While they came out of the detention camp, they ran as fast as they could because they had some Fanatics agents trailing them.

So they kept running and fighting back as John used his fire powers to burn some of their cars till they continued running. They finally reached Kelvin's hideout in Mexico.

As they all say down to rest Lyla started crying as she hugged Kayla and said

"Now that you're with me, no one will ever take you away from me, I promise.

Kelvin who was later frustrated about the two girls acting like children walked out on them.

As they were all resting after the long day they had,

John stood as he explained to them,

“My home city is Brantford in the United States of America, so I deeply Suggest that we all go there as there is a place I found there that we could all stay”

They all agreed except Kelvin, he said

“I can't leave Mexico, this is also my hometown”

Lyla then shouted

"We are already fugitives and the Fanatics agents won't stop coming after us after our intervention at their detention camp, we are already declared wanted"

Kelvin said “I’ll think about it” as he walked away.

John who saw the expression on Kelvin's face went after him to explain things to him.

As he entered Kelvin's room, he saw different types of drawings of two people.

John who was curious asked him

“Who are these people you keep on drawing Everytime?”

Kelvin sighed and answered

“The man and woman you're looking at in all those pictures are my parents, the main reason I said I'm not going back to Brantford is because they were killed there by the Fanatics agents and going back there would bring back painful memories”

John sighed and said

“But you need to understand that we are already wanted fugitives in Mexico and that is the only place we would have a little freedom at least, if your parents were killed there isn't it better to still stay alive and live up to your parents great reputation?"

As they were discussing, Lyla entered the room.

She heard all what they were talking about, she went to meet Kelvin and told him

“im really sorry for nagging at you but you could have explained to us about what happened at least we are a team now”

After much persuasion by John and Lyla, Kelvin finally agreed to follow them.

So John went on to obtain their visas and passports, Finally it was time to leave Mexico for USA .

They all went to the airport to board a plane, while they were there some Fanatics agents were already waiting at the airport to check for any mutants so they could arrest them.

They all disguised till they got into the plane and escaped, they spent four hours on their flight to the United States of America.

The whole team were welcomed with a Mutant attack sent by the Mutants Underground to eliminate to them but then a serious battle ensued between John, Kelvin and the other Mutant whose name was James. James was a black American who joined the Mutants Underground back when his parents were killed, James had the ability of freeze breath and heat breath.

They all fought seriously till Kelvin flew up as a distraction which gave John the chance to launch fire balls at James that eventually brought him down.

After bringing James down, they tied him up because the was unconscious alongside doctor Campbell who had woken up before but was knocked out again because they had not reached their hideout so they took James and doctor Campbell.

On getting to their hideout, they found ndt that all the mutants had been Killed and all the humans had been taken away by the Fanatics agents. While they were in there they never knew that their hideout had been surrounded by bombs. So John was crying and angry that why would this happen but later Lyla, Kayla and Kelvin consoled him, So Kelvin thought that something was wrong.

He said,

“Why would the agents Kill all mutants, take away all humans, and still leave this place undestroyed” while Kelvin was searching the place, he later found out that the whole area had been laced with bombs that had started ticking. He then ran to Inform them about the bombs, Immediately they all ran away, as they were running, Lyla’s younger sister, Kayla fell down and by that time the whole place had started exploding.

Lyla tried to run back to save ther sister but Kelvin stopped her and told her to go that he was going to save kayla. so Kelvin flew to save her.

While the took her, another blast From the bomb hit both of them, but Kelvin was badly Injured, he still managed to take kayla to meet Lyla, and the rest of them. so John took all of them to a room in a motel where they treated their selves, As Doctor Campbell and James were waking up, Lyla immediately used her powers on them to make them Forget wat had happened to them In their past lives as she also made them obey all her every command till they Finally Joined John and his teteam

While John left the motel to Find a new hideout, he met Thiago who was helping a mutant in trouble, so he followed him without him knowing, he continue following him till he reached the under ground tunnel where Reed, Lauren and some other mutants where Staying Thiago then noticed that someone was Following him, He then turned back and asked why they were following John then told Thiago that they had no place to stay.

Later Thiago then replied

“how am i supposed to Just believe that?”

