Chapter 2As soon as the other man departed, Jack secured his equipment and turned off the lights. Then he hiked back to his trailer and changed into jeans and a T-shirt. Although he was equally comfortable in any of the flashy and bizarre costumes he wore, the current uniform of the younger generation felt all right as well. He didn’t bother to lock up when he left. There was an atmosphere of trust among the carnival people and anyone who violated that code was eventually discovered and ostracized or worse.
