Chapter 10

Carl's POV

I walked to the table where my family is and everyone reciprocated the same horror in their faces as mine. My Mom especially. She is scared about the pack members going against me. I have heard her saying that people didn't accept her as their Queen when they first found out she was a bloodsucker.

Now, the cycle is just repeating itself but through her heir.

"What do I do now?" I whispered looking at Dad.

"Just stay calm for now. And then you can leave. I'll manage by saying you're sick. We'll leave to the supernatural council tomorrow for a solution." He whispered so low.

Mom just stared at dad with an expression that said why exactly?!

"I can't keep on lying to my own people being their King! Not only am I a Father but an Alpha and a King!!" He said that made us nod.

"Prince!!" A girl in her teens bowed

I went stiff and nodded in dispersal making her stand again. She smiled as she put a tin before me. By the aroma I already figured out they were sugar cookies.

"I made them for you," she said as she blushed.

"Thank you!" I smiled as I stood to thank her.

She looked so petite before my tall frame. She blushed as soon as I moved a little closer to her. Sometimes, yes I like to play around with girls. Because Layla doesn't even react knowing she will be my mate when she turns eighteen.

"Stop playing around Carl!" Dad laughed looking at the blushy girl before me.

I just smiled and sat again opening the lid of the tin. The smell of sugar cookies hit my nostrils making me drool already. I took a bite and damn they were so tasty.

I slid the tin to the middle of the table so my family can have some too. Because trust me, these are so darn delicious I don't even know how that girl made these.

"Look who's eating sugar cookies knowing it's the Grand Reveal ceremony in a while" Raul rolled his eyes.

"Grand Reveal Ceremony? Seriously mann??" I rolled my eyes as well.

"Yep. It's about time to reveal you aren't their werewolf prince but a bloodsucker. Save some sugar cookies. I might as well eat em while having fun during the Grand Reveal ceremony" Raul smirked and pulled his walls up again.

But to be honest, I am nervous again. I looked around and everyone in my pack had happy faces. They are looking forward to seeing their Prince shift into his wolf and run along with them.

They are very eager to see my wolf because of the colour. I have heard the blend of wolf colours of parents is what their pup will have in the King's family.

The first King and Queen Jaxon and Mia were black and white wolves. So my dad got his wolf in Grey. But now, only dad is a werewolf and not mom. They are eager to see if I break the tradition of the wolf colour by taking another new colour.

To be honest, I was curious about that too till I came to know that I shifted into a bloodsucker and not a werewolf.

"That's ok. It'll be fine. We are all here to protect you" Mom whispered.

I just nodded but deep inside, for some reason, I felt this is all wrong. Why should I be running away from my own people when everything that happened wasn't in my hands?!

It's almost as if I'm cheating my own people by hiding the biggest fact about their own prince.

"Mom! Dad!!" I called them who were busy looking around for the perfect time to send me back to pack house.

"Mhm" Dad replied with his eyes still on the pack members at the barbecue.

"Let's reveal this. Why are we fooling our own people?" I whispered.

Their eyes instantly found mine and I just poured out the confidence I had. I really meant what I said.

"Are you mad? And then what? Leave to Bloodsucker covenant and rule those brainless shitty bloodsuckers?" Dad growled low.

Mom slightly coughed making dad mutter a little sorry. She is a bloodsucker as well after all. Their Queen to be more precise.

"But Dad, didn't you take the oath that you'll be truthful to them? Mom, didn't you see this pack as your own and loved the people more than your own kind.. bloodsuckers?" I asked and they fell silent.

"Dad.. just like you said. You'll save me once and then revealing it is the best option because you can't lie to your people. Let's cut it to reveal now so we don't have to feel guilt or regret anymore" I whispered.

They smiled and nodded.

But Dad.. he stood up and hugged me whispering a "You'll be the best King"

I hugged him back with a smile. Who knows this might even be my last one. Because I might even go to the bloodsucker covenant because I just don't belong here.

"Ow! Too much family drama" Raul said.

And I smiled because he is just faking it. His voice isn't stern like it usually is.

"I see what makes this beasty a softie. Uh Uh!" I mindlinked him back.

"Watch who you call beasty. I might take control over and reveal your ass right here and now" He rolled his eyes.

"You can't do that, beasty!" I laughed.

"Gosh you irritate me so much" he whispered before blocking me out again.

He is not as bad as I thought. He just needs to be tamed in the right way else he is enough to put the whole supernatural world into chaos.

"Prince! Ready?" Oliver asked with excitement in his eyes.

"I would like to talk to you all first before anything else." I smiled but inside, nervousness was slowly eating me.

"Ok. Let's get to the stage then" he beamed and started leading the way.

I looked at my parents once more and released a deep breath before following Oliver.

"You got this Carl!" I whispered to myself.

"Damn I can't see this. I plan to save you from embarrassment" Raul said.

"How?" I asked him but he already blocked me out again.

What is he even planning when my whole body is sweating because of the revealing already.

"You got this!" I whispered to myself again and looked at my people ready to come out as a bloodsucker.
