawn's face. I couldn't help but chuckle. They were acting like little teenagers caught doing something they shouldn't be. "You know I'm all good with the lovey-dovey and touchy-feely stuff, just not in front of me. Seeing your mom being groped isn't the most pleasing sight." I said, chuckling, making them both blush. I laughed at their reaction and went towards the seats in front of Shawn's desk and sat on one with mom sitting on the one beside me. "You called for me, dad?" I asked Shawn. "Yes, Rora. So I talked to my friend over at the royal hospital, and they're ready to have you on board as early as the day after tomorrow if that's okay with you?" Said Shawn. I couldn't help but stop the smile from spreading on my face. They knew how much my career mattered to me, and they wasted no time ensuring I didn't feel like it didn't matter to them. "Of course, it is, dad! Thank you so much. But, did you tell them that I'm a human doctor, not a veterinarian?" I said. The moment I said the vet part, both mom and Shawn started laughing, making me blush. Crap! I forgot that they, I mean, we, were still somewhat human. "Ugh, stop! It's gonna take some time to get used to." I whined. Both mom and Shawn tried controlling their laughter but failed, and after a few minutes, when they calmed down but still had huge smiles on their faces, mom turned to me and said. "It's okay, baby girl; it'll take some time, as you said. Yes, we've told Barin everything, they'll help out with some Lycan anatomy, but he said it's ninety-eight percent the same thing and that a lot of the doctors from the wolf kingdom go to earth to become doctors." Said mom reassuringly. That had my eyes bulging out! I didn't think that was possible! These people were full of surprises. After half an hour of discussing the logistics and how things would go, Kai walked in. "Alright, ease up, guys. I need to give Rora a tour of Crescent Fang now." Said Kai, grabbing my hand and pulling me off the seat with one swift tug. Ugh! Him and his bulging muscles. He's going to dislocate my arm one day. I glared at him as I rubbed my arm. I heard them chuckle. "Easy there, Kai; she hasn't gotten her Lycan, yet she's still fragile." Said Shawn. "Yeah yeah. Let's bounce porcelain doll." Said Kai, winking at me and leading me out of Shawn's office. "Don't be late for dinner." Shouted mom as we were leaving. After yelling an okay, Kai and I headed out to explore what was to be my new home now.
