Chapter 3: Winnie

2050 Words
I didn't know what to say on the walk home. I felt like a scolded child whose daddy had to pick her up after she snuck out to a party and got waisted. Well, I guess I did sneak out to a party. Except for this case, it's my 21 year old brother and his friends. We got up to our apartment, and I instantly flopped down onto the couch with Ally next to me. I crossed my arms like I was pouting. If they want to treat me like a child, fine, I will act like one. Fricken ass hats. Half an hour went by, and we were all sitting around in awkward silence, waiting on my fricken brother. "Alright, well, since Wes is taken his sweet time, I'm going to go change into some pjs." Ally jumped up with me. "Can i borrow some? Im just going to stay the night. I'm not going to miss the s**t show of your life." I shook my head in disapproval. "I guess so. It's been a while since we've had a sleepover." Cole tried to make his voice all seductive like. "So it true that girls make out when they have sleepovers? I hope that means I'll have a front row seat." I flipped him off. I leaned in closer to Ally like I was going to kiss her and pulled away last second. "Wait, I don't kiss and tell, nor do I put on a show for a little perv like you. You're disgusting, you know that?" Parker laughed. "He does he just doesn't care." Cole put his hand on his heart. "I really dont care if you two are going to tease me like this." He winked at us. I flicked him in the nose. Ally and I headed to my room while laughing our asses off. Ally plopped down on my bed. "You know if Cole wasn't such a creep he actually would be sexy as fuck." I shook my head at her. "I wouldn't if I were you. You will end up with an STD. The way those boys sleep around is seriously gross. I will say that they seem to be behaving more with me as a roommate. Maybe I'll tame the bad boy in them or at least the man w***e in them." Ally laughed even louder. She started going through all my school books. "You really are a nerd, you know that? So, does your dad and brother know you're going into sports medicine?" I shook my head. "No, they don't. At first, I thought they would be proud. Now I'm more worried that they won't like me being around athletic guys. Especially since I will start my internship next week. I thought I would get girls basketball or volleyball. Nope, I got men's fall soccer. It's kind of why I put off telling them. I just grew up being around sports. I thought it was fitting since I already know so much about them. I can't back out now without failing. Do you think Wes will find out if I don't tell him?" "You worry too much. If it's something you want to do, then do it. Don't let them dictate your life anymore. You're already rebelling and doing what you want. Just keep doing it. It's your life, Winnie. Do what will make you happy." "I'll tell him tonight. He's already pissed. I might as well just get it all out there." "I like it. I'll make sure to make some popcorn for the show." I rolled my eyes. "You get way too much amusement out of my life." I stripped out my clothes. Including my bra. I never slept in them, and I wasn't about to start now. I slid on a pair of tiny shorts pajamas with cats on them and a white cropped boxy t-shirt. Ally was shaking her head in a disapproving way. "Seriously, Winnie? There are two smoking hot guys out there, and you're going to wear cat pajamas? What are you sixty?" I stuck my tongue out at her. "There comfy, and I've had them forever. Plus, I'm going to wear those sexy pajamas out there in front of those guys. Cole is having enough issues controlling himself." I tossed her a pair of hot dog shorts pajamas. "Winnie, I am not wearing these." "You can either wear hotdogs or cats pajamas, or you can go home and miss the show." She growled out. "Fine." I tossed her a yellow t-shirt. I'm pretty sure she wants to kill me right now. She paused at the door. "You know we're going to get made fun of, right?" I looked down at our pajamas. I thought they were pretty modest in what we could be wearing. It could be like what Ally wanted us to wear. Which was just skimpy silk and lace. I would rather save that for when I start dating. "Why would they make fun of us?" "Seriously, Winnie, how naive are you? We are literally wearing wiener's and p*****s. We are walking out into a trap." I rolled my eyes again. "You're being dramatic. I doubt they say anything. Besides, the hot dog has eyes, a mouth , and is holding an American flag. They are very patriotic. There's nothing to be embarrassed about." She was giving me a stone cold look. I guess that meant she wasn't in the mood for my jokes. "I hate you." "No, you love me. This is payback for getting amusement over my shitty life." She opened the door and stormed out. It took all of two seconds for Cole to bust out laughing. I heard him yell. "I take it you like wiener's, Ally?" I heard her grumble out. "Ha. Ha. Very funny. Besides, I'm not the wiener loving one. There Winnies. I'm just borrowing them, and she wants to torture me. Besides she has p*****s on hers." That b***h threw me under the bus. Both Cole and Parker looked my way. Cole laughed. " I still like the weiner ones better Are they holding an