Layla “Shannon, sweetie, we don’t eat slugs.” I said gently as I wiped her little face while also trying not to gag at the same time. The child had run over while we were outside to show me the little slug she had found near the slide. Instead of returning the creature like I had asked, she plopped the thing in her mouth at lightning speed. “Allister dared me to do it. He said that I wasn’t a real wolf if I didn’t do it.” She whines as I try to wipe the last ruminants of goo and slime from around her mouth. My stomach rolled even more.
