Addison can live a normal life without a man, being innocent and unmarried. She was comfortable being alone in her life and accepted that she would be alone as she got older, but all that changed when she met Harold, who leased her apartment.

It revitalized her desire and made her feel as if something was obviously missing in her life with Harold. Every night, she overheard his neighbor's tough growls, as if Harold wanted her to hear them.

Harold is a really good-looking man with six rock-hard abs. He has enticing eyes that make her heart race. He is tall and gorgeous. She saw a different woman in his apartment and heard moans and gasps all night, which annoyed her.

Every time they meet, she develops feelings for him. And she didn't want to be like that.

Nevertheless, his lunatic, seductive neighbor confused her feelings and persuaded her that she was actually a woman who needed a man to love her and to have physical relations with someone. A man likes Harold.

She is clueless that Harold is a mafia member who participates in a wide range of criminal operations, hides in her apartment, and brings her trouble.

How could she ignore Harold when she already had him in her heart?

CHAPTER ONE
Addison Torres lives on her own. Her father died when she was very young. Her mother was the sole one who looked after her. Addison completed her AB in mass communication at the age of twenty. She became a successful writer at age twenty-five, writing for various publishing companies and magazines. She also started writing scripts. When her mother died, she kept running their small business—an apartment—because it provided them with a monthly income. Everyone idolizes Addison's beauty and cleverness, but she's not like the other girls. She is a weird, old-fashioned sort of person. She prefers not to socialize with others unless it is for a special occasion. NBSB, innocence, and virgin. She hates dependent men. A playboy who merely wants to have fun, she wants a serious guy for a long-term relationship, but it all changes when she meets Harold, who rents her studio-style apartment. Harold had interrupted her peaceful life. Someone catches her attention while she's writing. Addison lifted her head and looked at the newcomer. She shook her head at what she had observed. Right in front of her was a handsome man. Addison sat straight up and focused her attention on him. For the first time, her pulse was beating for no apparent reason. She had just recently seen the guy. "Miss?" he asks, catching her attention. The man was dressed casually in faded jeans with a few patches and a black t-shirt. It looks unkempt. He looks like a gangster. She is unable to describe it, but he looked very nice in his sports coat. "Yes?" she asked. She looked down at the bag he was carrying on his back. "I was informed you have an apartment for rent here." "I would rent it if there were a vacancy," he replied. His voice was pleasing to the ear. "There is an unoccupied apartment." "You might want to take a look at it first," she said, startled. Addison went out of her apartment and opened the door next to it. It was just adapted to her studio unit. Only a partition separates the apartments in which she will live. She wants to renovate her apartment but needs the money to do it. "The last occupant moved out more than a week ago." It is big. There are two bedrooms, a living room, and a private CR. "Good for modest families, and all of the apartments there are the same proportion, except for my apartment, which is double the size of each unit," she clarified. "Aside from the fact that it is an old apartment, the tenants here are safe," she added. As she felt his face closest to him, he simply nodded in response to everything she said. A few beards grew on his face, but they did not detract from his good looks. It only adds to his appeal. As Addison looked at him, she fell onto his chest because she didn't know she was so close to him. Addison had no option but to grab his chest because she'd fall if she didn't. When she realized what had happened, she instantly removed her hand from his massive chest. It felt like it scorched her. "I'm sorry," she said, blushing. "It's OK," he said, smirking. Addison turned her eyes away from him. "If you want to rent, my payment policy is a one-month deposit and two months' advance." "Seven thousand every month," she said. It almost surprised her when he suddenly removed her big eyeglasses from her eyes. She had forgotten to take off her eyeglasses since she had written earlier. "It was so awful how lovely your eyes are, and you hid them behind those gigantic eyeglasses," he said. If another guy had done what he did, she might have slapped him, but she couldn't do that to the man standing in front of her. She could feel the throbbing in her heart. Addison knew she wasn't a teenager anymore. Still, she couldn't help but be fascinated by the mysterious guy and was stunned by his presence. She looks like an i***t—what a shame. "Miss?" he asks, startling her as if she were sleeping. "What precisely is it?" She asks questions. Her face was red. "I need a temporary place, and this one will suffice for the time being," he said, smiling at her again. She didn't notice the money he was holding in his hand and took it, since she was humiliated. Addison didn't want him to assume his charm would affect her. "Then you might move here." "Welcome to your new house," she answered casually. She just gave him the key and returned to her apartment. It was complicated for her to describe how she felt. She gasped as if being chased and immediately drank water to calm herself. Addison calmed herself by taking several deep breaths. She was shaking and struggling to express her emotions. The man seemed to swallow her up sweetly. Addison was preparing to resume writing when she noticed her eyeglasses. She is not able to write without it. She sighed because she had no choice but to get her eyeglasses. When Addison knocked on the other room's door, she felt nervous. She didn't have an option. She needs his f*****g eyeglasses, for God's sake! Her heart didn't stop beating as he opened the door. Her heart seemed to be about to explode. He smiled, but what surprised her was that he didn't have a shirt on, showing off his great biceps. She was shocked by the sight when she noticed the bulge on his towel, which made her face feverish. "Do you need anything?" "S-sorry if I bothered you, but I forgot my eyeglasses," she said hesitantly. She turned her eyes away from the guy. Her voice was shaking as well. "Oh, yes. I completely forgot to return your eyeglasses. "Just wait a minute, and I'll get them," he replied. When he turned his back to her and took her eyeglasses, she couldn't take her eyes away from his nice shoulders and curvy ass. "Addison, what happened to you?" Her thoughts wondered, "How long have you admired men?" When the man handed her eyeglasses, she sucked up again. Their eyes met again, and she couldn't refuse to look. His eyes were blue. In her stories, this guy seems to be her hero. He'd look like an American to her. "May I have your name?" The man asks. "Addison Torres." "Wonderful name." "My name is Harold Johnson, by the way," he introduced himself. "Are you an American?" she asked, wondering whether her thoughts were correct. "My father," he explained. "That's why," she said, smiling. "What exactly is it?" He inquires, intrigued. "It's nothing." She chuckled. "OK, I'll go first, and it seems that you might still take a bath." Addison was about to enter her apartment when Harold called her. "Try wearing contact lenses to show off the beauty of your eyes," he suggested. Addison is trying to ignore him. A guy admired her for the first time in her life. She had never had a crush before, as she was so serious about her life. She dislikes relationships since she believes that might ruin her goals, but her new neighbor is different. When she was younger, Addison desired to be a famous writer, and she accomplished it. Many of her stories were adapted into films, and she was known by the pen name Miss Lindsay. No one knows her since she prefers to keep her life private, and she keeps pursuing her dream of being a writer even when she is home. After her mother's death, she learned how to live alone and has turned down the idea that she must need to marry to never feel alone again. She was aware that something was missing in her life. But if this was what God intended for her, how could she withhold it? She isn't the only person on earth.
