TESTING YOUR LIMITS

THE NEXT DAY

As reed woke up in the morning, he already met breakfast on his bed as he saw Lauren and Kayla smiling, after then he greeted them, later on Lauren said

“Eat up and Freshen up lighthead training begins”

Lauren had started calling reed lighthead ever since they discovered he inherited his Father’s power which is the absorption and emission of light. Reed then sat up to eat when Lyla, John and Doctor Campbell came to meet him, Doctor Campbell quickly ran some minor tests on him to see if he was recovering, and the tests came out positive so Reed asked John where Kelvin and James were, then John told him that when they when to gather some little supplies For Underground tunnel. The Fanatics agents hit the place they went and attacked them, in the process of running away, Kelvin and flames got shot.

Reed was scared, and asked how they were, then Doctor Campbell explained to that for Kelvin, It ust a scratch. which was minor, but For James, It was a direct hit, which caused him to lose a lot of blood, Doctor Campbell assured Reed that they had it under control, he also said that there was no reason For need to be worried! that he should just use him proper medication and have a good cest Reed nodded his head and said

“OK”

Some minutes Later, Reed had already Freshen up, when he was getting dressed, Thiago came to meet and advised him to be careful, in his words,

He said, “Reed, your Father trusted me to protect you, so please be very careful during your training, You are like a son to me so please do not hurt yourself”

Reed nodded his head and said “Thanks Thiago”

At the training ground , there were seven different children present there including Reed, Kayla and Lauren. so their instructor were Lyla and, Kelvin. Lyla was with a book where all the children abitities and power level was written.

As they began, they were asked to run round a Field of 200metres in the woods because they were not to be spotted out during the war. After running, they did all types of Fitness exercise, so It was time for the testing of their abilities.

The other children had shown their powers to kelvin and by Lyla, Lauren too who impressed Lyla with her air bubble shield, Followed by reed who was the strongest since he had inherited his Father powers.

Because the Fanatics doctors had used one of the serum, created by doctor campbell on Lyla’s younger sister, Kayla which caused her abilities to fade out, since then she went, into training For hand to hand combat without the use of powers, and also training For the good, use of weapons.

At the end of they First day training, Kelvin and Lyla determined all their, power levels. And so on, the training continues until, they could all learn how to stabilize their power level limits.

Meanwhile in the city the war and chaos had reduced, because humans and mutants were killed day, and as the day were going by the Mutants underground would come in contact with the Fanatics and a deadly fight would go on them .

Back at the underground tunnel where some humans and mutants lived, Reed was praticing on how to use his powers in case there was an attack, when Kayla came to meet him, They both praticed Itogether and learned some new tactics on now to engage In a battle.

Later on they discovered they had feelings For each other, Reed knew he loved Kayla but was afraid to stand up and meet her, as Kayla was still waiting For reed to ask her out, it continued like this For so long till they grew up.

Reed was still small as he was Just six years old same as Kayla too, but they never let the Feelings they had for each other disturb their aim to help one another or to stop them From training. They continued like that till they became teenagers.

Ten years later

Reed had turn into a Fully grown boy with this hair dyed green, while Kayla was a stunning, beautiful girl who was also sixteen, Their Feelings For each other never reduced.

The war In the city had finally stopped. There was a restriction placed by the government to eliminate any Mutants Found, So all the mutants, both good and bad went Into hiding.

During the past ten years a lot of things happened, The evil mutants known as the Mutants Underground had grown stronger and more deadly, while in the group that Reed and Kayla belonged to was full of tragedy.

When reed was Just Fourteen years old with Kayla, they were sent on a mission to get medical kits, from a hospital and also some Food supplies For the tunnel. So Reed, Kayla, Kelvin and John went out on the mission, when the Information had leaked out to the Fanatics that some mutants were living an underground tunnel are planning on purchasing some foods from a store.

So the Fanatics agents equipped themselves and went on to attack the underground tunnel using that opportunity.

While they were there, they separated humans from mutants, Then Lauren, Lyla and James engaged in a serious battle with the agents but were later Killed, So Doctor Campbell and Thiago tried to fight alongside with Lauren, Lyla and James but were badly injured so the agents took the humans away.

On arriving From the mission, Reed, Kayla, kelvin and John saw what happened they Found both the adults and children mutants dead including Lyla, Lauren and James. They were all crying, as Reed was angry and wanted to Fight back, but was stopped by Kayla who told him

“What has happened has happened, we can't Fight back, let's Just regroup and look For a way to help the injured”

While they were searching, they Found James and Doctor Campbell seriously Injured while they were rushing the two of them the hospital, Thiago couldn't make it and he slumped and died.