John answered

“I understand you can just let a random stranger move into your place but we don't have anywhere to go, that is why we came to meet you seeing you helping other Mutants in need”

After much begging From John and Lyla, Thiago Finally accepted For him and his team to stay.

Afterwards John told Thiago that, he and his team would help in taking care of mutants. So Thiago agreed, John then introduced himself, and others to Kelvin, Lyla, Kayla, Doctor Campbell, and James.

As it turns out Kayla was same age with Reed so as time turns out Reed, Kayla and Lauren became very close, while Thiago, Kelvin, James, Lyla, John and Doctor Campbell became the protectors and saviours of mutants and humans living in the underground tunnel eventhough Thiago was a human.

Each time the six of them would go out to bring Food supplies, medical kits and armory equipment needed in the tunnel.

While Reed was growing, he was only six years old when he heard on the news that day by day mutants were dying, He became sad, out of anger, his eyes turned blue and his powers started manifesting

Reed inherited his father,Lucas’s powers, Lucas had the ability of absorbing and emitting light from his hands and also superstrength.

Not so and long after,his powers had shown, he Fainted. Lauren who was watching him took him to Kelvin who was around at that moment and told him wat had happened, Kelvin quickly carried him to Doctor Campbell,who had just finished conducting some tests for a mutant patient.

Immediately Doctor campbell hastily laid Reed on the bed and gave him few shot of injections and drips which made Reed sleep off. Doctor Campbell then took out small of Reed’s blood and tested it to know what was wrong, By this time Reed was still laying in bed sleeping.

While Doctor Campbell was testing it, he found out that Reed’s body organs were fast growing and that his Mutants gene were developing rapidly After conducting the lests , the results he got out proved that Reed’s powers were just at It's First stage and that Reed would become powerful than any other Mutants.

Doctor Campbell then decided to tell John and the others about It. When he told them,

Kelvin said

“we really have to take good care of him so he won’tfall into the hands of evil or even the Fanatics, for them not to use him as their pet”

John later added

“We can also use Reed’s powers as an advantage to us to fight against evil but we must not lose him in order not to cause a devastating chaos”

Lyla concluded

“If that is the case, I will do everything in my power to make sure Reed becomes safe and well trained in terms of battle”

TWO HOURS LATER

Reed had just woken up when he saw Lauren and Kayla sitting by his bed, as he was about to stand up, they both told him to lie down back until he had fullly recovered, He said “okay” after some minutes, he asked them wat happened to him, they were both Suprised till Lauren said

“Reed, don't tell me you don't remember anything that happened a while ago?”

Reed said “i don’t”

Lyla later explained to Reed that the first stage of his powers had just developed

Shocked as he was, Reed then sat up and begged Lyla to train him on how to use it, Lyla agreed.

Still on the bed resting the next day, Reed had a dream that he was being chased by Fanatics agents while he was trying to get away, they caught him and was beaten up to a pile and taken to prison, They cuffed his legs with the mutant power dampener on which they told him that was going to die if he did not tell them where the rest of the mutant were.

They continued torturing him, as he was shouting and screaming in pain his eyes turned blue again, and he started shooting out dark blue lasers From his eyes.

Immediately he woke up, he explained everything that happened to Lauren. Lauren was worried sick Until she the took him to meet Doctor Campbell the second time for another test to know if the second stage had fast developed, But all efforts still proved wrong. Lauren went on to Speak to Doctor Campbell about the situation. But doctor campbell assured her that It was nothing to be worried about that It was supposed to be like that during the First stage of power development. Lauren agreed and went to Reed to tell him about what Doctor Campbell said.

She assured him that she would do everything In her power to make sure nothing happens to him, Reed them nodded his head saying

“Okay”

Lauren then told reed to go bed, so that he would sleep in preparation For the big event the next day.Reed was confused and asked

“what will be happening tomorrow?”

Lauren answered in a low tone

“Training for Mutants begins tomorrow". Reed then said

“lauren I’m scared what if things doesn’t go as planned and later comes out awfully bad”

Lauren still assured him that she would always be at his side whenever he need her, Reed then cheered up a bit and gave Lauren a big tight hug He then went on to sleep as Lauren kissed him on the Forehead and went away.
