Anabel returned back to her room to meet Dylan seated on the bed fiddling through his phone.
“They are gone” she informed him sadly, Dylan had a poised look on his face, his facial expression was unreadable to her.
She joined him on the bed and didn’t say anything else to him, she blamed him for making her parents leave yet she couldn’t understand why her son would accuse his Grandma.
“I know this is hard and confusing for you but trust me I am also confused here, I have no idea what is going on” he voiced out to her hearing, he wanted to comfort her and tell her that he could fix it all but he knew not where to start from.
Anabel ignored him closing her eyes and facing her back to him, he was right that everything was confusing.
“Are you really sure of what you saw?, I mean mom had always been at home with us” She flung the duvet off her body and rested her back on the bed,
“Are you really sure that you were with your mom all the time” he answered back sharply, he hated the fact that she was siding with her mother and not him nor her son.
“You might be thinking about your mom, but also think about your son who might be tramautized by the events that happened to him” He got up angrily and left to Kadmiel’s room.
Dylan peeped through the door, “Hey son, can I come in”
Kadmiel was already in bed getting ready to sleep when he saw him.
“Yes Dad” he answered sitting up.
“How are you holding up?” Dylan sat close to him caressing his head, he was bothered that Kadmiel would still be frightened, though he was a strong kid, it was his first being abducted and not just by a stranger but by someone who could most possibly be his Grandma.
“Am I supposed to be scared of Grandma now, she claims to not know anything that happened, why would she lie to us?” He looked up to his father for answers, he always believed that Adults were responsible and had solution to all problems.
“Honestly son, I don’t know what to say right now, but I am sure that I would get to the bottom of this and make whoever is responsible pay for ever touching you” Dylan affirmed with a deep gaze.
“Also I am sorry for not saving you much earlier” he apologized.
“It’s okay Dad, I am glad that you came for me. You will always be my Hero” His tiny hands hugged Dylan’s waist trying to clasp his hand around him.
“Weren’t you scared a bit?” Dylan asked, his son maybe like him but sometimes he had doubts in himself.
“Maybe a little, when I saw Grandma at first, I thought that she was there to save me but she turned into someone more devious than I had expected. I was terrified that she would hurt me” He confessed snickering through his fingers, Dylan grabbed his hands and lifted up his head.
“It’s okay to be afraid sometimes, it shows that you are human”
“As far as I have you and mom, I am no longer afraid” Kadmiel’s cheeks puffed up in a cute smile that Dylan couldn’t help but laugh at how chubby he looked.
“Come here you” he tickled him making Kadmiel kick and screams, they had their sweet moments together while Anabel stood by the door watching them, What Dylan had said earlier made her realize that she was only thinking about her relationship with her family almost forgetting that her son had seen danger for the first time in his life and she wasn’t there to be his support.
She slowly walked back to her room, still hearing the giggles of Kadmiel as he played with Dylan.
She began questioning herself, “Was her mom really the culprit?, was she using the love she had for her to blind her eyes, was she making mockery of her because all she wanted was to be close to her family?”
Those questions slipped in and out of her mind.

Dressed in a Black suit, Dylan arrived at the office, a beautiful young lady in her early twenties, brown hair, thick lashes and brows with a troubled face ran to him.
“Good morning Sir, we have a major problem” she announced to him holding a tablet in her hand.
“Our Shares have been bought by someone else and right now that person hold a bigger percentage of our company” She showed him what was going on with worry on her face. She was nervous that Dylan would scold her for being and incompetent secretary.
“Summon the board immediately” he ordered and walked away.
Seated in front of Dylan were eight men who held an important part in the Vin’s companies, each one of them was a major shareholder in the company, Dylan stared at them scanning each of their facial expression to find the culprit who had sold his shares.
“Which one of you is it? Dylan roared angrily, 33% of the shares had been sold to someone they knew nothing about.
They took rounds in staring at each other questioning themselves, that was when they noticed three of them were missing from the meeting.
“Where is Mr Cobb?” Mr Andrew asked drawing it to Dylan’s attention.
“Clara, check who else is missing and why they aren’t here?” Dylan demanded his secretary standing closely behind him, Clara check her mail and found that those men had not responded to attending the meeting.
“There are missing and they own the highest amount of shares” she answered almost crying.
“How on earth could you let that happen” he yelled at her making her shriek in fear, his temper was always something she was scared of, Dylan wasn’t always angry at work but when he was he could be so scary.
“Am I too late for this meeting?” A slender young woman walked in a short red dress, thick white fur on her shoulders and a radiant smile on her face. She sat on an empty seat close to Dylan and winked at him.
“Who are you?” Mr Andrew asked,
“Uhmmm, how should I describe myself?” She boasted in a sly.
“Oh, how about I am the newest shareholders of this company owning about 33% of the company’s shares” She answered.
“Steph, what do you think you are doing?” Dylan’s eyes were dark and dreadful by just looking at her.
“Oh you remember me, I thought you would have a hard time doing that but I guess you saved me all the trouble of explaining myself”
Steph had once been the secretary of Dylan who was dragged out of the office because she took a day of leave without informing him.
“Wow, it’s so nice to be back here. Why don’t we talk about business for now, what is the purpose of this meeting?” She looked back at the stunned faces which were already on her. It gave her great joy to be the center of attraction but when she turned to Dylan, he was no longer looking at her but was rather giving instructions to Clara, she frowned.
“Mr Dylan” she called his attention towards her.
“What is the purpose of this meeting?” she asked again resting her head on her palm as she patted her cheeks.
“This meeting is dismissed” Dylan spared her not a glance and returned to his office.
“Miss Steph, Mr Dylan will like to speak to you in his office” Clara informed her ushering her out.
In Dylan’s office, Steph took a good look around,
“Your office looks the same” Steph complimented after taking a seat, nothing had significantly changed from the last time she was there.
“I give you five seconds to speak” Despite being a share holder, Dylan didn’t give her the respect she deserved but he only saw her as his once irresponsible secretary who couldn’t keep her job.
“You are still the same Dylan” she laughed.
“Mr Dylan to you” he corrected with a stern face on, he wouldn’t have her taking to him like they were friends just because she had money and was bold enough to face him by climbing up the ladder.
“Fine, is it a crime to work with you, I can already see us doing great things and lifting the company to greater heights.
Don’t you think?” she answered calmly compared to the harsh tone Dylan used on her.
“So this is strictly based on business right?” He nodded in confirmation though he could still smell some ulterior motives underneath her smiles but he held it in.
“Oh come on Dylan”
“Mr Dylan”
“Okay” she lifted her hands accepting his words, “Did you think I came back for revenge?” She walked up to him and reached out to touch his face.
“If you dare to lay your hands on me, I will make sure to break all your fingers” he stop her hands from touching his face.
“I think we are done here, you can get out” he ordered concentrating on his work.
Steph looked helpless and pitiful, she had no choice but to carry her bag and walk away disappointedly.