Reed was very sad, and was crying all day, Kayla would go up to him and console him everytime, Kayla later called a meeting and said

“I think I’m going to change my name”

Reed then asked

“why”

she answered “A lot of things has happen to Kayla right From her sad, bitter experience with the Fanatics agents and also losing her powers, now she had Lost her sister who meant so much to her, So From now on I will like to be known as Caitlyn, so I can start a new life again.

So they went on to drop Doctor Campbell at the hospital as they went back to the tunnel to bury the dead bodies.

After the tragic accidents. They all went to Find a new place to stay, in which they saw in an abandoned warehouse. So Reed, Caitlyn, John, Kelvin with Doctor Campbell had been staying there till they were both sixteen years of age.

Presently, Reed and Caitlyn had Forgotten about the tragic accident that would always leave a scar in their heart, Reed continued Focusing on the Feeling he has on Caitlyn and planned to ask her out.

While he was walking up to her, He noticed she was not in Her room, he then shouted her name,

“Caitlyn”

Which then responded

“Yes Reed, I'm in my room”

Reed who was already confused at that time started looking for her.

It turns out Caitlyn powers were already back, the serum the agents used on her had worn OFF, so she discovered her invisibility abilities some days back but she was looking For the perfect moment tell Reed, while reed was standing and couldn't see her, she sneaked up at his Front and Kiss him on his cheek.

Scared and ready to Fight, Reed stood up on high alert as he noticed something was not right, Still on the spot he stood, as he was about to turn head to look back, then Caitlyn appeared in His Front staying visible, immediately he turned his head, he received a deep Kiss From Caitlyn by which Reed also responded back.

So after the long and deep kiss, Reed was shocked as he asked

“What is going on?”

Caitlyn laughed as she asked him

“is it the part where you couldn’t see me or the part where we kissed”

I’m talking about everything, is there anything I want to know?” Reed asked

Caitlyn then sat him down on the bed and Started explaining things to him

“For some days back, i have been feeling strange and my body has been acting entirely different, so when I wanted to take my bath yesterday, I looked into the mirror and could not see myself. I then decided that my X-gene has been stabilized again and my powers has come back, but I was crying bitterly because when my powers had Finally come back, Lyla wasn't there put me through it, because right from birth, Lyla was always there for me. So I was waiting for the perfect time to tell you about it and the time came”

Hearing all this, Reed became sad as he knelt down and said

“Cait, I don’t think I can hide my feelings for you anymore, I love you from the deepest depth of my heart and I want you to know that I would always be there for you, Always!. I love you so much dear, Will you be my lover?”

Caitlyn couldn't wait For Reed to Finish his words as she hugged him

“What were you doing since, I have been waiting For your proposal since”

Caitlyn Finally responded but with a peck on his cheek, so They Kissed each other and they were finally a couple.

They went on missions together till Caitlyn realised that anything she touched could also turn invisible, but there was a limit to what she could touch and the timetaken so she told Reed as he was happy, They Finally agreed to tell, John, Kelvin and Doctor campbell all that had happened between them.

When they told The rest of the team, they were very happy For them.

On a Friday evening, while Reed and Caitlyn were spending time with each other, at that time Reed was about to draw the chair out For Caitlyn to seat on, when the chair crumbled and disintegrated, They were both shocked as they went on to meet Doctor Campbell who ran a Few tests on him and discovered the third and Final stage of his powers had Shown, so Reed remebered when the he was 12 years old that the second stage of his powers commmenced which, was super strength that he had also inherited from his Father, Lucas. He discovered he had superstrength when he was asked carry a pile of ood supplies and he raised it up without any Feeling of being heavy

After he was tested by Doctor Campbell For the Final stage of his power. Reed was asked to rest so that this body would move in accordance with the newly developed powers.

So he went on to meet Caitlyn so she would stay with him as he Was resting, as were staying together, their, their hands touched and formed a pattern-like glowing green design, which signifies an old myth called the Green borrealis.

She told Reed that they would name their child Kyle but Reed laughed and said

My love, I Know ,we're meant For each other but we are just sixteen years old, we're teenagers and, you may not know wat could happen, If we may be together and have our own child but I pray It happens”

So They both Kissed as Reed went to sleep.