American flag on a stick? This just keeps getting even better." Ally flopped down on the couch, feeling defeated. "I hate all of you." Parker put his hand up defensively. "Hey, I said nothing." She pointed at him. "No, but you laughed." I sat down beside her and rested my head against her shoulder. "Are we supposed to wait on him all night? He clearly didn't care enough to come back right away... I'm sorry he made you guys leave with us, but you have to admit this is getting out of hand." Ally nooded in agreement. "You guys do realize that Winnie is 21. She's not a child, and Wes has you treating her like she is one. " Wes came barging in seconds later. Ally looked at him with a death glare. "Were your ears ringing?" He groaned. "Ugh, what are you doing here, Ally? Shouldn't you be at home?" Lynda mumbled under breath. "Just pathetic." "Well, if you and your controlling dad would have let her live with me like she wanted, I wouldn't have to be here. Plus, I'm not going to let my best friend deal with her psychotic controlling brother and his snobby entitled b***h of girlfriend on her own." We all turned to face Colby when he started clapping. "I like the red head. She's fun. " Lynda rolled her eyes. "Her hair is fake." Ally spoke with quick wit. "At least my boobs and nose are real." Colby lost it with laughter. "Oohhh Burrrnnn." I tried to cover up the smile that was plastered on my face. Colby knew how to make things less tense. He's hilarious. I'll give him that even if he is the world's biggest perv. Wes was looking even more pissed off. Lucky for me, he hasn't noticed what I was wearing yet. He would freak if he saw that I was wearing this in front of everyone. I tried to speak calmly. I was just so worked up that it was becoming extremely difficult. I needed to get this out. "Wes, what you did tonight was ridiculous. I'm 21 years old. If I want to go to a party I have every right. Just like I have every right to get drunk, have s*x, or dance on a damn pole. None of which concern you, nor do you have the right to tell me I can't. Or have your friends stop me." I took a deep breath. "If you don't start giving me some freedom, I'm going to move out." He sighed. "Winnie, do you really think dad will pay for it if you move out? We're both trying to protect you." "Protect me from what exactly? Guys like you? No, you're trying to control me, and I've had enough. All I'm asking is to go to a few parties and have damn beer. You need to let me make my own mistakes. I can't keep living like this because the truth is I haven't really lived at all. You embarrassed me tonight, and for the first time, I didn't feel invisible. I felt beautiful, sexy and confident, and you had no right to take that from me.... You need to let it go. It was five years ago. I have." The last person I suspected to speak up did. Parker stood from where he sat and walked closet to Wes. "It's time, man. If you and your dad keep this up, she's just going to rebel and actually do something she might regret. If you don't, you're going to push her away for good. She's your sister, you love her. I know you don't want to be on bad terms with her. We should have let her and Ally stay. Lance was dealt with." He looked like he was actually thinking about what Parker and I both had to say. "Fine, but when dads around, you dont wear this shit." He pointed up and down my outfit. He started to speak again. I should have known his requests weren't over. "If you stay away from the jocks I'll let you be. I won't say a peep about who you're dating or going to date." Whelp, I guess this is now or never. "About that. I kinda can't. I got an internship working under the school's physician. I'm working with the soccer team. I have to go to every practice and every game. I'm really considering sports medicine. This really shouldn't come to that much of a shock to you. You and dad have dragged me to sports games my whole life. It's what I know. " He started to pace back and forth. He was rambling out a bunch of swear words. He stopped in front of Parker. "You agree that she can't do this, right? Zach Folsom is a pig." I was nervous about what Parker was going to say. "It's her career, man. Don't get in her way for that. If that's what she wants to do with her life, I think it's great." My brother looked taken back. "You do?" "I do. Not all jocks are after one thing. Even if they are, you need to let her figure it out for herself. Some girls are worth changing for. Maybe one of them will do that for her." Did he just look at me when he said that? Wes looked back at me. "You've thought this through?" "I have. It's obviously not something I chose lightly. I applied when dad was still the head coach if that tells you how serious I am about this." He rubbed the back of his head. "All things considering I do think you will do a really good job at it. You know your sports and you know your stuff. Just give me a warning when you tell dad." I nodded. I was kind of surprised he was coming around so easily. I really do think it's all because of Parker. I looked over to see him staring at me. I mouthed."Thank you." He gave me a small smile back. I guess I have no choice but to forgive him for carrying me out of the party.
