“I have to go meet your father,” Justin said, putting his black suit jacket on. “He’s close and wants to discuss something.”
She leaned against the bed.
So many thoughts.
“You can come with me if you want, though I’m sure you don’t want to see him.”
Since when did he care? Oh, right. He’s trying a new approach with this. Wants it to be more real. “Not particularly, no.” She watched him for any signs. He didn’t show anything. Was he going to wait to do something to her? It had to be another test.
“You’ll be with your sister?”
“And I was going to go see my mother.”
“Right. Well, I’ll be back later.” He picked up her hand. “I know I haven’t earned favors from you, but may I ask something of you?”
