Nona Slade has been through more than other she-wolves her age. She found her mate only to have him kidnap her and hold her hostage. She was pregnant, but her baby was taken from her. Nona is trying to pick up the pieces of her broken life so she can move on, but one thing is missing. Lennox Brooks is the Beta of the Wild Band Pack and is pining for Nona. He came across her on a mission to rescue his Alpha, and he's been lost ever since. He knows she's been through a lot, and he's trying to be as patient as a wolf can be. She is his mate, but she doesn't want that. Nona isn't looking at Lennox as a mate if she even looks at him at all. She keeps her interactions as limited as possible, and Lennox tries his best to respect that.
