Raid

1300 Words
The police had received tips from an informant and raided the Vin’s company early in the morning, there was chaos everywhere as they packed every single valuable thing from laptops to flash drives. “You can’t do this” Clara struggled with them, she wasn’t given a chance to inform Dylan about it when they stormed in, talking to the officer in charge was making it more complicated, he refused to listen to anything she had to say. “What the hell is going on here!” a dark and authoritative voice rung out, Clara bent her head in shame, she had failed him again and this time she was sure he would fire her. “I believe you must be Mr Dylan, we received intel that your company is working along with the s*x trafficking syndicate that we just arrested” the officer in charge walked up to him in a pompous manner. “Do you have a warrant to search my office?” He asked looking at him dead in the face, he was already swearing in his heart to make him pay if he didn’t have an official warrant. Shepherd, the officer laughed, he waved a paper in front of him and walked away, Clara stood by Dylan avoiding his cold gaze, if she had contacted him earlier then he wouldn’t be screaming over what was going on. “I am so sorry, I thought I could handle it” she apologized on her knees almost crying. “Let them take what they want, has anyone gone to my office?” He asked. “No Sir” she shaked her head, As far as Dylan knew he was innocent of what they were accusing him of but he wouldn’t have anyone ransacking his personal office because the file and projects he had there were worth millions. “Where is the CEO office?” Shepherd came back again seeking for more, he looked directly at Dylan and smiled. He had heard a lot about him and wanted to investigate him several times, each time he did, Dylan always came out with a clean record almost he hadn’t done anything evil but his guts could tell him that he was worst than most business men he had ever met. “Your men have already searched there” Clara easily covered up and walked away looking frustrated, Shepherd looked at Dylan one last time after his men were done packing. “If I find out that you are involved in this, it would bring me so much joy to knock you down Mr Dylan” he warned. Those words were more like child’s play to Dylan, he had been threatened several times that he was eventually used to it. “I hope you do, if not you will not like what I would do to you” Dylan alleged, his voice was deeper and huskier than before and he made sure that Shepherd understood exactly what he meant. Immediately they left, Clara opened his office and went down on her knees, “Please Mr Dylan don’t fire me, I need this job to take care of my family, please Sir” she rubbed her palm fiercely which made a weird sound to his ears. “Could you stop that, you are already getting on my nerves” he yelled, Dylan had to deal with getting his company properties being taken and yet she was making a scene over a job she couldn’t handle properly. “I am sorry Sir, I didn’t mean do” “Assemble all the employees, we will have a brief meeting in three minutes” She quickly took to her heel and left before he changed his mind asking her to write her resignation letter. Dylan sat back in his office wondering who the informant could be and what did they have against him, being accused of s*x trafficking was an insult to him, he hated that type of business and someone dared to place an accusation on him. He thought about Steph but then he dismissed her, she was too naive to think about something like that, she would rather venture into something else that would get less blood on her hands. Someone was monitoring him and wanted him out, with this simple act he knew that he had to be extremely careful with everything he did until he found the suspect. He finished the meeting with his staff and returned back home with nothing else to work on, the unfortunate events of the day was taking a toll on him. Anabel heard about the news and waited for his return, when he walked in she rushed to give him a warm embrace. She helped him take off his jacket, “I heard what happened” she began the conversation that he wished he wouldn’t have to hear again, he starred at her face trying to reach her expression, he wanted to know if she believed the news and was doubting him, maybe she was hiding it by trying to act sweet. “You don’t need to stare at me that way, I know you are trying to read my mind. I trust you and that is all that matters” she placed her right hand on his face assuring him, if no one else would believe him then she would, she had already doubted him before when it came to her mother and promised herself that she would never do it again. “I don’t quite understand what is going on” He said in respect to the horrible thing happening to the family. “You know I wouldn’t do anything that involves s*x trafficking” he grunted in a low tone, Dylan may seem tough to everyone but when it came to her he sometimes let his guard down just to feel her affection. “Do you remember you saved August from that, she is already a witness that you would never do such a thing” she reminded him of the bold actions he took to save August that fateful day. “Do you think the cult has anything to do with this, it could be their way of trying to weigh us down” Dylan suggested while they walked back to their room. “I don’t know but whoever it is , they messed with the wrong person” Anabel answered in a haze, she wouldn’t take it likely if she found out the offender, first her son was abducted and now her husband has been accused of s*x trafficking. Everything seemed to be a big plan for the enemy, just like they were pawns in a chess board moved against their will. Anabel’s words gave Dylan encouragement, he could feel a surge of power course through his veins, she was damn right about what she said, whoever it was they were messing with the wrong family and he would take them down no matter what. *** In a dark room which had a simple bar, a phone vibrates close to a glass of alcohol. The man dressed in a grey suit seated close to it picked it up, “Sir we have done as you asked, the police had raided the Vin’s companies and taken their properties” Voice 1 said over the phone, his breath was raggedy like he was running to give him the information. “Good, did they suspect anything?” The man asked, he couldn’t afford to have his cover blown. “No Sir, everything went as planned” Voice 1 answered. “Good, now move unto the next plan” He ordered and disconnected the call. He pulled out the sim from the phone, broke it and dipped it into his glass of alcohol. .
